I saw him top a 5 wood down a hill from 160yds, jump over a little stream, bounce on to the green and roll in the hole. He was pretty stoned as usual and shot 103 that day. A second HIO came after a 30 yard slice hit a tree, bounced back on the green and rolled in the hole. Without the tree he would have missed the green by 40 yards away and in the woods. Ya gotta love the Golf Gods. 2 Albatross is amazing. I’m going to forecast your first HIO. Long par 3, water front and left of green, pin cut on the left. You’ll aim for centre of green, pull it, think it might be wet, get a kick back to the right and into the hole. After that you’ll have one a year for 3 years. Ya gotta love the Golf Gods. I'd trade my HIO for your index/ability/consistency in a nanosecond. I'm honestly just stoked that I had witnesses, even cooler that the group ahead of us waved us on. I always had a fear that I'd make one playing solo, or that I'd just never make one, but I had come to peace with that idea. I would love to consistently threaten shooting par, and even break par on occasion. My HIO was dog lucky: high, 3y cut into the wind that DUNKED in the hole (with the Covid foam in it) how can you get any luckier? As I mentioned, we were playing greenies and my mom's cousin had just hit it to about 5' so I said prior to hitting the shot, "well, now there's no pressure because I'm not getting inside of that." The proceeded to dunk it with minimal damage to the cup, almost a swish: Also, an albatross/turkey vulture is 100x cooler and while I had come within inches on at least three other occasions to making a HIO, the closest I've ever gotten to an albatross is like 8 feet, once. 11 1 Quote Driver: SIM Max 10.5 Fujikura Motore X F3 5S 3w/5w: TSi2 Tensei AV Raw Blue 75S 4h: CLK 22* Hybrid Tensei CK Pro Blue 80HY S Irons 5-PW: JPX 919 Forged Nippon Modus 3 Tour 105 S Wedges: RTX Zipcore Tour Rack 50, 54, 58 Modus 3 115 Wedge Putter: L.A.B. One of the last rounds I played this year with 3 others at a private club and there was a guy playing solo behind us (it was 40 degrees) and we could see the green of the par 3 we just finished from our tee box and one of the guys in our group went "holy sh*t, he just made that!".... the guy who hit the ball didn't even react and when he got to the green the 4 of us gave him some applause but he was kind of ho-hum.... Unusually warm day in Nebraska, but still high 40's/low 50s with some wind, so the course was pretty empty. I was supposed to play with my boss and his deputy; twenty minutes before the tee time he sends me a text and tells me something came up and they couldn't make it, but to enjoy my round. tony@CIC 18,559
Gorgeous day here in Fl. Light breeze, mid to high 70's and sun behind clouds some of the time. All 3 made it very pleasant. My wife and I played Cypress Creek, she wanted to play from the men's tees and just bombed her drives - a couple even came close to mine . It was a tale of nines for me; 47 on the front and 43 on the back. Drives were great, fairway shots not too bad. Putter and wedges are in "time out" for being non-cooperative. zrumble 550
Local course was brutal today with firm but just watered greens and 25mph wind gusts. Kept it together and shot 79. Had some absolute bombs with the new (to me) SiM Max. Had 2 330y+, one 375y and I put one in the green side bunker on the 414 yard par 4. Only reason the scores weren’t lower was the putting. I watched balls stop at the hole then roll 14 feet down the slope. My buddies shot in the 90s, and I only kept it low-ish by overpowering the holes where I had wind help. 3 Quote Stats: 5'4", Male, R-Handed, Moderate Tempo, Driver SS 115mph Driver: Taylormade SiM Max 9*, TM Ventus Blue 6X 3w/5w: Callaway X-Hot, S-flex Fubuki shafts 3h: Tour Edge EXS Pro, Smoke Black 80g 6.0 4i-PW: Mizuno MP-4, DG S300 Wedges: Titleist SM7 56* Wedge: Callaway Jaws w/ 12* of bounce
PMookie 13,085
Played on a sim (Nip it Golf) in Longview, TX, today. Second time here. They have a TON of great courses, so today I played the Plantation Course at Kapalua since it’s one of my favorites to watch on TV. Plus, they say it has the widest fairways on Tour, so talk about building confidence! Ha! Shot 3 over from the blues. I’d love to see it in real life because the undulations in the fairways were CRAZY!!! So cool. Then I had just enough time to play the back 9 of Torrey Pines. Picked it since the tournament is there this week. MUCH narrower fairways. Shot even. The sledgehammer was money again! So good. TR1PTIK 2,880
Put up a monster score of 104 (ESC 100) yesterday at Tangle Ridge in Grand Prairie, TX. It was my first round of 2021 and first round with the new irons and putter as well. Driving was erratic at times causing a few penalties and forcing me to pitch out from a bad spot two or three times. Irons performed surprisingly well. I did notice a slight drop in distance, but probably won't be more than half a club when the dust settles. Highlights were 7-iron on 2 and 6-iron on 10; both of which stuck pin-high about 12-feet left of the hole. Short game was average, but serviceable seeing as I haven't played in a month. Putting was the worst. It's the first time I've had the new putter out in daylight on a green and I didn't really start to get acquainted with it until the 13th hole - including an hour of practice before the round. Once I got the putter moving right though, everything came together in terms of feel and distance control. Highlights were a downhill 30-footer for birdie on 13 that trickled over the front edge, and an uphill 20-footer from just off the green at 15. Thought I was going to make another long putt on 18, but it turned in the last foot or so to miss by a couple inches. All said and done, 42 putts... OUCH. The greens at this course are diabolical to say the least and pin placements are oftentimes downright cruel, but considering my previous round (with a different putter) required just 28 putts and my previous average was 31, I clearly missed the mark. That's golf though! At least I snapped a few pictures (including the approach on 10): 5 Quote Driver: Mizuno ST190 9.5* Aldila RIP Alpha 60 S Fairway Wood: Mizuno ST190 15* Fujikura Atmos Blue 6S Hyrbrid: Mizuno CLK 19* Fujikura Speeder EVO HB Irons: Bridgestone J40 CB (4-PW) Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 Wedges: Bridgestone Tour B XW-1 50*, 54*, & 58* Nippon Modus 3 105 Putter: Cleveland Huntington Beach SOFT Premier 4 34" Ball: Snell MTB-X Bag: 2017 Titleist Players 5 Stand Bag

Popular Post chisag 12,161
... Got hit by a golf ball today. Last second I saw a ball just before it hit my arm straight on after one hop, stung pretty good. Guy hit a low hook from the other fairway and kinda yelled fore AFTER the ball hit me. Guy came over and I said "Next time, please yell fore before the ball hits someone so they have a chance to avoid it." He replied "I didn't think it would get to you" so nowhere to go with someone like that as he didn't even say he was sorry. One of my pards said "You hit him and we heard the smack it was moving so fast, the least you could do is apologize." What he said next verified my nowhere to go with someone like this "hey he got hit and my ball didn't go as far as it could have if he had not been in the way. We both loose". CJ started to walk toward him and I said just let it go. He he isn't a hot head so he just sighed, shook his head and we moved on. I still went. Actually, people like that are not far and few between. Happens quite a bit at our muni. The people that apologize are the rare ones. In the 5 years that I have been a member, I have averaged about 25 balls a year that land within 10 yards of me. Most of the time, the people hitting them don't know you are there, and being next to an interstate, no one would hear a Fore! It's the one thing about my course that I don't like, and although I joined again this year, next year we might move. 1 6 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”
