Popular Post JeremyD 225
Played Foxfire Red Fox course this past saturday. Hit ball better than I had in a while. 78% of greens. Had several birdie putts, made 2. Also dropped a Triple, Double, bogey, and 13 Pars for a 75. helped our team win some cash. I enjoy playing the course. It's kind of wide, and fits my 250 yard drives perfectly. I played it well a couple weeks ago, and felt confident when i started. Also won 2 pins and our team won 3 skins. It was a fun day even though it was 95 degrees. 10 Quote When my wife asked if I wanted to leave Maine and move to where she grew up, I couldn't say no to Pinehurst, NC. And this guy that almost Jordaned We went -9 and after the 1st hole of the day we birdied (20’er on a par 3) was hoping for lower but alas wasn’t meant to be. Beautiful day in the sun for a good event. One of my handful of decent drives: also what could be one of the last putts with the odyssey putter for anyone following the @Fujikura Golfshaft thread. Such a great time! Here’s the Arccos down and dirty on our team’s play: Overall we played really well. Two teams finished ahead of us a -10. While I didn’t track every shot by which person hit it I did go back and look at drives because I had a pretty prolific day off the tee with the Epic Max LS and Motore X combo. Now, There are certainly some downhill assists here, but nothing too crazy… but I was striping them pure today. A lot of shots had nice tight draws and I’m really feeling like I can swing smooth and get great results with this combo. We ended up using my drive on 7 of the 14 non par three holes. My average on those holes was 287.57! I’ve never had a day like that off the tee. Also interesting to note, I took driver on every single par 4 and 5 even if it meant needing to try to take one over a tree to cut a corner. I feel really confident with this combo right now. We started on #15, par 3s excluded: But it was a DAMN good thing I had Mark, Pete, and Tim there to hit approach shots because Those were not nearly as good for me, although I did card one natural birdie on #13. It wasn’t so much that I hit it close to 300, it was the consistency I was seeing. I doubt that I’ve ever had 4 drives of 290+ in the same round. Usually I’ll mix some poor strikes in there but really didn’t see anything significantly offline and even when we didn’t use my ball it was more because of the angle in or rough vs fairway than that I was significantly behind. I’m really hoping to keep this rolling in my next round, and on the plus side the Rapsodo unit arrived today for the forum testing so I’ll be able to get some more numbers to share soon! 12 Quote Epic Max LS 10.5 - Motore X F3 6x | Speedzone 5-wood - Ventus Blue 8s | TSi3 20* Hybrid - KBS Proto 85s KING Forged Tec 5-GW - Nippon Modus 120x | KING MIM Black 52.12C, 56.10V, 60.04W - Nippon Modus 125 Wedge ER2B | Pro V1x | NX9 Slope
Popular Post JerryB 1,152
Son and I played nine this morning. He played bogey golf which is pretty typical for him. He wasn't happy with his round which is probably a good sign for his near future. I, on the other hand, played near triple bogey golf. Lost a bunch of balls. How can I keep an off white, scuffed up old Slazenger for half a round and still manage to go through a half dozen balls? Weather was beautiful, didn't see another golfer the entire time. We did appear to be following the guy dropping some blue chemicals of some sort so balls and fingers are all blue. Weather was good, golf was bad, 10/10 would do it again. 10 Quote Callaway Rogue ST Max D driver Tour Edge Exotics 3 wood and Bazooka 7 wood Titleist 21° and Grand Hawk XR3 hybrids Adams Idea 6-PW Titleist Vokey SM7 50° 54° and C3I 65° wedges Ray Cook Silver Ray IV putter

Popular Post HeathS16 2,298
Got to get out there again today. Posted another good score, back to back rounds in the 70s! I didn't drive it as well today but I made everything I looked at. Like seriously if it was on the green it had a great chance of going in. 8 One-putts! The best part was that I paired up with a guy and he asked about the golf ball I was playing. So I got the opportunity to tell him about the Maxfli Tour and the MGS test! He said he was going to check it out! Popular Post Kenny B 33,362
Wolf game today!! Big winner!! 42/40 for 82. Not the lowest score; that was a 79, but the other two guys shot 85 and 91. Tee time was 7am and it was chilly; 59º but the wind picked up as the round went on, getting up to maybe 15 mph by the turn. Had to put a jacket on. I had three great shots: On the par 4 #7 my ball was a little left in the rough by the contoured green; chipped way out right and lipped it out for a gimme. On the par 4 #9 hole from 100 yards out, my ball landed 2 inches from the cup and spun sideways to 3 feet; birdie. On the par 5 #18 I was trying to cut the dogleg to the left of a group of fairway bunkers. Only driver swing all day that felt totally unsynchronized; ball drifted right of the bunkers, which is the normal fairway shot (I should go there every time!). Second shot to 76 yards out in fairway. Easy wedge to a front pin in the narrow part of the green; stuffed to 2 feet; birdie. So what did I win? 8 quarters!!! Not bad since I was Wolf on the first hole and lost 3 quarters. Played better when it warmed up. Overall, I hit more quality shots than normal that I feel are the result of my PlaneMate work. Back to PlaneMate in the morning and more Wolf on Thursday. 11 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”
