Bandon Dunes yesterday..

Started with a healthy Double/Double on 1 and 2, then played even for the rest of the round. 38/38 76. I have no Idea how I managed to double the first 2 holes.

Weather was perfect.

Old Mac today and possibly Trails tomorrow..

I am typically bad at on course photography.  And on this trip, the phone stays in the bag. (trying to avoid answering work calls).

I will try to get some of the practice center and maybe the Preserve or Punchbowl..

well I went out and played the back nine in the 30 mph winds today to see how it was. Didn't keep any score as it was stupid. But, I did hit a few drives over 330 yds haha. amazing how a wind driven shot on dried out fairways will go. Conversely I also had some drives go about 220, so... meh..

I feel sorry for the guys who paid full price

Growing up in Florida, we use to go watch them wrestle gators. That seemed very real and awful scary at that time.  Ahh yes, Howard Johnson's, all you can eat fried clams, Stuckey's peanut brittle, comic books, and that silly hand held game get the ball through the maze and in the hole (never mastered that one either)... those were the days.

Great post, brings back some nice memories...

I remember growing up on Long Island my friends and I played on a CYO basketball team together. We played about 3 games a week, and played gym hockey the other two nights.

We'd ride our bikes to the church gym where the games were played, they usually began around 7pm. We would leave early so we could go to HoJo's for the all you could eat fried chicken (Mondays) or the fried clams (Friday?). We'd stuff ourselves the way only 15-17 year old boys can, then go and play 40 minutes of full court hoops. When the league game was over we'd play half court 3 on 3 until the janitor locked up the gym.

On the way home we'd stop there again for ice cream or one of those hot dogs fried in butter on their split roll. Then go home and sleep like babies.

Oh, to be that young and able to eat like that again....

Played again today for the 3rd time in 4 days, and 8th of 10. The last 3 were all cold, windy and damp days. Not to mention CPO. Today was the day my body hit the wall... back was stiff, and just no energy. I really wanted to cancel this morning, and should have.

The company was great, but my golf wasn't. Shot 94, and really didn't care. After about 7 or 8 holes I was just going through the motions. If it sounds like I'm golfed out, I think I am. I've been playing a lot more than often lately because after this Saturday, I might not be playing again until the end of February.

When I got home this afternoon I ate a late lunch and fell asleep from 5-8pm. I canceled for tomorrow, won't play Thursday. I'll play Myrtle Beach TPC on Friday then the Dye Club on Saturday.  Then it's time to pack up and go home for Christmas!!!

... Oh to be that young and able top play ball like that again! When I was a lifeguard at Myrtle Beach between my sr yr of high school and freshman yr of college, we had a new outdoor court and some guys from a local college came over to play. We were playing 2 on 2 and they said they wanted to play against us but we had 4 players and it wouldn't be fair. I shrugged and told them "let's just play and see how it goes. If the score starts getting too lopsided ... we'll drop one and play you with 3". I really miss those days!

I don't know what's going on down here, but it wasn't much warmer here today. 38* when we teed off at 930 and when I got in the car afterward it was 43*. I don't even want to know what the wind chill was. It's supposed to go up to the high 60's by Friday. Crazy weather... from 3 layers to shirt and shorts in a couple of days.

Finally played decent today.  38/39 ... 6 bogeys and 1 birdie.  Every bogey was a near miss putt.  Ball striking was good, putting wasn't bad, just didn't find the cup on a few, including a couple where I was about to reach in the hole to pick it up when it rimmed out.  My partner shot even par and we totally demolished our opponents this week.

I finally got out today, shot 46/44:90 with 3 penalties. My shots were all short about 5 to 10 yards. I felt a little weak swinging the clubs. My putting was spot on. I was in the bunker twice, both times getting out. Think I’ll switch back to my Wilson Triton driver as I can stay in the fairway with it.

It felt very good just to be out.

It took a couple of rounds for one of our playing partners to get back to normal ball striking and distances.  Don't worry!

When I read this I did a little check on your posting history. I saw in the "Got problems" thread you tested positive. I'm so happy to hear you're feeling better, and able to get out and play again.

Don't worry, you'll get your strength back soon enough. I'll be looking forward to reading about how you play, and looking at the nice photos you leave in here.

This is going to sound a little crass, but played a garbage course and played like garbage 🤮.

I took some vacation time today because the forecast was great, but we got a really hard frost last night and I couldn't tee off as early as I wanted to. To kill some time I went to the heated range with great success, which carried over to about the first 5-6 holes.

Oh well, it's December in Michigan and I was golfing. As was the rest of the West Michigan population, apparently. Super slow play, and after the range balls I just started to stiffen up a lot waiting 5-8 minutes to hit every shot. I should know better than to play this particular course, it was in really rough shape and the greens were sponges, bumpy and long. I've never played particularly well there.

I'm getting a lot closer with my full swing at least. I'm now in the pull and pull hook stage with my "bad" shots, so I think that's one step closer to figuring it out. Hit a couple really great shots and I'm happy to see I'm about a club longer than I was in early summer with the Maltby PTMs. Weight training, SuperSpeed and swing work paying off.

Touch around the green was miserable. Had a lot of putts but really can't blame anything other than the greens. The one group that did let me play through wasn't even putting out, they just hit the green and picked up every hole.

Hope you get your strength back soon! At least you're playing golf, right? 😅

There are times where I wonder why I even left the house to play as well. It's never due to weather, though 😔
