Popular Post Vegan_Golfer_PNW 4,671
Shot a 103 in pouring rain. Had 3 pars and 5 bogies. Would have scored better had I not been intentionally using driver on anything but a par 3. Putting also suffered. Greens were super fast and my speed and green reading were super poor. Popular Post juspoole 3,326
Got to play Oyster Reef today for my second and last round while in Hilton Head. Fantastic course and my second favorite thus far of about 6 total courses that I've played in Hilton Head so far. Could not hardly drive it on the planet today. Too many penalty shots or side ways chip outs. Could have been a solid round because my iron play was very good and so was my chipping/pitching. Should have taken more 4 irons off the tee. Greens in regulation look low, but that is because I was having to chip out and play my third from the fairway or in one instance my Fourth due to an OB ball. Popular Post Chip Strokes 6,755
checked out a club here in town today. gorgeous track. i hit the ball really well but didn’t score great. i attribute that to a combination of not knowing the course, and not putting well 52/48 for an even hundred. i drove the ball great, but ended up with a bunch of penalties because i had no idea where the trouble was. pulled driver on a dogleg right that i would’ve sworn had enough room. i flew the fairway, the cart path, and watched it bounce in the middle of the parking lot up on to the cart barn roof. still, can’t be mad about how well i hit it. 11 2 Quote SIM2 8º | KuroKage XD 70TX SIM 3W 14º | Fujikura Atmos Black Tour Spec 9TX SIM2 5W 18º | Fujikura Ventus Black 10X U500 2i | Fujikura Ventus HB Black 10TX T100 4-PW | Dynamic Gold X7 SM6 52* SM8 56* SM8 60* | Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 DW | BGT Stability Tour

Popular Post blackngold_blood 6,880
Got out this morning for my maiden voyage with my new epic speed and RTX Zipcore full face wedge. The wedge is simply awesome and even after 1 round has found a permanent spot in the bag. The driver was hit and miss but the score was amazing for me. I wasn't paying a huge amount of attention to the score as I was more preoccupied by the results of the driver and wedge. Ended up with a 36/37 +1 73. I noticed I was 2 under going into 16 and finished bogie, bogie, bogie. . I had 4 birdies, 5 bogeys, and missed 3 eagle putts! I drove 2 par 4's with the Epic Speed but was directionally challenge with it for most of the round. The wedge was the star and lead to the great round. 10 2 Quote What is in my Bag Boy Revolver Driver: PXG Gen2 0811x 10.5* set to small + with a VA Composites Nemesys 55s @ 44.75" Fairway: F85 5 wood with a UST Elements Chrome 7F5 @ 41.5" Irons: Testing the Titleist T200 irons 4-W2 with Project X LZ 5.5 shaft -1/2" and 1* Up Wedge: Titleist SM7 56* with Project X LZ 5.0 shaft Putter: Custom Futura X5 flow neck with a UST Frequency Filtered shaft -1" with a SS wristlock grip

