... Amen! 110* is my limit and with 14% humidity it is hot but really ain't too bad. But 105* with 35% humidity was too hot to play. Back in Chicago 100* with 80% humidity and you can't drink enough water to keep up with the sweat loss and I could not hold my grip without a glove, which I don't wear.

Pretty sure I lost 15 lbs the past two rounds low 90s ridiculous humidity. That AZ heat though is a different breed

... I hear ya and remember what it is like to be completely soaked after 9 holes. Last winter I played with a local born and raised in Phoenix. I asked if the low humidity in summer makes the temps less brutal. He laughed and said "Go home and set your oven to 117*. When the chime rings, stick your head inside and see how low humidity feels at 115*, AND the humidity in July/August can be between 20-39% so you are gonna be hot". But at least other than that stretch in June, this summer is much better than last summer and November through May is absolutely heavenly.

Yea I drove through there several times and when you say "cook an egg on a rock"....you could literally cook an egg on a rock out there....or grass doesnt matter. But like ya said I can only imagine during "winter" that its just amazing.

91 today with 81% humidity. Been like that for over a week.

Played Highland Park Golf Course with a friend this afternoon. Had not played there in 3.5 years or so, and I usually don’t play there as the course is over 100 years old which means it is short. 5800 from the tips. Par 70 (5 par 3s 3 par 5s). Shot 80 which was a little disappointing given the length (or lack thereof), but I can see my ball striking is really improving from my two lessons.  Still only hit 7/18 greens but a lot of that had to do with an off day driving. Rained right up until tee time so I did not warm up one bit, which tends to hurt my driving. I only had 2-3 what I would consider bad iron/wedge shots all day. Hit 6/13 fairways. 
 

Even though the course is not my favorite it does have a charm to it and some great views. Here are a couple of pictures:

Monday & Tuesday Execs and used the time to work out what was going on with the hand. 
Wednesday played 18 “Big Boy” and wasn’t bad.  Driver was fantastic BUT irons couldn’t control them at all.  Did manage a couple birdies.  
Friday Bacon Boyz Exec, really struggling with everything except putter.  Did eek out a couple Pars & Bird.

Im still going to play next week until Wednesday and see what new Orthopedic Doc says about XRays on hand/arm and Ulnar nerve.

Dunno, just started slowly losing feeling in Pinky & Ring Finger and moved up to wrist.  At the same time the Orthopedic Dr called me and said she was leaving so I was without a Orthopedic Dr to check it out.  Got a new Guy and he’s going to do my knee and his partner does hand elbows (who knew).  XRays Wednesday. 
This part of FL is always short of Docs and Covid has made things crazy.

I did not play all that great. Was pretty stiff (did something to my hamstring the other day and my back is super tight) was thinning all my irons and only had a couple decent strokes. Did birdie and par the last two which was positive. 

Highlight of the day though was how Matt played. Have not played in about a month or so and he came around towards the end getting off the tee. He had back to back birdie putts on 8/9. Missed both but he was pumped and par'd them.

Got a quick round in this AM with @Lacassem and our oldest boys…. Did not get off to a good start as I slept through my alarms and got up with about 0 minutes before I needed to leave the house.  Got up, threw on clothes, loaded the car and grabbed my coffee and some granola bars on the way to the car… got to the course at 7:16 for a 7:21 tee time…. Yikes! 

I was stiff throughout the round and hit no really good tee shots, but my approach and putting was good today.  Somehow I snuck out a +2 but it didn’t feel like it.

I was off the toe all day and two of those fairways were gross looking hooky balls that just so happened to start far enough right.  Second shots were generally OK though… just a weird day.

Putting was solid.  5 one-putts and 4 two-putts.  Don’t feel like I really left anything out there that I should have made, and I cleaned up to the center of the cup for most of the second putts.

The important thing is that the boys had fun, despite getting a little tired at the end.

We didn’t plan on them wearing team colors…. But it happened anyway! Haha

We got to spend a lot of time putting and chipping after too on the practice green.  It was fun to play some putting games and work on my chipping which I needed.

After a ~month drought, I finally broke through with a solid round!

38-39: 77 (+5, net +2)

5/14 FIR, 9/18 GIR, 29 putts

It's a pretty "easy" course as far as slope and course rating are concerned, but I feel like those ratings are possibly a bit outdated. Either way, still a pretty simple course but my game felt really really good again, which is a huge relief.

I actually put together 4 birdies, which I'm almost certain is an 18 hole record for me! And my two doubles were really silly mistakes - bad club choice on one and poor focus on the other. And my putter was on !! I had a number of 10ish footers drop, and one or two a little further yet. Just one 3 putt where I got a little carried away and fired it about 5 feet past the hole.

