Popular Post cksurfdude
Better! Not great, but better. Made some ok tee shots .. screwed up a few .. made some ok second shots .. screwed up a few .. made a few approach shots and a few 50 yarders onto greens .. and came up short and landed in the front bunker a few times ..... You know - golf Putting was ok, generally hit my line with generally good speed .. didn't drop everything but overall satisfied with how I was rolling it. GolfSpy BOS
4 hours ago, Golfspy_CG2 said: So I know this is the How Did You Play thread, so I'll get that out of the way first. 46 for 9 holes today. But now the real reason, I'm posting here. I put this in the T Series Iron thread, but in order for more to see it and hold me accountable, I'm putting it here as well! So first round (9 holes) with the T300's of the year. After geting the Mizuno Pro 223's early in the year, and the Wilson D9 Forged a few weeks ago, I gave each of those---well not a fair share, but a bit of a chacne. With a couple important rounds coming up this week, I took the T300 back out today to get the feel for them. I have just one question. Why, Why, Why am i even messing around playing any other iron. These were last fall when I got them, the best irons I have hit in many years, and they still were today after sitting in my office the better part of the last 5 months. One thing I noticed today, that I probably knew before but had forgotten. You know how those that love to play blades, say "They let you know exactly when you miss it' Well these do too, but in a different way. I hit a few near perfect shots today with a 9 iron and a couple 6 irons. They sounded as good as any players club out there upon impact and felt just as good, and most importantly flew high and far. Then Ihad a couple that at impact made a bit of a clack sound, something you'd expect form a big traditional SGI club. And the resulting shot was definitely less distance that the soid ones. Not really enough to get me in any serious trouble, but just came up maybe 10 yards or so short of thje green, or in once case barely on the fron fringe when it was a way back pin. So you could tell via the sound they weren't hit pefectly and the resulting shot confirmed it. So not near as harsh as feeling the sting all the way up your hands and arm when you mishit a blade or something in that category. So I ask again, why would I even put any other irons in my bag If you need a space to keep those 223's for safe keeping I know a golf bag they can sit in. Sounds like those T300's are just a perfect match for you Rob! ejgaudette, Shapotomous, Rickp and 2 others 5 Quote Epic Max LS 10.5 - Motore X F3 6X | Speedzone 5-wood - Ventus Blue 8S | TSi3 20* Hybrid - KBS Proto 85S SMS Pro 4-PW - Steelfiber i110S | MG3 Raw Black 50.09, 54.11, 58.11 - DG TI S200 ER2B | Pro V1x | NX9 Slope | Jones Trouper R | CaddyLite EZ v8

Since you asked, "animal waste" is one of the items listed in the Definition of Loose Impediment. Rule 15.1 tells us that a Loose Impediment may be removed in any way you choose. However, if your ball moves as a result of your removal of the Loose Impediment, you get 1 Penalty Stroke, and you must replace the ball on its original spot. Edit to add, Model Local Rule F-12 may be enacted to allow a player to treat animal dung as GUR, which allow free relief. Middler
Played pretty well yesterday (for me at least), shot an 80 despite 35 putts. Good thing I didn't let the first hole throw me, a par 5, on in 2 and then proceeded to 4 putt*** - the greens were WAY slower than I realized, took me a few holes to adapt. Hit 14 of 14 fairways, no lost balls, very rare for me. Stupid game...(same time tomorrow?). *** How to 4 putt (I honestly can’t remember my last 4 putt): Leave a 40 foot putt breaking uphill then downhill slider 10 feet short. Make sure not to leave it short again, hit it 6 feet past the cup (easy going downhill). Leave the uphill 6 footer a couple inches short (and right). Tap in for bogey…blame the putter. sirchunksalot
21 hours ago, fixyurdivot said: Well, I managed to sneak in my first round of 2022 at Madison Meadows today. It's been over two weeks since we got back from AZ, cold and snowing. But today was partly sunny with a high of 48F and moderate winds 8-12 mph. Blue jeans, thermal underwear, and pullovers was the attire. There were patches of snow from the storm last week, but overall no problem. I did have to lift several balls out of snow and fortunately missed flying into any of the large deep drifts as I'd have not likely found the ball. Not another person on the course, so I played 2 ball... to include a new one that was not among those tested at the MGS Lab. Holy heck does the game patina return quick. I definitely felt rusty and it was a mixed bag of flush hits and clunkers. I ended up with a 42/44 and a 40/45. I needed @DaveP043 for a ruling on this one . There were a few approach areas that had seen lots of deer, antelope, and elk this winter... natures fertilizer. My best hole of the day was #12 par 3 at 164, uphill, into the wind. I had it playing at 177. I hit my 5i and got both balls on the green. I missed the short putt, but made the long one... go figure . Fan Mountain is the peak above the pin. The photo dosen't do a very good job showing it but its rock face catches snow in a manner that resembles a pleated fan. I always loved this courses flag logo... wouldn't surprise me in the least if one went missing someday . Trying to keep myself in top form for the PNW Spy Meet-up in late June . I've got to say, you get to play in one of the most picturesque areas, imho. Those mountains are gorgeous in the background! It sounds like you had a pretty good day on the course, I always enjoy the days where I'm the only one out there as there's just something very peaceful about it. I'm curious about this new ball that wasn't involved in the MGS test. From the looks of it, I would assume it was one that might be a contender in the Hard Rock Challenge. Who knows, it might be the perfect winter ball and could be soft as a marshmallow in that balmy 48 degree weather. Either way, it looks like it would stop on a dime on the greens...if it made it that far. I'm glad you had a fun day on the course, Bill. Popular Post Kenny B