Shot a 41 but really wasn’t taking it seriously, just having some fun with my oldest daughter and hoping she catches the bug someday! Popular Post RollingGreens 2,359
I finally put together my best round of the year 42/40. Started off the day with a double but after that only bogeys and pars the rest of the way. Driver was great all day. Irons weren’t awesome but they were good enough to give me a chance all day. Wedge play was phenomenal, got up and out of the bunkers with ease! Popular Post DiscipleofPenick 4,038
75 this morning. My plans for cancelled twice so I called my home course knowing they had an all day outing starting at 7 AM but the pro said I could play as long as I tees off by 630, I got there at 6 and just went. Moved up to play the whites just to make sure I stayed out of the way. Left the yardage book in the car and range finder in the bag, just went by feel. I wonder if that tells me something... Front was -1 35, could've been lower. Missed 2 birds inside 8 feet and had some wedge shots I could hit closer. The birdie I made was a 40 for bomb though. 4 bogeys on the back. Back 9 plays much tougher and for the most part the whites are only 10-15 yards in front of the black so all the holes play the same way. This was a big confidence boost today. 15 Quote Take Dead Aim Driver: PXG 0211 10.5* Fairway: Titleist 917 F3 15* Hybrid: Adams Idea Pro Boxer Gold 18* Irons: Titleist 714CB 4-PW Wedges: Vokey SM5 & SM6 50/54/58 Putter: SeeMore X2 Costa del Mar Ball: Srixon Z-Star
Popular Post Grand Stranded 3,045
Maiden voyage today with the Mavrik irons and I’m very happy with the results. I’d only been hitting them range balls, so I was a little off with my distances, but not by much. It was also the first time I played in 7 days, and 3rd time in a month, so that was a factor also. A bad storm called a halt to league play just as the A flight made the turn, so we headed to the clubhouse and went by 9 hole scores. I eked out 4th in a TB and won $40 shooting a 42. I hit more good iron shots in 11 holes than I probably have in any 18 hole round with the 0211’s. The Mav’s feel better and are way more forgiving. I’ll call it a push as far as distance goes with maybe the slightest edge to the PXG. I’ll gladly give that up for the higher, straighter ball flight I saw today. It felt so good to hit my irons well again. It’s been so long, I’d almost forgotten what that felt like. Hopefully the worm has turned, and my iron game is finally headed back on track. 13 Quote G425 Max 9*(set at 10*) Distanza Rogue ST Max D 16* NVS Orange Hy-wood 18* Cypher Rogue ST OS 21* Cypher Halo Launcher XL 5-DW Cypher CBX 54* & 58* DG 115 L.A.B. I had played the rogue X for 3 years before I bought the 0211’s (big mistake) I wanted to get another set of the X’s but couldn’t find them, so I tried a few different GI irons, and the Mavriks worked the best for me. I’m familiar with the Callaway “look” at setup, and I guess I need the forgiveness this category of irons gives me. The distance I get with them is also better than most I’ve compared them to. That’s important but I’m more into getting a nice accurate high ball flight than a few more yards. CarlH 8,310
Final day of the Diamante Classic and my partner and I played miserably. 2 man scramble was the format. Opening hole is a par 3 at 153 yards. Both of us on the green and my partner has the easier putt and is closer at 7 feet ... we both miss the birdie putt and the rest of the day went downhill. Although we did birdie one hole, we basically stunk it up, missing putts and unable to score. By the time we had 5 holes left, the 3 days of high temps and humidity got to both of us. I was simply exhausted and had nothing in the tank. After a 2nd place finish in Better Ball, a first place finish in the Stableford, we finished DFL in the scramble. Our first place finish on day 2 earned us the right to play for the elimination round to determine the final pairing for the championship. The format was alternate shot and my partner led off, putting me in the fairway bunker, 147 yards away from the pin. I hit a 7 iron flush, but pulled it to the left of the green. His chip failed to check and rain out 15 feet past the hole. I made a good putt at it, but left it 6 inches above the hole and we tapped in for the bogey. Of the 6 teams in this grouping, we were eliminated with the other team that missed the par putt. 8 Quote Driver: Rogue ST Max (10.5* set at N) -- Mitsubishi Tensai Blue 55g R shaft Fairway: Rogue ST Max 3 wood (16.5*)-- Mitishibishi Tensai Blue 55g R shaft Hybrids: M6 3,4, and 5 -- Fujikura Atmos R shaft Irons: Apex CF19 6-9, PW, AW -- KBSTour Graphite 70g shafts R +1/2 inch 3* up Wedges: CBX2 56* and 60* True Temper Dynamic Gold Wedge shaft Putter: Stroke Lab 7S Ball: Maxfli TourX Golf Bag: Pioneer My Photography can be seen at Smugmug

Popular Post bens197 12,388
Every year, 3 of my friends get together for a morning foursome where we play a 2 man scramble head to head. How we play is a little unique but it's meant to just be fun. After we figure out who wins, the winnings sit on the bar and we use that to pay for beers and food. Here's how we do it... Par 5's from the white tees Par 4's from the middle blue tees Par 3's from the back black tees My team lost 2&1 on a ridiculous 30' putt from my buddy Matt. It's fun and a good way for four dads to get a nice break from everything. 11 1 Quote Titleist TSI3 LAGolf DJ 65 5 TaylorMade SIM2 3 wood Fujilkura Ventus Blue 7-X Mizuno HMB MP20 3i Nippon Modus 3 120S Mizuno Pro 223 4-P Nippon Modus 3 115X Vokey SM8 50, SM9 54 & 60 Nippon Modus 3 120s Scotty Cameron Phantom X 11.5 Srixon Z-Star XV Divide Official 1/12 testers for 2022 L.A.B.
