Interesting that you need new soft spikes already. Is that life span consistent with your experience with other shoes? These are my first spiked golf shoes in well over 20 years and I think the last pair I had failed (upper separated from sole) before I'd worn out the spikes!

Shame about the laces and lead time for spikes from Sqairz. My laces are still staying tight without the need to re-tighten mid round. but I'm way down on total # of walked 18s compared to you!

I think that 30 to 45 rounds is about all that I ever get from a set of replaceable soft spikes. Remember, I walk 95%+ of my rounds of golf.

As for receiving my replacement spikes, Squairz said that they never got my initial order, and I received a set of spikes two days later.

Nice. I walk the majority of my rounds, but most of my rounds are just 9-holes and right now 2-3x per week. I keep trying to convince my golf buddies to walk 18, but the guys I usually play 18 with (who are 8 & 14 years my junior) seem to only want to ride. Ha ha.

Another 9 holes walked this morning and these Velo continue to be very comfortable shoes.

One thing I was worried about has started to show up. I roll onto the side of my left (lead) foot on my swing follow through. Always have. My old Ecco Biom midsole split on the outside due to this roll. Well, the sole/tread on the Sqairz Velo has started to separate from the midsole on my left shoe.

It's pretty small right now, so I've done nothing yet and I'm monitoring for rate of deterioration. Maybe I'm just doomed to most shoes doing this eventually. i've tried to open up my left foot and point my toes towards the target a lot more to see if that stops the rolling. It does to an extent, but I prefer how I swing the club with my left foot not pointing so much to target, except bunker shots and flop shots.

No notable deterioration yet- I've played at least 3x 9-hole rounds and 1x 18-hole round since first seeing this.

Since first reporting this separation between midsole and sole/tread, I've walked a total of 90 holes of golf and played (ridden) an additional 36. No notable increase in the length of this separation.

I have emailed Sqairz to ask what type of flexible adhesive they would advise me using for this to see if that holds. There are many shoe glue products on Amazon claiming to be professional grade, but I thought I'd ask the OEM first.

The Velo continue to be very comfortable and both grip and stability are excellent. They still keep my feet dry in the rain (two of my last three outings have included notable periods walking and playing in the rain).

Any response? I've used pld99 construction glue on work boots,(for marine and home plywood floors) but it adds considerable weight. It never hardens up, but stays flexible, won't peel

I have not had any issues with the sole of my shoes in the amount of rounds I have played. I have noticed, like @billpierce said, the spikes flattening out. I will order a new set probably next month when the weather starts turning cooler and the ground starts getting a little more wet that way I have new spikes for the fall months.

@Rob Person- I did receive a response. They said it shouldn't happen and I shouldn't need to repair, so they've offered to send me a replacement pair!

In my message to them I was transparent about being a tester for MGS and receiving a free pair, that I wanted to try repairing and was neither asking for replacements nor do I expect any. But it's good of them to stand behind the product and replace them.

Obviously I'm still going to repair mine to try to extend their life. This sole/midsole separation is something I've tried adjusting stance to prevent, I'm just not a fan of having my lead foot sufficiently open that I no longer roll.

I'll update on here with what shoe/ sneaker adhesive I try first and how long it lasts, in case others are in the same boat.

Are yours much flatter than these? I haven't had soft spikes before, so just wondering how much wear you guys are allowing before you replace the spikes. These aren't 'picking up' as much turf on the greens as they used to, but the grip level is still very good. I know I'm way down on round numbers compared to some of you hardcore walkers.

Are you buying the same spikes that Sqairz sell (Pivix Golf Spikes, Fast Twist 3.0)? Or something different with the same attachment fixture? Just curious- I'll stick with the 'if it ain't broke...' mantra for product selection.lol

Mine aren’t any worse than yours. But I had a friend who told me to change the soft spikes twice a year. Admittedly, that was in Florida almost 5 years ago during the COVID times. I still have plenty of grip, but I think changing them at least once a year is acceptable if you want

Mine were significantly more worn-down than that when I replaced the spikes a couple of weeks ago. That was after only about 37-38 rounds (all while walking the courses).

I have seven pairs of SQAIRZ. Most are at least one year old. I noticed the spikes have worn down. So, I changed the spikes in six of the shoes. It was not easy. I used the Pivix 3.0. I have decided to check my cleats every 3 months.

So mini update. I’ve not changed the spikes yet, and the round I played yesterday morning I had a slippage on a tee shot. That was the first time I’ve had my left foot slip while wearing the SQAIRZ’s, but I’m going to attribute this to needing to change the spikes.

The only slippage I ever had in them was the fault of the cleats. I now change them every 3 to 6 months.

Another round in and another round that should have been below 80. Putts killed me as I had two doubles. The Sqairz didn’t disappoint again. Never would have thought a shoe would be so much more than just a shoe.

I could play golf every day and learn something new each time.

Bought Sqairz based off MGS recommendations and my buddy being a fan. Had an issue with my sole separating. Sqairz is overnighting me a new pair off their warranty. Overnight because I have tournaments all week next week. I’m sold. Thank you Sqairz!

I could play golf every day and learn something new each time.

I was impressed with how quickly they got my replacements out to me, but overnighting to you for comps is really great customer service!

For future reference, and potentially keep yours usable for a while longer, I've had some really good success with using "Shoe-Fix Glue" to repair my sqairz and also another non-golf shoe that had the sole separating from the midsole. I don't expect it to last forever, but it's already much better than a regular superglue I'd tried before.

They overnighted them, but the problem is they used UPS. The Sqairz will be here tomorrow instead of yesterday. How long are companies going to continue to use UPS with UPS constantly delaying shipments? UPS sent me the email on the 23rd.

My first tournament is tomorrow. The shipment won’t arrive until afternoon tomorrow. They claim they didn’t have the package from Sqairz on the 23rd, but Sqairz confirmed to me on the 22nd. I’ve had nothing but delayed shipments from UPS. Pretty pathetic on UPS’s part.

Seems to be the norm for UPS lately. Not sure what has happened to them, but their service has diminished significantly over the last couple of years...

FedEx has gotten just as bad!  Almost every shipment that I get where FedEx was used has been delayed two days lately. Golfworks is only in the next state (I have driven there in 7 hours), and they use FedEx for every shipment, with the exception of small items like sole weights and ferrules, where USPS is their preferred carrier. Even when FedEx says that a package is on a truck for delivery that day, it doesn't arrive for two additional days.
