Popular Post ejgaudette 3,745
Like many here probably got out for my last round of the year. Got out for a quick 9 while it was 50 and now windy. First round with the new irons, so I hit some extra balls and got a bit of a feel for them. Really liked the performance and feel. Still enough spin but clubs were taking a nice first hop then stopping, not stopping right next to the pitch mark. Feels like a good balance that will help for sure in the windier conditions. Also hit some great short game shorts, and controlled pitching wedges. Driver was a mess though, but to be expected as it was my first round in at least a month maybe six weeks. Side note, first round with a push cart that was given to me, and it was a nice change. It will be more helpful on hillier courses that I play. Happy to be joining the push cart mafia 13 1 Quote Epic Max LS 9° Smoke Black 70g 6.5 (2021 Official Review) | Epic Speed 15° Smoke iM10 60g 6.0 816 H1 18° Speeder HB 8.8 Stiff | 816 H1 21° Diamana S+ Blue 70 Stiff JPX 919 HM Pro 5 - PW Pro Tour Spec 115i Stiff | Equalizer 52° / 56° Tour V 110 Stiff SOFT 11S Super Stroke Mid-Slim 2.0 | Hoofer Bag | - Pro V1x | Right Handed Tracked by V3
Popular Post MrBandit 1,040
Played a Tournament on Saturday, a shotgun start on hole number 16th. Well, nothing like starting your round with an a snowman. Cut Drive into the trees, drop straight down, top 3 wood moving it 70yds, hit 3 wood into the water.. great start. Got out the sand well today was in there a lot in the back 9. Make the turn to the front 9 and it was a Par fest. Made everything that was missed for birds and made every putt required to save par. Make the turn again to the back 9 and couldn't make a saving par, made the same strokes as the front 9 but didn't make a single thing. Yet I didn't have any doubles but 1 Triple. Moral of the story, golf sucks. LMAO! 13 Quote Driver: TaylorMade Stealth HD - 9.0 with NIPPO N.S. Popular Post Gusset 51
Went out last Friday in the rain to play Three Rivers in Kelso with my visiting brother. We pretty much had the course to ourselves. Light to heavy rain non-stop until somewhere around the 15th. Temperature was around 60 degrees, so it was "only" wet, as opposed to cold and wet. Shot 98. I suppose the conditions maybe played a role, but I'm not comfortable blaming the rampant slicing into trouble off the tee and a few thin and fat iron shots on the weather. On the bright side, my newly bagged Axis1 Umbra, along with a switch to a claw-style grip, felt really nice this first time out. Good direction control. Pretty good distance control, too, but frankly, slow/wet greens aren't a good test for that. Even so, though, my only 3-putt on the day was from ~40 feet on #17. First course impressions for this putter were good. We'll see how it holds up when I go out again this coming Saturday (should be dry). All things considered, despite the slicing and near constant rain, we had a great time. We knew it would be wet, so it just sorta became part of the experience.
Popular Post Rickp 28,595
Monday morning Exec with 46* and 9 mph wind, for Florida not very good. We did 5 holes then one of the older guys (81) wasn’t feeling good so we bailed. He is fresh off a procedure so we didn’t want to chance it. For the 5 holes I was even Par with a Birdie & Bogie. Everything felt good, well actually I couldn’t feel anything in my hands! Same weather predicted for tomorrow morning…swell. 10 Quote Rick Left Hand, Driver; Titleist TSi2, Kuro Kage 50 gr R2 5 Wood; Cally Steelhead 5 Hybrid; Cally Steelhead, Hazardous Vista Pro R2 Irons; Ping G710 6-GW, Recoil 460 R2 Putter; Waaay too many to list
Popular Post Kenny B 32,456
Well, I went out and played in the wind today. I wasn't going to play, but my wife wanted one more round before her surgery. She played really well yesterday on the front nine and tanked on the back nine, so she wanted to try again one more time. We tied on the front nine 43 (+6). I played from the Blue tees because we had a walking single with us and he was playing there. I started bogey then 3 pars, and then I hit the bogey train for 5 in a row!! I got up and down for pars on #10 and #11, then nearly aced the par 3 #12... a 4i into the wind stopped an inch short! Arrrgh!! The rest of the back nine was 4 pars and 2 bogeys for a 36(+1). I'll take a 79; I just played like I was in Scotland!. The wind wasn't bad until halfway through the back nine when the forecasted 25+ mph wind with 45 gusts came up all of a sudden. My 77 yesterday was from the White tees, and this 79 from the Blue tees somehow seemed easier. Go figure! My wife was disappointed; she finished with a 45 that included 3 doubles for a round of 88. She is so close to putting a good round together to break 80. It will happen. She should be back playing again in a few weeks. 10 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”
