Shot a 102. Bunker play hurt me again. Too many holes that took multiple shots to get out of the bunker. Driver was a bit wild off the tee as well.

Made a life changing discovery though. Hovering instead of grounding my irons. Instead of hitting fat shots or low balls, I was hitting high, soft landing irons. Hovering allowed me to make ball first contact instead of hitting the turf.

Today was a good day.  First hole in one ever.  50° Cobra King wedge from 120 yards.  Hit just past the hole and spun back in. Shot 73 to tie my lowest round ever. Won my match 8 and 6

I got a hole in one on the first hole today. Makes for a really enjoyable round. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy

I did not play well today.

I shot a 91 at Taylor meadows this morning, pulled something on my left shoulder on the 16 hole, I finished the round, but now there is pain and tenderness, I'm icying out and resting, I'm going to see the doctor Tuesday just to be sure that is not bad.

39/41 today. Couldn't get the putter to cooperate...lol. Sometimes it just isn't your day. So many lipped out and burned edges. Oh well..... there is always another day.

48/44. I was able to minimize my mistakes. Plus I was able to put in play what I had practiced at the range yesterday. So even though my score wasn’t great. I still feel that my game is growing stronger

Shot an 83 today, still working on a swing change. Wouldn’t normally be proud of an 83 necessarily on its own, but today I played PGA WEST Stadium course from the back-most tee placement today. While not the 7300 yard beast it can be, I controlled the ball for the most part and almost broke 80 the first time ever playing the course, if it weren’t for a double-double finish after a birdie on 16. Yes, the water ate a golf ball on Alcatraz island green from 165 yards. Man that green is SMALL.

I played there yesterday also.  Played awful shot a 98, 3 putted way too often and was not striking the ball well at all.

The course looked fantastic, it was 54 when we teed off mid 60s when we finished, it felt like fall golf.

Yep, when I took the down swing on my second shot, it felt like someone was holding my shoulder back.

It is still sore, but overall I can move on most directions but lifting my left arm above my head.

I'm calling the doctor's office early tomorrow and try to see my doctor and make sure there is no serious damage.

EDIT

The funny thing is that, I was driving the ball well, and hitting what felt like really well struck balls, then I started hooking the ball on the 7th hole, which is not my tipical miss, I finally got back to hitting straight on 14 and 15, I should have noticed that some was amiss.

We didn't play on Saturday since we played on Thursday last week.  Sooo, how do I have FOUR (4) doubles in the first 6 holes without hitting OB or into penalty areas??  I found 3 ways; poor ball contact, poor short game, and poor decisions.

Shot 48/37 for 85.  I decided to have another double at the turn... double BV and 7UP.  Should have had one before I started!!

My wife shot 44/40 for 84.   Arrrgh!

EDIT:  We decided to play an "emergency nine" after we finished.  Another poor decision... my wife started getting her heat stroke symptoms on #5, but wanted to keep playing.  I should have insisted we we head to the car.  On #7 she relented and we made it home to a shower and a long nap.  She's better today.  These 100º days can be brutal to her.

We are supposed to play at our sister course across the Columbia River on Labor Day; we get 1/2 off greens fees because of our membership at our course.  However, the wind is blowing, and it is forecasted to be 20-45 mph when we tee off at noon.  We may decide to cancel and play our course instead.  I don't see a reason to pay extra to play in poor conditions.

Been there with the doubles for no reason. Sorry to hear about the heat! Take it easy out there. I played in 120+ yesterday. Drove from shady spot to shady spot, only took one practice swing maximum, and had a gallon of water with me. Still came home and slept it off. 99381F04-D974-4C71-87AC-55A1BB5E5C72.jpeg.9897cecda41cabab8465a10e1b342c7c.jpeg

80.

2.09 putts per hole says it all. 71% of fairways, 67% of greens. Played back home in Michigan at Eagle Crest Resort. So nice to play bent greens again, but I had a hard time judging distance on them! Ha!

At least you get great rates at PGA West this time of year!!  I played there maybe 15 years ago.  I've spent many Julys in the Palm Springs area for meetings before I retired.  It's a great time of the year to play some very nice courses.  Temps are only slightly cooler here; we hit 112 this year.  Now we only go there in January!!  Headed there in 4 months.

Wellll....I went thru the motions this morning for 9 holes and never made decent contact on a shot. Everything was “off the toe”. Very frustrating and the hot humid weather didn’t help my attitude.
Taking off playing tomorrow and doing a serious couple of buckets. Hope I can get it together.

Anywhere in the Palm Springs Area is awesome this time of year, as long as you can deal with the heat. I paid $59 to play PGA West!
