How'd you play?

That's exactly what I've been working on lately.  Over time, I had gotten much too flat.

I started off flat.  Flat isn't bad, depending on what you do with it on the downswing.  Sergio and Rickie get flatter on the downswing.

Soooo, your secret to hitting the ball really well is playing the course backwards??  🤣 🤣 🤣

Well if yourLH that’s normal

Flattening your downswing is good.  Hard to do when your backswing is already too flat, which is what happened to my swing over a period of time.

Since it was sunny today, just a little chilly, my wife and I decided to play.  We also walked 18, unusual for her.  We were paired with two 30-something brothers, one was a birthday boy today.  Big hitters!  The birthday boy had brand new Srixon Z765 irons with the barcode still on one shaft; steel shafts except for a graphite shaft driving iron.  It was a treat to watch; he was very good with them.  The driving iron flew my best driver shot... impressive.  He was not as impressive with his TM M2 driver.

I was even on the front nine with 2 birdies and 2 bogeys going into #9... double!!  Crap!  I was +4 on the back nine going into #18... yep! double again!!  Just an 80, but I hit the ball well except for one shot on each if those two holes.

I eased my way around Desert Hills yesterday following the episode with my back muscles this past Saturday.  I had spent a little time late Wednesday doing some shoulder turn drills and it wasn't creating additional discomfort, so I decided to give it a go. My hesitation to swing full out showed in a number of shots pushed right but, all things considered, I'll take the 43/46 and the fact that I did not need more Ibuprofen last night as a win.  🤗

Well it figured, I’ve been hitting the ball really well last week+ and continued this morning until 5th hold and a deluge started along with 15-20 mph winds. At an out of Villages course so rented cart with no sides or club protection and of course no umbrella.
Breakfast with Bacon Boyz was awesome!!

You need to plan your off-Villages rounds better... check the weather!! ☔  Failing to plan is planning to fail.

True that! I didn’t do this week’s Friday schedule. Problem is too many guys (24) with excessive points so we were forced to go a brand new area in The Villages where the Cart Bridges (3) aren’t completed so no Personal Carts.

I feel sad that you don't have all the cart bridges that you need.   😂

One of the Boys @ breakfast had a Mountain Scrambler with extra sausage & gravy. My God it’s gotta be 3,000 calories and he was still hungry!

+7 front

-2 back - for a 76

the hands higher on the backswing move is starting to produce some really nice shots

Really solid round, best I’ve played in a long time. Conditions were strange, very  fine misty rain for most of the day along with blustery wind.

My whole game was solid. 12/14 fairways, 12 GIR, no 3 putts and shaved the hole lots of times. 2 birdies, 5 bogeys and the rest pars. Course management and concentration were both better than normal.

Getting the report in early as we got around in 3.5 hours (as a 3) would have been even quicker but we ran into the back end of the field for the last few holes.