Popular Post MaxEntropy 8,214
Rough evening.... Started with 4 straight bogies - first three were bad, the fourth was a good bogey. Then things got interesting. Relatively easy par 5 with a topped tee ball, decent second, topped third with a 5i, pulled 8 iron off the cart path and over the bathroom, had to thread a punch shot back towards the hole, managed to thread the needle, but into a bunker, out and two putt for a triple. Easy par the next hole, and finished bogey, triple, bogey for a 48. Ugh. Putting was bad again. Driver was actually pretty good besides the topped drive, only once did I not have a clean shot, just couldn't execute. 5 5 Quote Driver: Epic Speed 9* (set -1) Mitsubishi MMT 70X 3W: Tour B JGR 15* Recoil 460ES 3H, 4H: Tour B JGR 19*, 23* Recoil 780ES 4-AW: Tour B JGR HF2 Modus3 Tour 105 SW: Zipcore Black Satin 54* LW: Zipcore Black Satin 58* Putter: Stroke Lab Marxman Bag: BigMax Dri Active Lite Ball: TP5x Pix Pushcart: BigMax iQ+ 2021 Test - Callaway Epic Speed
Popular Post CarlH 8,281
Started to play today. After our drive on #2, we realized we (as in 3some) were in for a long round as we were following 4 women, one of which was THE well known slowest female player in the club and they were following another 4 some. SO, after hitting the drive, we picked up and cut over to our inside 9 (27 hole course) and played 2-9, then back to the turn, played 1, ran into family golfers with their young kids, jumped ahead of them to #7. Did I mention that the other two players had no patience? Anyway, I was really hitting the ball poorly and getting unbelievable bad breaks, in addition to that. I'd had enough at that point. Totally lost any sense of focus or desire to even play. Have no idea what I was scoring, but it wasn't pretty, I'm sure. I did not enjoy bouncing around from hole to hole. I would have rather just taken our time and played golf as it was intended to be played and enjoyed the day and company. 6 4 Quote Driver: Rogue ST Max (10.5* set at N) -- Mitsubishi Tensai Blue 55g R shaft Fairway: Rogue ST Max 3 wood (16.5*)-- Mitishibishi Tensai Blue 55g R shaft Hybrids: M6 19* and 24* -- Fujikura Atmos R shaft Irons: Apex CF19 6-9, PW, AW -- KBSTour Graphite 70g shafts R +1/2 inch 3* up Wedges: CBX2 52*, 56* and 60* True Temper Dynamic Gold Wedge shaft Putter: Stroke Lab 7S Ball: Maxfli TourX My Photography can be seen at Smugmug

Well, not unbelievable, but tough pills to swallow --- hit a great 8 iron a bit left of the flag, it hits and bounces hard left (like 90 degrees) into a trap. Another hole, I pull my iron into the trap and get the proverbial fried egg into the side of the trap. I hit my best drive of the day and when I get to it, it's in a deep divot that the person didn't bother even trying to fix. I don't think I had any good bounces today to even any of the bad ones out. Popular Post chisag 18,556
... After a forgettable round yesterday when my back was stiff and the swing change was unforgiving of injury that I turned into a practice round on the back 9, things went much better today. Swing change continues to produce excellent shots and out of nowhere a really bad shot. Front 9 was pretty uneventful and I just missed too many putts but my proximity to the hole did not produce many makable birdies. Just 2 inside 8 feet and missed both. ... Back 9 was much better but also had more really bad shots. #12 is a shortish par 5 with my best drive of the day leaving me 205 to the pin and just flat topped my DHY leaving me 105 to a back pin and hit a nice GW to the fringe and then rolled in the putt. #15 is a short par 4 and I topped (again ) my tee shot just making it through the desert and on the fairway. Layed up with my 5 wood and chipped to 10" to save par. #17 was the killer though. TOPPED ANOTHER TEE SHOT on a 576 yd par 5! Hit a nice 3 wood and was still left with 210 and just misjudged the wind as I hit a 4 iron that came up 10 yards short of the green. Pin was in the back, cut just over a tier so I a hit a low checking LW into the tier that hopped just over it, checked up and trickled to what I thought would be a tap in ... then watched it disappear into the hole. The most unlikely birdie of all time. ... Determined to play the last hole well I put a smooth swing on my drive and hit it really well and dead center leaving me 129 to a pin tucked over the water. Decided to hit a hard pw instead of a 3/4 nine iron and watched it hit just on the green, hop once and spin back off the green sitting on the railroad tie for a second, then into the water. 2 shots hit as well as I can hit them and I am dropping on the narrow strip of rough between the water and the pin. Decided to putt and read it almost perfectly stopping 1" from the center of the hole. And I am thinking "Isn't that golf illustrated in two holes?" I played the par 5 poorly, but one great shot resulted in birdie and played the par 4 almost perfectly hitting 3 shots as well as I am capable of and end with a bogie. Twilite Golf Gods must have had a few extra White Clams. ... All in all no complaints other than maintaining focus with my swing change. I am pretty sure most of my mistakes are just a momentary lack of focus as opposed to a physical problem, although I realize this will be the case for a couple months or more til the change becomes second nature and I don't have to think when swinging. 13 Quote Driver: LTDx 10.5* ...
