Went out to the Par 3 course yesterday as I didn't get the green light until 6pm.  Got to use the new Clicgear 4.0 which was great!  Also shot even par with a birdie and a bogey.  Made a couple nice par putts to keep alive.  Two from 10 ft. and one from 6 ft.  Quick swing down below from one of the longer holes - 160 yds.

Was able to get out this morning. Had a pretty solid round going, but just blew it up on a small handful of holes and wound up with a 92. Considering I've moved back a set of tees since moving and that I'm trying to incorporate a little more lead arm wrist flexion into my swing, I'm happy with the results. I few loose shots here and there from the swing changes, a couple unfortunate breaks, and a few mental mistakes resulted in two doubles, a triple, and a quad 😞. Everything else was either bogie or par, save for one lone birdie on #9.

EDIT: Going back through my round on Arccos to do a comparison of the two nines. I shot +7 on the front and +13 on the back. I definitely think I can do better on that back nine. The front was about as good as I could typically expect to play it, but there is some room there also. I didn't make as many pars as I normally would, but I didn't blow up on the holes I normally would either.

Played a few days ago in a brief reprieve from a cold spring. Grass was brown and greens were hard, but it was awesome.

The last two weeks have either been a down pour, a stomach bug, or strep throat, which layed me up about 6 days. In my work I wasnt willing to take it in with me so I holed up even more. Every one of them days were 60s and 70s with me in bed or on the couch.

Back to work today and in the rain, but didnt matter as I was playing rain or shine.  First shot caught the back fring on the #10 par 3. Easy par. Pulled my 3w on #11 and smoked one to the end up the fairway. I could tell tell after the way I swung my 3w that It would be a good round. Then I had to putt. Still a good round.  2 birdies, 3 three putt bogeys, and the rest pars.

Just felt good to not be indoors here in Oregon...golf wise anyways.

Did a first today for the first time in a long long time. I carried my bag! 9 holes! Actually enjoyed the hell out of it and the clackity clack as I walked.  Played +2. Drove well, putted decent, and really only hit one bad shot which was a 7i off the tee a little thin.

Not sure why Im hitting my 3w so well. but Im loving it.

74

7/14 Fir

10/18 Gir

28 putts

Hit the driver great, first hole sums up my day. Middle of fairway, good yardage for knockdown 9 iron. Hit right the right distance but pushed it 20 feet, which proved fatal.  Hits top lip of bunker and takes a bounce directly back towards me. Get to ball and it is wedged against bunker under a 6" lip. Had to take unplayable, drop it in bunker plugged on downslope. Nice double...

Played last Thursday at a course I don’t play very often the wildcat Lakes course and downtown Houston it’s a beautiful setting . As the name suggests a tremendous amount of water as the course name describes so it was a challenging. playing my new swing for only the second time with very little practice and just rehearsing the swelling in my backyard that’s about all I’ve had since my last round and played pretty well shot a 43 on the front end of 46 on the back I was pleased with that my driving is really improved with the swing charge I made two weeks ago. I’m finding the fairway more often and adding 20-30 yards per drive. Unbelievable

This Thursday I booked my group a round at another unusual course for the area Eagle Pointe in Mount Belvieu,Tx to the east of Houston.

First round out in about two months, played horribly and loved every minute of it. I honestly don't think I hit a ball that went higher than 20 feet off the fairway for the first four holes. I was topping everything, but it was advancing forward.

The course had some damage from the tornados that came through Easter Sunday, most notably the driving range.
20200421_121810-01-01.jpeg

It was a beautiful 74 degree day and the course was looking good. 20200421_150109-01.jpeg20200421_141701-01.jpeg

I did see an unintended consequence of the new rules put in place to combat Covid. Most of the holes still had the flag in with the cups turned upside down, except for a couple that the flag was laying down beside the hole and I wasn't about to touch them.

Iron game needs a lot of work and the driver was erratic, but at least the putter was on. Between rain and the pandemic for the last couple of months, I was happy to get out.

Got out for my first round in a while now that the golfing ban has been lifted. Ended up shooting a 76, so not too bad. Iron game needs a lot of work though, really saved my score around the greens.

Played to my 3rd 38 in a row. 3w hokding steady off thr box but struggling with long irons off the tee a bit. Just not catching them all. Tonight was 2 birdies and 4 bogeys and burned the edge on a couple other birdie putts. Bogeys are the result of my up and down game not up to par.

7:30 Tee Time beautiful morning. Shot a 5 over 41. Irons were a little “loose” but overall I’m not whining. Fareways were a bit sparse, greens slooww.
Sure will be happy when I can get in to see the Orthopedic Doc when this COVID 19 mess wraps up. His office is in the Hospital so that’s off limits.