Haro 526
Had extended my 5 wood to driver length and went out to game it. Single length woods Lol actually worked out well. Every shot was a fade including my irons. For some reason I just could not draw the ball as well my wedge were off too. I had to forward press for some reason for my timing. Something I normally don’t do Notice I wasn’t shifting my weight properly this day I think the forward press keep my weight on the front foot went to range afterward. To correct it I have to setup the club shaft pointed just slightly ahead then set the grip rather when I address the ball with grip already set Edited November 16, 2021 by Haro

Finished off with a few Pars and Bogie 9th. Irons were OK after the 1st 2 holes. I’m blaming the cold. Popular Post fixyurdivot 16,574
37/41 at Coyote Wash today... that's B2B sub 80 rounds . I'm finding lots more fairways off the tee and that always helps. My average carry distance is down about 10 yards, but I'm liking the tradeoff. Still loving the ZX5's and figured out a bit more press forward is lowering ball height and yielding a bit more distance. I think that may be due to the MMT80 shafts and that they tend to launch a bit higher than the AWT's? Doing so does tend to move shot path left slightly, so I'm working on a little "windage" to the right of target. We played El Lobo and I teamed up for 9 dimes. Only 11 putts on the front and 16 on the back (.25 for fewest putts), and picked up two .25 KP's and .25 birdie. Everyone in the group played quite well and had a great day. 12 Quote G410 Plus, 9 Degree Driver G400 SFT, 16 Degree 3w G400 SFT, 19 Degree 5w ZX5 Irons 4-AW Glide 2.0 56 Degree SW (removed from double secret probation ) ER5v Putter (Evnroll ER5v Official Review)

Popular Post toehold57 1,062
When it gets to be this time of year in Colorado and it’s above 60, you better be taking advantage of it. And so we did! Windy day, mostly cloudy but the temperatures were in the low 60’s. Played Patty Jewitt, one of the oldest courses west of the Mississippi. City owned course that is without a doubt the busiest course in town. But come fall the fair weather crowd tends to stay at home. Patty has a fair number of flat greens which makes your approach shots tougher to stop. I broke out a sleeve of the mighty, spinning Kirkland’s in hopes of holding a few. Hey, it worked 43/38 - 81. Good day. If it wasn’t for the snowman on #3 and the double on #10 it could have been a lot better. Sigh, another day.

Popular Post Tom the Golf Nut 7,763
Got to play a quick nine today. What a beautiful day. It was 70 degrees and sunny. Unfortunately I think playing golf was on everyone's agenda. When I got there there were foursomes on the first 5 holes and I was not going to deal with a five hour round. My club has a group of retired guys that play at noon, five times a week (it was them). I was on my lunch break from work. I was fortunate that there was nobody on the back nine. So I played the back in an hour. I actually played well again. Even though I was playing quickly I managed to stay clear of all the bunkers and shot a 34. 11 Quote Driver, TSi1 10* Stiff Flex 3 Wood, SLDR HL 17* R Flex 5 Wood, SLDR 19* R Flex 7 Wood, F6 22.5* R Flex 939x 5 hybrid Irons, 699 Pro's S Flex (6 - AW) JB Wedge 56* Wedge, CBX 60* Putter, Marksman Fang 35"
Popular Post Lacassem 16,210