For our anniversary my wife and I went to Walla Walla Washington to play Wine Valley GC. Wine Valley has been a US Open local qualifying course and hosted the 2021 Northwest Open. We usually play here once or twice a year. Last night it rained hard and the course was a little wet; not bad, but some puddles in bunkers (which you really don't want to be in anyway). It was partly cloudy and 50º with wind 10-15mph... nothing to stop the wind on this course!!! I shot 84 which is really good for me on this course... 42/42 that included doubles on #8 and #9. Serious slopes on the greens and greens are very quick downslope and not so much upslope, so difficult to read the break. It also was very difficult to tell where the green ended and where the fringe and fairway started. I could putt from 25yards off the green and it was like putting on the greens at my home course!! Surprisingly, it was very easy for me to pitch ball off these very tight lies with my 60º/12º bounce wedge. The honey bees were out in force with the alfalfa fields nearby. I had a bee on every ball when I arrived at it in the fairway. My wife got stung on #7... yeah that probably caused my doubles on 8 and 9! Some pics for you to ponder... Popular Post JFish350
I was in AZ last week and got in 3 rounds. Played painted Mountain out in Mesa. The greens are sneaky quick with subtle breaks, I loved it and putted pretty decent. Couldn't get off the tee box with the driver so it stayed in the bag and I somehow managed an 84. next round was at Apache Wells, I've known about this course but never played it when I lived there as I thought it was for older folks and would be set up as such. Not so fast, it was a really fun course, longer than I thought it would be. Still had a tough day with the driver but was to stubborn to put it away and ended up with a 92. 6 penalty strokes plus a few more that just stayed in bounds and scrambling I'm pretty happy I didn't shoot 100. Chipping was an issue as well, not sure if it was the bounce on my wedges or more than likely user error. Third round was back at Apache Wells- 86 this day, no penalties and had a much better day with the driver, finally made solid contact with a sprayed shots. My chipping was much better with a couple oopsies. I noticed I developed a flip in my putting, meaning my wrists started to break, I never do that and quickly fixed that potential disaster and drained a few 15-20'rs. It was a great 3 rounds with temps in the 90's blue skies and a slight breeze. My playing partners were the best part. Got to play with 2 of my brothers day one, one brother, my wife and a husband wife couple my AZ family know were awesome who are members at Apache Wells. chisag, cnosil, Rickp and 7 others 10 Quote Sub 70 949 D 9* HZRUDS 60G 6.5 smoke RDX shaft. We played match play again and wound up tied after nine before we had to leave. I actually had a few pars and no hole felt absolutely terrible, so not a bad round. Hit a bucket nice and easy before the round and was feeling good about it. 1st drive on opening hole, hard hook over the cart path, down a hill, onto white tee box of next hole. I could have just teed off from there for the next. It took a couple of holes to regain my composure. I did hit GIR in 1 on a par 3 but 3 putted. I had 2 bogeys but all others were double or higher. Unfortunately, that was the highlight of my round. Kenny B
Our Men's Club have a 2-day Chapman and the course also has a Washington State Athletic Assn tournament in the afternoon, so we had to go out at 6:50am. My wife and I were paired with two nice guys that could hit the ball well... some of the time! OK, maybe it was just once in awhile. Since they were playing from the Blue tees, I decided to play there even though I now prefer the White (senior) tees now. One guy didn't get his ball to the White tees 4 times; the other maybe twice. I shot 41/41 for a very decent 82 with a birdie on the par 4 #3 hole which was the hardest hole on the scorecard until the WSGA re-rated the course last fall. I managed to take the par 4 #16 hole off where I took a double after a drive down the middle to 150y. From there I took 5 more shots to get in the hole without being in a penalty area, bunker, or even rough... What a dork!! One of the guys did make me feel good on the par 3 #17 tee box; he asked: "What are you... one over?" Popular Post rkj427
With the weather here still trying to decide if it ever will warm up, this weekend forecast was for 70's and sunny skies through Sunday afternoon. Had a lot of rain yesterday late afternoon through this early morning, so I expected the course to be wet, but not as soggy as it really was. Played Stoney Creek Metro Park course here this afternoon, which is now my 3rd full round this year, the first 2 coming late March in N. Myrtle Beach. Took a borrowed set of irons to try (Mizuno JPX921 Forged) and was paired up with a couple of younger guys who haven't played yet this year. Course was jam packed, took 3 hours for the first nine, but only 2 more for the back nine, as some slower groups left after the front. Played OK for as little as I have played in the past year, my driver is still working well, and fairway wood too from the tee, as I only missed 3 fairways all day. 11 of 14 is a number I would take any time, but today those I missed were due to big hooks into the trees or hazard areas, and made double a score to shoot for one those particular holes. Overall I played OK with the irons, especially with no practice before or idea of distance. I seemed to err on the short side for the first nine, and then seemed to miss the greens just left or right on the back nine. Shot a pair of 43's on a course that played 6500 yards with no roll at all. Weather back to the 40's during the week, and maybe mid 50's next weekend, so hoping to get another round in next weekend too. A bad day on the course is better than any good day at work! edingc, Kenny B, RichL85 and 10 others 13 Quote Driver & Fairway: Titleist TSR3 10 degree - Ventus TR Blue & TSR3 15 - Project X Hzrdus Smoke Black Hybrid: Callaway Apex UW 19 - Hzrdus Smoke Black Irons: Titleist T200 3G (4) & T150 - (5-G) - Project X LZ Wedges: Vokey SM8 54, and 58 Putter: Cameron Phantom X 7 Ball: Pro V1 & Maxfli Tour
Popular Post Ben_Howell34
Played my first round today with the new irons, shot 88. Took a few holes to get used to the irons but after the front 9 really got used to them. Distance and forgiveness are in a different stratosphere from my other ones. Had one birdie that I actually chipped in from probably 25 yards out! Next round will be on the golf trip!
