Holy (expletive deleted) (bleeping) (blasphemous invective) crap .. .. I was born into the wrong generation...

Sooo jealous of you WFH people!!!

It took me years to get to that point and having a kid.  I ran construction companies and finally had enough of 80hr weeks and 2am phone calls for floods/fires. Got into real estate and haven't looked back. Work my a$$ off but enjoy the balance.

Rough nine today. Played back nine of a course I haven’t played in two years. First time this nine from tips. This nine always game me trouble. It’s tight and requires shaping or dropping down several clubs on some holes from the tee, which I didn’t do and it got me in trouble. Aim points were off on some tee shots which lead to penalties or punch outs. Did have three pars though. Just too many other big numbers.

Got out this morning to play what I thought would be a quick round but the course was busier than normal.  After playing the last few days, I know what I need to continue working on...  Quit firing at flags and go for the center of the green.  I wasn't missing by much but it is making getting par much more difficult than it needs to be.  Shot an 8 over 80 but only hit 9 GIR today.  My driver however did much better today and I was keeping it in the FW when I was hitting driver.

Played mount vintage in Augusta s.c. shot 45,46. Very hilly course, I could have done better if I didn't have so many down hill lies. I just can't hit the ball solid off of those lies. I did win 3 skins and our team came in second place so it wasn't all bad. Playing the river course tomorrow. Weather has been beautiful 70s and sunny.

Played my second round this weekend earlier today. Tee time was 12:00PM noon, and weather was 48 degrees on the first tee, but the sun came out and it made it to 53 degrees by the time we finished. Played very well, a lot of leaves made fairways and greens paramount to not only scoring but also having any hope of finding your ball. A lot of pictures posted here, as Jason @sirchunksalot seems to love the changing colors of the trees that the fall season brings.

Shot a 75 with 1 natural birdie on hole 10 where I stuck a PW from 118 to about 3 feet and made the putt.

Hit 9 of 14 fairways, those missed were not too far off or bad except for a left miss where I had to punch out leading to a bogey on the par 5 11th hole.

Hit 14 of 18 greens, so irons were dialed in too, and a long drive of 274 (wind aided).

Hoping to get more rounds in here, as long as the temperatures stay above 40 and the precipitation stays away.

It looks like another beautiful fall day and a nice one to play golf, Robert. I appreciate the photos, that's a beautiful course and I love seeing the fall colors framing the backdrop.

It sounds like you had a great round, those fairway and greens numbers are phenomenal!

Not so well this weekend.  I hit the ball OK but couldn't buy a putt.  I offered the golf gods $20 today and they didn't seem interested.  🤨  Saturday I miss 6 what I would call makable putts for birdie and a few more for pars.  Shot 80... 41/39.  Today I didn't hit my driver as well as I did on Saturday, but scrambled my way around the course for an 81... 43/38.  I'm not sure why I wasn't putting very well.  Last weekend I could see the line and make my stroke and made many putts for par and a few birdies.  This weekend I could see the line, make my stroke on that line and nothing... I mean nothing dropped.  Doesn't look good for next weekend with overnight lows near 32º.

We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

Got out with @DiscipleofPenick and a couple of his friends yesterday at Manakiki (a Donald Ross-designed course that was originally private, now public). It was typical fall golf in NE Ohio (mid to upper 40's with decent wind) and the greens had just been punched Monday. It was my first time there and I really liked the layout. Driver was generally very well behaved until 14 - then I started leaking oil on the last few holes. I ended up shooting 41/44. My approach game is brutal and I need to figure it out. I only hit a handful of solid irons and otherwise made every mistake possible - fats, thins, pulls, push/slice. Not good. Given how tight some of the holes are, I am actually quite pleased with the score.

Ya know every time I post in here I really want to say.. 'gee what a good round I had today ' aannnddd...

Today is not that day, either 🤷‍♂️

First hole was decent on in 2 but then I 3 putted; after that I was kinda all over the place... Actually turned into a practice round soon anyway (aren't they all, really?) after adjusting my driver and taking a Mulligan off the tee.

Fortunately I woke up for the last 3 holes and played something more closely resembling golf 😝

... par on the short Par 3; par on the single Par 5 on the front 9; almost par on #9 after another not so good tee shot - really good punch out to get back in play and near the front of the green, good wedge a little left of the back pin .. but then just kinda choked on the first putt... 🤦‍♂️

Some days are definitely like that!  I played the other day and had a decent front 9 and then went on to bogey every hole on the back.  It turned into a practice round of just getting out of trouble and shot shaping.  LOL

Set a new 9 hole 🚨PB🚨 today of 41! 4/7 fairways hit, 4/9 GIR (including a Par 3 which I have always struggled with), 17 putts (ZERO three putts). Hit some really good wedge shots with my 60°, including to about 4’ on the par four 5th which I made for birdie. Awesome 9, super fun, hoping to get on the back 9 this week to pair it for a full 18 score. Screenshot of Arccos summary included.

As for the tee box woes, I have had the same with my driver until lessons. If it's off, I'm using 3 wood or DI to keep in play.

The 3 wood is my best buddy right now. Got away with a hybrid on a couple short ones also. It really is time for a driver lesson. I try to remember that golf instruction is expensive because it's worth it.

Played my second round with the Shot Scope X5 in the afternoon.

It rained for the last 3 days in my area so the course was drenched and the greens hadn’t been cut for a while. Consequently, they were very slow.

Nevertheless, ended up logging a nice 82(+10) with 32 putts and 2 birdies. Incurred 4 penalty strokes total and 2 on the very last hole… I managed to get myself out of bad situations off the tee by punching out and being quite successful of the following approach shot and short game.

Happy to see my stats in comparison to 5 handicap players!

@rkj427 nice pics and great looking course. Do they keep the leaves at bay?  In the Saginaw area they are starting to drop quickly now. Time to load the leaf blower as my 14th club.

Thanks for the compliment, and they only "keep the leaves at bay" by mowing. Otherwise, they seem to be all over, even greens, but those on the green I will move from my putting line area to prevent any natural obstacles from impeding the putt.

It really depends upon the weather during the week, as  I typically can only get out on the weekends due to work and limited daylight hours now.
