I'm not sure when the last time I shot 76 (I know what you are thinking, poor Tom complaining about a 76)

Lol yep, considering I i just posted a 76 and that's one of my best rounds this year. Though I'm basically playing once a week. i'm going to get out Sunday too, so I'm hoping the good times continue.

... I introduced them at Poplar Creek in the Chicago suburbs and was gonna stay for a few songs as it was my 3rd concert intro night in a row and I was tired. Started off with Private Investigation but played the 2nd half of the song first and as usual with great bands live, just jammed the he!! out of it for about 20 minutes. "One more song and I'm going home" lasted through the encore. 🤣  Still one of my favorite concerts ever.

... One of my others was James Taylor and I was expecting an acoustic night with wall to wall ballads. He started off with Steamroller and that one lasted close to 1/2 hr and I had no idea JT could rock like that. In fact most all night was a Bluesy Rock n Roll jam. He sent his band and back up singers off stage and said "Now would be a good time ti use the bathroom" and sat down on a stool and played an extended version of Sweet Baby James in a soft and sweet diametrically different presentation than the rest of the night. And sure enough about 1/3rd of the crowd went to the bathroom/bar and were back by the next rock jam. That concert was nothing like I expected.

Great story! Saw Dire Straits live and Mark solo years later, not disappointed.  Even SWMBO liked both shows.

James Taylor, only saw him with the syrupy stuff.  SWMBO liked it but I think I fell asleep.  Pretty early in Taylor’s career, still married to Carly.

... I think there are only a handful of guitarists in bands that you could tell who they were in just a few notes because their style was so uniquely their own. Even Clapton as well as many other truly great guitarists would take quite a few notes to know it was them if he played with say the Doobie Brothers. But Knopfler you would know instantly, same with Joe Walsh, Billy Gibbons and Ry Cooder.

I don’t want to hijack the thread but maybe 1966-67 future sister-in-law worked and rented a house on The Cape  summer break from UCONN with other students.  SWMBO and I went up a couple weekends and there was a female singer who was getting kinda popular in Hyannis, name Carly Simon and her “friend” James Taylor was lurking. The “good ole days”.

Pretty sure I do the opposite of praying... Most of the time its quietly under my breath, but there is the occasional loud sermon that escapes after a less than optimal shot.

Owen and I played the front nine with our friends Paul and Mark at River Heights today.  After a lesson yesterday I was really disjointed today.  +5 on the first hole and +10 after three.  On the par three fourth I badly topped my tee shot but followed with a wedge onto the green and sank a 30+ foot putt for par.  Hot and cold the rest of the way.  Putting keeps getting more consistent, wedges and chipping was good as long as I wasn't in a bunker.  Irons were better than before.  After that atrocious start I wound up +18 54.

While looking for Paul's ball I almost put my face right into this guy and his web:

Might have peed myself a little...

On the whole we had a good time.  Owen and Mark played their usual game and Paul had some really good shots.

Good news is that is a garden spider and they shouldn’t bite you or be poisonous. But they are scary looking!

Quick morning round. Started +2 after four holes and nearly even as I barely missed two birdie putts. Then hit the drive of my life and get excited at a change for eagle being under 200 in on a par 5. Ended up doubling and the rest of the round I couldn’t get back focus.

Shot a 48. Driver started to fall apart after that par five. I think because I was getting tired (did super speed before round). up until then everything was straight. Setup the prgr on some holes and avg carry with it was 267 although I don’t think the long one got 44 yards of roll. The fairways here were wet. Putting was better. Only three putt was after a terrible lag put. 0-3 on putts 12 and in. Just pushed them all right. Irons were also good until that par 5 and then I started hitting thin.
