Funny, I always remember how much I won but never remember how much I've thrown into the kitty for Skins games.

Don't think I'll ever be in the + column.

I wonder why we put ourselves through this torture we call flog  golf sometimes🙄

Looking forward to playing, new swing bedding in nicely (I thought) then followed a round of thins, fats, bogies and doubles including a 4 putt on our hardest hole. Even managed to drive a ball off the tee 12" off the ground into a bank 20 yds in front, never to be seen again!

I need to see the pro and sort this nonsense out.

/LoveGolf 🤭

Update- had a 30 min Trackman and video lesson with the pro today. It's very clear what the issue is and very clear how to improve.

By about 15 mins in he had me hitting sweet 6 iron draws about 180yds. Now it's just about repetition and convincing myself to commit to this lower half change/improvement. Playing tomorrow so will see if it stands up with on course pressure.

Played quite well today- lesson has given me extra length- even surprised myself with longer tee shots!

real issue is I cant chip! fatted or thinned nearly every chip- reached all par 5's in two (beside the green) then fatted or thinned a par or bogie. Same with long par 4's.

Confidence is higher on long game but short game is killing me.

'Tis a goofy little game at time for sure, and so difficult to be able to put it all together and keep it together. Hang in there...the short game will come back, and then putting will "go away", so you have that to look forward to...😝

Shot a horrid 109 today. Every iron shot was horrible. Low left knuckleballs for the most part and topping it. Had one decent iron shot all day on the 170 yard par over water so that's a bright spot.

Didn't realize until I got in the car to leave that I was lengthening my backswing too much and couldn't get the face to square properly.

Wedges and putting we're on fire though. If I could have made it to a green in less than 3 or 4 strokes I probably would have had a good day.

41/41 at Mesa Del Sol with a quadruple 8 on #13. I had five legit birdie attempts and made one.  Missed what should have been a no brainer from just over 2 ft.  Oh, what could have been. 🤪

Didn’t keep official score. Couldn’t get the driver working today. But irons and wedge game was money.

About 6 greens were “temp” due to our prior snow storm. However, the course had all 18 holes open. Short track and wide open. Pretty fun and well taken care of for a Muni.

Just a (boring) update.............but no-one else will listen🙄😄

spent an hour and 100 chips at the chipping green today (after watching a youtube video on non rotational chipping issues).

1 thin and 99 excellent chips from any lie, and I mean any lie.......looking forward now to my next game.

Also have a follow up lesson with the pro on the long game to try and bed in the changes.

Played well. Shot a 42 37... that 37 is par on the back. The course finally opened back up as the snow melted. However they 18 was a little funky. You play 1-11 on the longer course, Eagle Talon. And 3-9 on Coyote Creek. Coyote is a much shorter and imo easier course. A lot of frozen greens still but was a fun day.

Right! Yesterday I shot 44/43:87 at The Babe, with one Birdie. Can’t seem to get my strokes down.....driving the ball well, but chippin* and putting need more work.

What a difference a day makes, shot really well today. Figured out the p790’s like a more upright swing. Seriously long and soaring irons today. Lots of fun.

Been two months since Ive played and two months since my left hand had surgery and 6 weeks for the right hand. Finally decidedto hit the course for a test. No idea how it woukd go as a bit weak and tender still.

The first 3 holes I dropped 4 fours in the 80 to 100 range. Each hole I got a littke better. Almost gave up on #1 but I stuck it out. Pain was light just not mych strength .

It was 40 degrees with 20 mph gusts which didnt help. 4th hole was into the wind so I hit a 5i off the tee. Yea, long irons arent happening.

The next two holes I piped river off the tee.40 yards short but felt good.

Hit wedges, short irons. hybrid, driver, 5w, and they felt good. Any iron longer then a 7i Im not ready for.

.Planned to play a few more today , but Mother Nature dropped a couole inches of snow over night.

My goal after surgery was to he hitting easy shot at the end of Feb start of March. The dream was to be playing fully mid zmarch but I think Ill still be going easy another month.

Follow up long game lesson yesterday where he took my swing apart- it sux 🙄

Standing up on backswing, hips stalling, arms and hands flipping, right foot staying planted on downswing etc etc

All fixable. Video really showed the issues clearly.

On a positive note face to path and AoA were occasionally excellent, and smash factor of 1.41 but not consistently.

Hard to change all this after years of swinging poorly, but at least its before the season starts.

Happy but disappointed in my play Tuesday. Worked early morning so had time to get a round in after. Got paired with an later age man and his and the son also had his toddler with him which was quite annoying but it was a $30 round so oh well.

Shot 48/43 on a tees one back than I normally play at this course and the wind started to pick up a tad. Had a triple on the front and triple on the back and also a 3 putt on each side which of course were different holes from the triples. A lot of room to shave some strokes but overall was playing pretty good minus a few holes.
