Today was a good day.  First hole in one ever.  50° Cobra King wedge from 120 yards.  Hit just past the hole and spun back in. Shot 73 to tie my lowest round ever. Won my match 8 and 6

Today is my usual Thursday ( day off from work ) round of golf with my buddies. But we have had over 10" rain since Monday and here is our radar today.

 image.png.3a5419f5d63945092a58e3bbe9f93916.png50-60% thunderstorms throughout the day.

I have a Tournament set for Saturday and the forecast looks  good for play except for the Sahara dust coming in 😷.

My home course is in Pasadena as well...Maryland that is 🙂

And we had storms like that Tuesday night.

My wife and kids are visiting the in-laws and my new niece who was born late last night, so I am about to play for the 3rd straight day!

Played in a scramble Tuesday (not near enough social distancing out there)

Yesterday played with my college roommate who I hadn't seen in 5 years, and had a great time and shot 69. Something about playing consecutive days got me in a gear that I don't usually have playing twice a month.

Today I am playing with my 70 year old parents, socially distanced.

Fun fact, the stone you see in this picture is actually part of Stone Mountain which is over 75 miles away from this golf course. It runs underground that long which is pretty incredible.

Love those "fun facts" about golf courses .. just one more item in a long list of reasons why traveling to different courses in different areas is such a great aspect of this game!!

Oh and.. good round 👍

But serious note - isn't a *major* reason for developing a pre-shot routine to get your head into the next shot and SHUT OUT distractions??!!??

Played a one-day early birthday round today.

Shot +7 78 (par 71), no birdies but no doubles, no three-putts, and no lost/water balls.

32 putts (3 of them missed on the lip 🤬).

Need to do much more practice on my chipping.  There were quite a few holes where I had what should have been relatively easy up and downs, only to have a chip go by the hole to 9 or 10ft.  Tough to putt that much pressure on the putter all day.  Missed some "make-able" birdie putts that hurt (one from 9ft on a par 3), but were to be expected (not many people are making many 18 footers that often).

Did have a green-side bunker up and down on #18 for par (hit it to 2ft).

Wow every time I see your post I feel like am looking at a picture of  Daniel Berger! The way you lay off the club is identical and unusual.

It was a Great day to say the least, and the oddest thing, it was so easy.

crushed every drive, crushed all irons, putter was a demon, it was like I was smooth and easy, but the ball was just flying off the clubs. Narrowly missed about 3 or 4 other putts too. Got a chip in just off the green too. Just couldn’t miss...🏌️‍♂️

That is awesome! Congratulations on the new personal best!

Played a late afternoon round at Recently reopen Buffalo Creek. Course was in fantastic shape.. Greens where receptive, a little slow but they putted well.

Drove the ball well again, irons were good, I like the way I was hitting them today and chipping and putting were again pretty consistent.

For a solid 78.

3 rounds with the new driver and it has been pretty consistent. Lots of confidence!!!

Got in my 3rd 18 hole round of the year yesterday afternoon.   And it went much better than last week's abbreviated 14 hole round-due to rain.

Shot 96, which isn't great by any means, but as the Pros say, "I felt like I hit the ball much better than that"  LOL   I just literally made nothing on the greens, but rolled the ball well, they just didn't go in.

But the best news was I found my game off the tee after it went completely AWOL last week, hit 12 of 14 fairways, and the two misses were by a couple yards and still very playable.  And with me being a shorter hitter, I have to be in the fairway to have any hope.  Where I hurt myself was the 160 to 165 yard shot, seemed like I had that distance all night.  I did try to use a 5 iron for that as opposed to my 5 hybrid or even 9 wood.  It didn't go well, so that change will be made to the bag.   But between those poor shots and the missed puts, that's where the bogey's turned into doubles.

The best part it was a picture perfect afternoon,  sunny upper 70's and not a hint of humidity in the air.   Couldn't have ordered up a better day.

Yep, you definitely looked like you were swinging the clubs better than last week!  Weather was perfect for the round!

Got out for 9 today in between rounds of rain. Shot +2 and tried out the new Shot Scope v3 today. It's my first experience really with anything like this because I disliked having my phone on me with Arccos. Yardages seem to be somewhat alright, we'll see how it goes moving forward. On a level par 3 I was 144 (rangefinder distance) and hit a 9 iron pin high. That's definitely an accurate yardage for me. Shot Scope showed 140 so not bad. But here in the mountains we have severe elevation changes sometimes. I was on another par 3 that was 112, playing 130. I hit a smooth PW and was on the front of the green. Only PW I hit on the day and it thinks I hit it 100 yards because it doesn't consider slope. Probably won't be a big deal once I start logging more shots but I wish it knew slope. Either way the data is sweet and I was pretty happy with my round.
