How'd you play?

Short game was terrible.   Front nine doubled all the par 4s,  par on all the par 3s, and birdie on the par 5s.    Back was all pars with 3 bogeys.    Driver, 3W, and putters were performing well.   Struggled with some pull hooks with my hybrids.

That 39 felt a lot colder than that this morning.

79 today with 2 birdies and one double bogey.  Wedge wasn't my best friend today -- left several short of my mark.  First posting day for us here.

Able to get out and play for the second time in 2020. No great expectations due to the lack of playing time and new sticks (to be reported on later). Scores were not kept as we hit multiple balls when able. We needed the swings.

But it wasn’t too bad. On the front 9, I hit 6 of 7 fairways. This went to my head and I tried to muscle everything on the back 9. Everything went left. Only hit 3 out of 7. Ah well.

It was great to actually hit off of some (dead) grass!

First round of the year today on Long Island at Bethpage Blue. Overall hit it solid all day and controlled the flight in the wind better than I have in a few years (guess heavier shafts were the answer). No big numbers and no penalty strokes for a nice year opening 75.

After a bad weekend playing with sore arms and shoulders from pruning, I walked 9 holes today with the Monday guys.  I can't remember when I struck the ball so well, particularly my irons.  It was 65º and sunny yesterday, but today it was a cloudy 50º with 15+ mph wind.  I was -1 after 4 holes with a birdie on the #1 hcp hole, but starting on #5 I was hitting into the wind and made 3 bogeys getting home.  Not a particularly good putting day.  Shot 39 (+2).  Happy with that!!

Great round!

Especially in those conditions.

Played Eaglebrooke GC in Lakeland today with Your fav and mine, Golfspy_CG2. He was in O town this week for a Billy Casper Golf conference and had a day to play. Let me tell you, this course is no slouch, a Casper managed course, everything was in place and the greens were rolling like sh$t on shinola. We both had to deal with water and O.B. On a course we never played before and put up some bodacious numbers. But we had a terrific time.

Great pics guys - finally got everyone home! I was even able to rescue a damsel in distress along the way - the lovely Laura who often starts takes my review pictures for me.

Missed playing with you guys - we have a 106 next Tuesday at Bayou, Foz. Wait until you see the greens there - we have a new Super. :)

Tour Exotics 3 wood is in the bag because we are allowed 14 clubs.  It's a great club for pulling balls out of the water or from bushes - you never want to put your hand into anything in Florida unless you are absolutely certain that it's safe.  There are rare wind conditions when I might hit it off the tee on a few holes that I play.

ventured out on a VERY wet course after 3mths of rain landed in 2 weeks here!

It was very cold but not raining. A 20mph wind made the 37* temp feel like 30*

Played surprisingly well, long straight drives (considering the temp and wind I was pleased with the length) but everything plugged so it was carry all the way.

After 12 holes it started to sleet then snow, trolley wheels got clogged with sleety ice but we carried on as 4 holes to go, fingers were numb, no-one shook hands at the end for fear of a finger snapping so it was fist pumps only. Sleety snow has a way of slowly wetting you unlike rain, so I was soaked thru by 18 but happy with my play.........except the 5 fatted chips and 3 thinned ones ffs! One day I will figure out a chipping method that works for me.

78 blows on a par 70.

ROLL On Spring...............please!

Played at St. Andrews Golf Links - well not the real one. Weather is still too cruddy in northern Ohio, so played 9 last night at our local Golfzon simulator. Ended up 4 over after 9. Wish I had the time to play the back 9.
