42/37 to shoot 79 today at Trophy Club of Atlanta. Hit 12/14 fairways off the tee.

Recently regripped to the MCC Plus 4 grips and having a lot more control off the tee. Not sure if it’s mental or actual science but will confirm when I play next week

I thought about hitting that place up next weekend. Haven't been before but pass it all the time when going to Alpharetta. Also pass The Manor a lot but I don't have a way in there yet.

By my standards I played abysmally today. Shot an 89 when I’ve been trending in the high 70s. My ball striking and decision making has been improving in my stride for scratch from a 5.  But I feel like I had a step back today. Front nine I put wedges in the water, and I haven’t putted well at all in my last 10 rounds or so. Too many 3 putts. My ball striking did get better as we went along, but I just don’t know why it doesn’t stick. It’s like I want to spin out and can’t square to the target resulting in a fat push fade unless I concentrate very hard on the club exiting perpendicular to my body.  Sorry for a bit of a rant. Just very frustrated today.

I hear ya mate... some days ya just stink! Like I did today as well..

What a maddening game sometimes. Makes those good days feel so much better though! Hopefully we can both jump off the bogey train soon.

Chased off the course by lightning and thunder...which was probably good because I wasn't playing particularly well.  Raining hard right now, which is good -- we need it, but we don't need the lightning.

Hit it more solid today than I have in months and still putting is holding me back. Shot 74 while hitting 15 greens, just not good at all. May give a short putter a go tomorrow just for something different.

Absolutely. This is the number that the focus should be on.

2 chips per round 1.26

Thanks for posting that! Coming from a competitive, + golfer that helps me put my own 2-chips (which I hate hate hate) (hate!) into better perspective 👍

38-42=80 course finally dried out enough to move back to the tips, and this score is amazing given I hit tons of poofie shots today. Back 9 anyways plays tougher at the home course, but today the greens seemed off too. Back 9 greens were at least a place slower than front and very bumpy.

This sounds completely made up but there's a random guy out there that can confirm it. I was playing a new course for the first time and was paired with a member. I went birdie, par, birdie to be -2 through 3. On the 4th I was in the middle of the fairway on a par 5 and wanted to go for it. He had a rangefinder in hand so I asked him for the number. I hit the ball right at the flag but it looked like it sailed way over the green. The closer we got I couldn't see the ball, but that's because it was 3 inches behind the hole! As I was walking to the green, the bottoms opened up and lightning hit a flag stick on the hole next to us. I ran up, tapped my ball in, and got out of there as fast as possible. Best round of my life, I was -4 through 4 and didn't get to finish.

Are you sure you weren't dreaming that you were the 'Bishop' in Caddyshack

42-39; had a rough day with the wedges at Iron Horse Golf Club in Ashland, Nebraska. Bladed a couple and even broke out the dreaded s-word on another.

I think when I get a wedge in hand I’m getting lazy and making an arm swing instead of a full turn. It would explain the hosel rocket and skulls.

The sh1t of it (and I know many of you feel my pain) is I won’t get to a course or range until Tuesday, which gives me over 2 days to stew on it. In the interim, the same four GOLFTEC drills I do over and over and over and over... Plus, week 2 of SuperSpeed Level 1 begins Monday!

🚨PB ALERT🚨

75

6/14 FiR

9/18 GiR

27 putts (0 3-putts)

It finally happened. Things worked in unison and for the first time I felt like I could actually be decent at this maddening game!

Sank a 15-ish foot putt on the first hole and thought, "oh no, the dreaded first hole birdie"

After a 2 bogeys and 2 more birdies, I stood -1 on the 9th tee box and totally blocked one to the right. Heard it hit the cart path and I would later discover that it went OB. Wasn't able to get up and down from 178 and made a disheartening triple. I thought that I completed the choke as I normally, inevitably do.

However, after missing the green 10y right on the next hole, I chipped in for birdie and got back on the "what did I step in this morning, is this really happening" train.

Kept it steady and I knew I was well below my previous best score of 79 standing on the 18th tee. Semi blocked one but got a lucky bounce and ended up here

Thankful that I didn't choke, I hit the next one extremely thin into the front pot bunker. Almost up and downed it but lipped the putt because it had a little too much pace. I knew I had beaten my previous best, but didn't know it was by 4 strokes!

Absolutely stoked right now!! Thanks for listening to my story, internet friends 😂

Nice work, sounds like the Stability shaft worked out well

It's funny because on the practice green, I couldn't make anything from like 10 feet. Like I said, I stepped in some lucky dog poop or something haha. My friend's friend who played with us was like "wow how many birdies is that?" That's not something I've ever been asked!
