RoverRick 1,545
After my best round in years yesterday posted in the HRC, I expected to great again today. However, poor swings early on had me 4 over through 4 and poor decisions 6 and 10 cost me 4 more strokes. And playing too conservatively cost me 1 more on the last hole BUT a net 68 in League play added $156 to my pocket. All in all I should be happy. I beat my handicap by 4 strokes. But I feel like I left 5-6 strokes out there by not making good decisions and committing. DiscipleofPenick 1,851
84 from the blues at Windmill Lakes today. No birds, but no penalties or bunkers. Lots of toe hits off the tee and fat irons. Course was soaked for some reason. We've only had 2 days of rain since July 4th and the course was path only till the 5th hole and super soft thoughout. A 6600 yard course with no roll isn't fun. @MattF what the deal?Take Dead Aim 8 Quote Take Dead Aim
Jmikecpa 12,544
Played like today then again I maybe didn’t play that bad considering I took off the tip of my left index finger using a drill press yesterday. My golf got rained out yesterday and the wife wanted me to work on the honey do list and I apparently decided to make my hand. Lots of blood but thankfully just need to keep it covered and clean, glad I avoided stitches. Another good thing is the honey do list is now put away again for a few days . Popular Post russtopherb 6,032
Shot a 47 today, walking 9 with my son. I wrote it up in the Hard Rock Challenge thread. Between the heat and using a ball that could barely be called one, it was a bit of a grind but any round with my son is a good one. Here he is swearing he could put one right between the trees, while I hid behind one! ETA: I completely spaced out about this, but I hit trees with my drive on three holes in a row. The golf gods were with me, because every single time, the ball ended up in the fairway. OK on hole 2 it ended up in the fairway about 30 yards backwards, but still... fairway, baby! 12 Quote In my carry bag: Big Bertha Mini (the D7 is in time out) GBB 3W (lofted to 4W) V-Series Heavenwood Baffler XL 5i-PW CBX 54* iWedge 58* #10 Twitter: @russtopherb

CarlH 4,755
78 today, including a double bogey when I hit my second shot from the fairway bunker OB (par 5). Ball was fairly close to the left edge of the bunker and below my feet. Hit it well, but a slight pull that bounded through the fairway and ended up just outside of the stakes. 9 Quote Driver: G400 Max 9 degree Alta CB55 Stiff shaft Hybrids: M6 --- 3 (19 degrees), 4 (22 degrees), and 5 (25 degrees) Atmos shaft R Irons: Apex CF19 6-9, PW, AW KBS Tour Graphite 70g shafts R Wedges: CBX-2 52*, 56*, 60* wedges. Popular Post sirchunksalot 9,404
Got out today to play another round of the HRC and realized I had put all the qualifying balls in my other bag since we've been doing a little renovation in master bath and things are all over the place. The company was good, got the wife out to caddy for me another round and just enjoyed the outdoor time with her. The golf, well, let's just say I had one of those days I wonder why I even play this game. I started out great, making par on the first two holes before my game did a great impression of a raging dumpster fire. I was pulling tee shots, chunking my irons, and shanking wedges better than if I was trying. Ended up carding a 52, hitting 3 fairways, two greens, and 19 putts. The putter was solid with only 1 3 putt. Very frustrating day, but it is good motivation to work on the game and figure out what's going on. After the round, I took a couple of junk balls out to the driving range and hit a couple of 3 woods. Put a little more speed in my backswing and swung aggressively, striped them! That's golf.
