CarlH 5,378
The double bogey man was back at it today. +1 on the front (37), then on #12 dogleg right, I put one into the trees near the OB. Hit a provisional and didn't find the first ball -- double bogey. Then on #17, lost another one right and never found the ball (not OB)...went back to the tee box and another double. To add insult to injury, I double bogey 18 to limp in with an 80. Had one birdie for the day -- not enough to make up for the 3 doubles. Club Championship is in 10 days. I've got to get this double bogey mess out of my head! 5 Quote Driver: G400 Max 9 degree Alta CB55 Stiff shaft Fairway: M4 3W (16.5*), 5W (21*), 7W (24*), Atmos shaft R Irons: Apex CF19 6-9, PW, AW KBS Tour Graphite 70g shafts R Wedges: CBX-2 52*, 56*, 60* wedges. gavinski91 592
Last Friday had a decent round on the local course with my brother. Shot a 93 with a few bad holes but overall good play, finished the full 18 holes in 2:42. Went out last night with my brother to do 9 holes after work and was backed up behind a number of incredibly slow groups (including a 3-some of a couple and their ~7 year old daughter, none of whom looked to have ever golfed before). It was without a doubt the slowest round of my life - we would walk up to the tee, sit down for 5 minutes and wait, hit our tee shots, then walk to them and wait for another 5 minutes. Ended up finishing 9 holes in 2:27 (almost as long as the 18-hole round a few days earlier on the exact same course). The slow play and waiting meant I never managed to get into a groove, and couldn't stay warmed up - every swing felt like the first terrible swing when you step onto the driving range. Ended up shooting a 53, and really didn't enjoy the last 3 holes at all. 2 1 Quote Check out my review of the EXPUTT Putting Simulator Driver - Vapor Speed, 9.5°, Fubuki Z50 S Hybrid - Warrior 3H Irons - D200 5-GW, uniflex, std length/loft/lie Wedges - CBX 52°, 58° Putter - Torch 03 w/ GolfPride Tour SNSR Contour Pro grip Ball - Z-Star XV
Jmikecpa 12,825
Followed up my Friday round at Ballyowen with a 73 at Black Bear on Saturday. Was a bit up and down and had to birdie 17 and 18 to get it into the house at 1 over. Took off Sunday and went back to Ballyowen on Monday and finished with a nice -3 69 to go -9 in my two rounds there. I guess I like the 10th a lot with eagles both times I played it. To the traditional route during the first round and came in with a 5 iron. Round two I went a bit aggressive and was left with a 58* wedge for my second shot. Played Black Bear again today and posted an even keel 72. Highlight was watching my 14 year old son shoot an 81 off the same tees that I played. He put it all together today and if he was a bit better around the greens he would have easily been high 70’s. AmishJason 444
Well, I came down two strokes over yesterday. I'm inching towards breaking 100 finally. I actually had my first 2 pars today. Golfspy_CG2 26,566
The Cobra Pars and Stripes hit the course tonight. It did very well except for 2 bad drives toward the end of a very hot and humid day where I was whipped. I'll have more on it in the Cobra SpeedZone thread. Score was a sloppy 97. Sloppy in short game and putting. Driving and approach were good for the most part. 8 Quote TSi2 Kuro Kage 50g R Flex TSi2 16.5 FW with GD AD IZ 6 Shaft G410 FW 7 Alta CB R flex G410 Hybrid 26 degree Alta CB R Flex T100S/T200 Combo 5-7 T100S 8-P T200 TT Black Oynx R Flex SM7 54.08 F 58.12 K Heppler Tomcast ProV1X Play number
Popular Post TCUFrog 451
After stepping off a 5 hour flight from ATL to SFO, we immediately went to the first tee of Pasatiempo. Minimal stretching and no warm up led to a rough start, and then the wind started to pick up. By the time we arrived to the picturesque par 3, 3rd hole, wind was blowing 25-30 mph directly into our face. From then on, it was a grind for our group. Thick marine layer air and strong winds made the 6500 yard track feel like a 7400 yard us open layout. All in all, I tapped in a bogey putt on the 18th to shoot an 86. Beautiful course with diabolical greens and majestic bunkering that I wish Augusta National would go back to. Kenny B 25,293
Played Wolf again at the other course in town this morning. Ugh!! 6:30am tee time!! Clubhouse doesn't open until 6am, so not much time to warmup. The course has been neglected since last year when they lost their irrigation pump in the middle of summer. Tee boxes are weeds; greens have mushrooms growing in them. Big difference between this course and my course is how the ball reacts on the green. Our greens are very firm and the ball releases. These greens play soft. When I throw a pitch onto the green it checks hard. At my course the same shot releases 10 feet. Hard to get used to. I shot +4/+7 for an 83 and all bogeys; no doubles or worse. I am happy about that. Driver was straight, which is nice because if it isn't, there is lots of desert areas that are hard to get out of if you can find your ball. Putting was difficult. Hit a putt... ball goes one way; hit another putt... ball goes the other way. So frustrating!! The other guys play here all the time, so they are used to it. I don't like it. The bad news was that I lost 9 quarters. Every time I had a good hole, someone had a better one. That's Wolf for you. So the round with a cart cost me $2.25. Almost not worth it, but the company is great!! 3 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”
zrumble 550
My work on my ball striking is starting to pay off. I was 11/14 FIR, and 11/18 GIR, averaging over 300 yards with the driver. Had one we marked with GPS to 358. 4 birdies in 9 holes, then my short game showed some cracks and I had a few 3 putts and two awful chips on the back. Maybe score got in my head, or maybe it’s the lack of short game practice as I’ve worked on a few moves in my full swing. Little grip change here, little sequence change there, and my short game is a bit out of sorts. 5 Quote Stats: 5'4", Male, R-Handed, Moderate Tempo, Driver SS 115mph Driver: Taylormade SiM Max 9*, TM Ventus Blue 6X 3w/5w: Callaway X-Hot, S-flex Fubuki shafts 3h: Tour Edge EXS Pro, Smoke Black 80g 6.0 4i-PW: Mizuno MP-4, DG S300 Wedges: Titleist SM7 56* Wedge: Callaway Jaws w/ 12* of bounce