Got out for what could be potentially the last round of the 2021 season. I slacked hard September and October only playing a single round on what was one of the best falls in recent memory. If I do not count the balls I had to drop that were barely off the green or fairway/knew where they landed but were covered by leaves 79….if I do count them 84. Either way very good round for me after a hiatus. 3 birds, 6 pars, 8 bogeys and a double. 9 fairways, 7 greens and 29 putts (several “chips” with the putter” struggled with the short game at first. Was missing some of the distance gauging which is expected but was not in trouble at all at any point in the round. Approach shots were good but was pulling everything. Never got into a real groove there. What was good all round was the long clubs. Several fantastic drives/3 woods and hybrid shots. Can’t wait for next season already. 12 1 Quote Check out my reviews: G710 Irons Official Review MC Shaft & V Series Putter Official Review WITB: Traverse is filled with all this shiny metal and tracked by : RadSpeed 8* - MotoreX F1 6X I SIM 3W - Project X HZRDUS Green I SpeedZone 4H - Project X HZRDUS Black 2019 P790 4-PW - Project X 6.5 LZ I 48 (SM8), 52, 56, 60 (SM7) - Nippon Modus 125 S ER2VI PROV1X #19 Thank you to all those that have served/are serving and God Bless America
Popular Post fixyurdivot 16,574
Bookend 38's at Desert Hills today for a 76... my best of the year. That makes three sub 80 rounds in a row . Only one double bogey on #3 which, had the 3w off the tee stayed inside the canal fence line, could have ended up a stellar shot on that dog leg left par 4. I hit my 3rd shot off the tee on the same aggressive line (not really intending too ) and it stayed in, leaving only 136 yards. Nearly snuck away with a bogey but putt #1 hung on the edge. We waited a few seconds hoping it would drop but no such luck. Typically we layup down to the lake and have 160+ in over part of the lake. My driving has been solid and only one other fairway missed. I made several long-ish one putts for par saves - for a total of 28 putts! 14 2 Quote G410 Plus, 9 Degree Driver G400 SFT, 16 Degree 3w G400 SFT, 19 Degree 5w ZX5 Irons 4-AW Glide 2.0 56 Degree SW (removed from double secret probation ) ER5v Putter (Evnroll ER5v Official Review)

Popular Post Syks7 936
Had a middling day today. 87 on a 71.9/123 course. So, still on okay differential but I felt like it could have been much better. I am once again my own worst enemy. 7 Pars (couldn't buy a birdie today) 4 doubles and the rest bogies. I'm not upset though, the course was pretty tough today and the greens were very fast with some tricky pin positions. I'm about 1" total distance in 4 putts from 4 birdies -- just couldn't get one to drop. Driver: Was pretty reasonable today. The only major issue I had with it was on one of the doubles. 3 Wood: Used twice, but both were excellent. Once off the tee to clear a dogleg that I'd run past with driver and a monster off the deck on a par 5 (oh well, why not shot that carried 245 and rolled out to 260 from 289) 2 Hybrid: I rebuilt it with a steel shaft and I think I'm in love. Didn't have a chance to hit it before I played so it was a learning experience, but when it goes it goes. Seems to do fine with both a 3/4 mellow swing and a full get out there swing. Going to be a very versatile club in the bag. Since I hadn't hit it I wasn't really sure how far it would go (and I'm still not) but it's arrow straight with a nice high flight that seems like it will have the same stopping ability as my irons. Irons: Also pretty good today, especially the long irons. I hit a couple irons shots that surprised me including a 5 iron from 195 that landed against a backstop, stopped cold, then trickled back to about 8'. (That one was one of the birdies that slid over the edge). I also had some good short iron shots. I'm finding that if I'm trying to be accurate it works really well to club up and hit a nice smooth 90% shot with a little fade to kill the rollout. Wedges: Saved me on a several, hurt me on a few more. I'm in this funny place with my wedges where it all seems to average out to a push. It's still a vast improvement over what it was, but I still need to keep pushing it toward the strength side. I will say that from beyond 40 yards they were absolutely lights out short of one hosel rocket into a sand trap. I almost saved that one too. Putting: 34 putts doesn't necessarily look like a great day putting, but with the greens the way they were today it felt solid. Especially when I left myself above the hole, barely tapped it, and ended up with a ball that leaked by the hole with an 8 footer coming back. I will take two putts in that situation any day. I feel like I'm really close to putting it all together and the 2, 3, and 7 I played with today thought I was a single digit player -- and were really surprised when I told them a I was a 14. That was a pretty nice boost.
