MaxEntropy
31 minutes ago, TJ Hall said: The course I play frequently did something similar…very tight driving hole (trees on the right right to the fairway and everything slopes down to the creek off the fairway left) that would require a left to right shot (which I don’t have for my driver/3w). They removed all the trees down the right for utility line work which opened up the entire right side (it’s an easy shot from the right now)…changed the entire hole for me. The other hole that was greatly impacted is a dogleg-right par 5 and they created a nice alley to shorten the hole. It looks like they are going to let that alley overgrow and put red stakes to discourage the shortcut. cksurfdude, sirchunksalot, TJ Hall and 2 others 4 1 Quote Driver: Epic Speed 9* (set -1) MMT 70X 3W: Tour B JGR Recoil 760ES 3H, 4H: Tour B JGR 19*, 23* Recoil 780ES 4-AW: Tour B JGR HF2 Modus3 Tour 105 SW: RTX Zipcore Black Satin 54* LW: TAIII Black 58* Putter: Scottsdale TR Senita Bag: BigMax Dri Active Lite Ball: TP5x or AVX (yellow) Pushcart: BigMax iQ+ Testing Complete, Final Review Posted: Sub70 TAIII Forged Wedges

Not to whine too much but I keep noticing at the nicer golf courses that they do not have ball washers on the course. That's fine if it's a course that provides or makes caddies available, but that's generally not the case. I was also a little shocked to notice there was no water available anywhere on the course; maybe that changes during the hot weather, but not having water available on the course seems like a bit of a safety issue IMHO. I shot a 104 but was let down by my putting with 4 3-putts. I was pretty strong from tee to green (hit 4 GiR) and had a few more chances to get up & down for par that I did not convert. What I'm really struggling with right now is after a big drive and approach shot, is throttling down and adjusting my swing to hit a decent chip; I find myself either trying to baby it and fluffing it way short or trying to come through aggressively and blading it over the green. Despite my poor score I really enjoyed myself yesterday, I hit more good shots than bad ones and I feel my game heading in the right direction. I played at a beautiful course, the weather was perfect, and I was playing with two of my oldest friends, guys I've known since my freshman year of college. Days don't get too much better than that and I'm playing in a tournament on Friday at Renditions. I played there at the end of March and then too had no water on the course. I was surprised too. I play mostly in Baltimore City and Carrol Park, of all the courses, always has water out and since its only 9 holes, is the one that probably needs it the least. The course itself was good fun and a challenge with the wind on the day. sirchunksalot, cksurfdude, Rob Person and 1 other 4 Quote "Like moss on a Mississippi tree stump" Michael Scott

Northern Monkey
Had a great round today overall. First nine wasn’t as good as the back nine. The driver wasn’t performing for me today and was 6 over for the front nine but came back at level par so was really pleased. My short game was really good today and I think that’s what made all the difference. berkeleybob
Well, I had a the messiest +9 on my l’il nine-hole today. I thinned so many shots, it’s a wonder I made onto the green at all. Most of my chipping seems to be working. Things are working in the right direction, and hopefully I get out more to prove it. Josh Parker
Played 9 this afternoon and wasn't hitting driver as well as I wanted but keeping it in play. Irons were on fire and ended up at 1 under. Birdied the 1st and 3rd hole and bogey on the 4th. Missed a couple birdie putts right on the edge. gavinski91
Played from the white tees at the local 9-hole course with just my irons today. Improved in strokes gained (compared to past 10 rounds) on both driving and approach play despite feeling like I wasn’t hitting the ball very well (which is a good indication of how poor my driving has been lately). Cleanest iron shot was my 4 iron off the first tee that somehow found the water 250 yards away. Greens were pinball-machine bad, and putting reflects that. Generally ok with the fact that I was +10 on a 9-hole round where I felt like I played pretty poorly - a good indication that my game is headed in the right direction.
