Popular Post THEZIPR23
71 7/14 FIR 13/18 GIR 27 putts Backyard practice area is under construction again, no ranges open so hadn’t touched my clubs in a week. My game is just not conducive to that. First drive trees right, 2nd shot another tree, 3rd shot punch to front of green and chip to 6”, bogey. 2nd hole drive trees left, hit a great recovery to bunker pin high, exactly where I was trying to hit it, but that bunker is terribly hard. Leave myself a 29 footer and drain it for par. So at this point I’m figuring the round is going to be a complete struggle. Next 14 holes consisted of 4 birdies and a bogey. Step up to 17, snap my 3w left and cannot find the ball, have to go back to the tee and make a double. Did birdie 18 though to finish under par. All in all I hit the ball a little better than I expected. Amazing how a good putting round can keep the score low no matter how you hit it. +3.87 SG putting!! 11 Quote Stealth 2+ 9 (Diamana PD 60 S 45") TSi3 15 (Ventus 7x) G425 19 (Raijin 2.0 85x) G425 22 (Raijin 2.0 85x) ZX7 5-9 (KBS C Taper S) Vokey SM9 45 10 F (KBS 610) Vokey SM9 49 08 F (KBS 610) Vokey SM9 55 08 M (KBS 610) Vokey SM9 59 04 L (KBS 610) Spider GT Splitback 34" ProV1 #23 Twitter @THEZIPR23 "One thing Golf has taught me, is that my muscles have no memory." Grand Stranded
Ugh I've really been struggling with my ball striking the last two weeks or so, and I just can't figure it out. Yesterday was a cool, very windy day here, and my problems with it got exposed. I shot a 93, and that's with my short game and putting better than normal. I really need to get this sorted out... the driver is going nowhere, and the irons are going everywhere. Pretty much describes my game since we got to play last Tuesday. I've managed to scramble around for a couple of OK rounds, but not today. The wind was up today, but not enough to be horrible. I just couldn't get comfortable swinging any club. Shot 87 with 3 doubles. Hit 10/13 fairways, but no distance with any of them. Only hit 3 greens... with 29 putts. 8 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”
Louiczana
Played for the first time in two months last week. It was like I forgot how to golf, hit everything fat or sculled it. Drop kicking my drives. It was bad.But I birdied 18 so I got that going for me. Sent from my SM-N960U1 using Tapatalk

Josh Ross
Had a Jekyl and Hyde round today. Only had one chance at birdie on the front, then shot -2 on the back. My normal shot shape is a push draw but everything started straight today and then had my draw. Walked back over to my house after the round to get some more shots in and still couldn't get the ball started to the right, hopefully it fixes itself overnight! I had a habit of doing that as well. I always used broken tees lying around on par 3's, and if I found a regular tee like I use, I picked it up. Not anymore!! When we moved to our new house last December, I found a large bag of wooden tees that are likely 20+ years old, so... short. I threw the bag in a box, but I thought I would never use them. When our course opened up last week, I grabbed that bag specifically for par 3 holes. I'm not touching tees on the ground anymore. 4 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”
sp0rtsfan86
Finally the season got going last few weeks. We started men's leagueI go right from car to the course, opting ot practice 3-4 hours before we tee off when no one is a tthe course. We're not allowed to take out pins and there's no rakes so we can take the ball out of the bunker. It's a weird time here but seems like we are adapting although I'd like to see more ways of staying further apart. The weather has not exactly cooperated either, it's been 2 Weeks of temps 20 or so below average and it's been breezy when it's anywhere near mildish. Last round I played 18 I shot a horrendous 104 which was very frustrating. Came back and after a range session and more time around the short game area managed to shoot a 43 in league night. It's so nice to be able to get out and hopefully I can play a few more rounds in the morning when it's a lot more quiet. 5 Quote Driver: Epic Flash 12 Degree Wood: GBB 3 Wood Hybrid: Razr 4 hybriid stiff stock shaft. Jmikecpa
Got out for three holes today with my son. Why three holes, well sustained 40 mph winds made three holes enough. #1 playing straight into the wind was driver-5 iron for a 340 yard hole. #2 was driver-6 iron for a 354 yard hole. The par 5 3rd downwind was driver-8 iron playing at 530 yards. At least I got out of the house for an hour. edingc
Had the afternoon off for a lesson, and afterward stopped by my home course and bought my membership for the year. Walked on for a quick nine, which was not the right choice following a lesson (I should have been on the range, hah). Nonetheless... - 50 (+14) - 2/7 FIR - 1/9 GIR - 17 Putts (1 3-putt, 6 2-putts, 2 1-putts) - 1:45 Round Time (The twosome in carts in front of me was taking FOREVER.) Obviously, with the fairway stats, I'm still struggling off the tee, which was the focus of my lesson so now I have some stuff to work on. Putted pretty well again today, left a few right on the edge. The three-putt opened the round after having a 12-foot birdie opportunity. The greens are really fast for the time of year and unfortunately didn't account for that. Hit a handful of really good irons, some more decent approaches/pitches/chips, but really need to put the ball in better places off the tee box. All there is to it. It's frustrating to go backwards after spending time and money on lessons over the past six months, but to be expected, I guess. Lots of bad habits and technique to get rid of! CarlH
Well, an interesting day, if nothing else. We had the Seniors Stroke Play tournament today. Started off ducking hooking my drive on #1 par 5, Had to hit a 7 iron over the trees to get back into play. Hit a 6 iron maybe OB, hit a provisional maybe OB, hit another provisional on the green. Both balls were indeed OB, 2 putted for a smooth 9. Great start, Carl! Dunk a ball into the pond on #7, next shot off the green, chip and manage to one putt for a double. Take another double on #8 when I hit into a big cedar tree and end up with a smooth 46 on the front. 9 holes down and I'm already 10 over (playing to a 6 for this tournament, mind you!). Despite dropping another ball in the pond on the backside, I manage to shoot 39 on the back. Nice 85 for the round (83 posted). 4 penalty shots and 3 balls lost!!! I rarely lose golf balls, so to lose 3 new Snell MTB-X in one round is most frustrating. Even with several birdie opportunities, including 3 right after taking the 9, I couldn't manage to sink the putt for birdie all day.