All around though, I'm feeling waaaaay better about my game than I was about a week ago, that's for sure!

Went back to the course I played last week's tournament at, after not playing since, and today didn't go quite as well. Shot an 82 (41-41) after beaking 80 last week. Putting was about the only part of the game that worked. Driver was ok other than a few horrendous duck hooks, and irons were flying good distances, just not on line. Typical C game after taking a week off. I hit my irons good I just always feel that I either hit 5 or 6 greens or 14+ with nothing in between.

Shot 74 (38/36), tested two more Vision balls during the round. I only made one birdie, but my putting was really good, burning a bunch of lips! On 15-17 I left each putt on the edge! Was a good round. My swing is really starting to feel somewhat “normal”. By-the-way, the Edel wedges were ridiculous! I was dead on the pins all day, just a little long, or a little short with the “misses”. Seriously. They’re ridiculous!

Played 9. I have been slicing my driver lately, so on the first hole I took that into account. I hit the straightest drive of my life. So naturally I’m in the trees on the left. But on the bright side it was another 9 holes without losing a ball. “So I got that goin for me. Which is nice.”

Fantasy Football weekend…scramble yesterday at Lexington Oaks, lost +1 to -1 with 9nl6 tw9 birdies between us. Today,  11 birdies between us, two 3 man teams.  We had 8, they had 3!  Was striking the ball very well today. And putting lights out.

Son and I played 18 at River Heights again with a couple of friends from work.  It was another hot one.  I played pretty decent today although the driver was generally not helpful, mostly slicing hard right again. Because of that I wound up using my 3 wood a ton and that played pretty well, along with my irons.  Wedges and putter were hit or miss.

Again I had a few pretty decent holes with some birdie opportunities and a few other holes that were absolute dog crap.  On the whole, I shot 107, son a 91, and the others just under 100.  We had a ton of fun as usual.

Mediocre 84 today; nothing went right.  Teeing off at 7am it was a 59º and lots of moisture in the air and on the ground.  Ball didn't go anywhere when it landed.  Also, this is allergy season for me, and my head felt terrible.  There I got my excuses out of the way!!

Lots of bad breaks and no good breaks.  I "crushed"  my 4W from the fairway of the par 5 #5 hole and clipped a branch that overhangs the left side of the fairway a little.  Not a big branch; not a thick branch; just a little twig actually; the ball kick straight right and ended up by a tree on the right with no shot to the green.    My usual reliable chipping and putting let me down.  I had 6 lip outs.  Two on one hole; my chip went halfway down the hole before coming out and ended up 5 feet away; lipped out the putt.  The only highlights were two sand saves for par.

Played this afternoon at my club in VA after my gun safety class for my carry permit. Slapped it around for even par off the tips which I assume will take my index lower. On the bright side I played my first round in years with graphite in my irons and I feel good enough to play tomorrow. Can’t wait for the new irons to arrive so I can play them with confidence.

... Crazy round today in 109* heat. 2nd hole from 129 I hit the pin at the flag. Rattled and sent the ball 20 feet away but managed to save par. Then on #10 I hit the pin again but this time it bounced straight back and downhill 10 yds off the green. Tight lie and a front pin so I had to run it through the Bermuda and it went 10 feet past, missed the putt and carded my only bogie of the day. 2 shots as well as I can hit them resulting in a saved par and a bogie.

... Thinking back over all my rounds since moving here last December I can't remember hitting the pin once, let alone twice. Although I was fit for T200's today so maybe my Cobra King Tours felt like they had to be at their best.

Haven't been playing much - yesterday was first time in a few weeks for full 18 and I played like cr*p. 51 and 52 - not sure what the heck is going on. Generally I'm on the green in 2 on #1. Yesterday I was in a green side bunker and couldn't get out - horrible 7 - what a way to start! Then there was that protentional birdie putt from 3' away on a 150 yd. par 3. Wife says I'm still too tired and not getting enough sleep. I attribute it to just going through the motions and not really concentrating on my game. 

Heading out to the ranger this morning - maybe I can fix a few issues

Weather kept you off the course or ??  If not, and the interest in playing is starting to wane, time to go do a fitting and get some new arrows... that is a proven remedy for a case of golf blah-zey .

You must still have a pretty fast swing speed Sam.  I tried the SF 80 and they felt like broomsticks to me.  More so than any other of the half dozen iron shafts I tested, the SF's were clear outliers for me.

Weather is a bit o an issue , being very hot and humid, however, I think it's more related to my oldest who's recovering at our house. Heart doc said he should be good to go home this coming Friday - so that'll be a big relief for all o us.
