Nice Flat sticks RPJ, Do you tend to keep the stock Grips on, OR do you have a GOTO putter grip ???

Thanx a lot Bro. Yea, wih my Scotty's , I go with the "Baby T" grip(red & black), which I like better than the Pistolero and with all of my other putters, I go with the Winn Triple Line, Breast Cancer issue. I have five wraps on the top of my grip under my left hand.

I also have a few Super Stroke Ultra Slims that I'll put on the putter if I find myself getting a little too wristy. I'll always go back to the Baby T's & the Winn's though.

Have a great week

RP I have a quick question but anybody can answer this. What is the most effective way to remove factory club paintfill. Everytime I try I put in way too much time and I don't get all the paint out so I mess it up. Like yesterday, I tried removing paint from these two small sight dots which were red and wanted white but there was still red so they turned pink.

I use a paper towel. Tear a small strip off and fold it into a square then dip it in acetone and wipe across the area that I'm trying to remove the excess from. Just make sure you kinda wring out the excess acetone so it doesn't remove everything else

Richard,

If you like the shape/size of the BabyT and the smoothness of the Pistolero, you should find a Pistolini and try it out. There's a difference in the 2 grips. The Pistolero has the axe handle butt but the Pistolini doesn't, it's more of a traditional pistol grip like the BabyT.

As for removing paintfill, acetone works fine on Scottie's, as it eats his paint quickly. For more stubborn paint, I like to use TalStrip liquid on a Q-Tip. Rub it on, let sit for 3-5 minutes and then wipe off with a dampened Q-tip (dampened with more tal-strip). Of course if you're using a TMag white putter, versa or something similar, you won't want to use any and rather should use something to pick it out.

Have a ton of back-ups in all categories, but there are always 14 clubs in the bag that differ depending on the course and set-up. Bomb and gouge. Yes, I'm a club gigolo.

Thanks a lot Bro :)

I can't putt right now though when I'm able, I'm going to throw some tape over the slot because as is, it falls between my Studio Select Newport and my Select Newport. I was hopin that it would have the "softness" of my Select, and as my sense of "feel" is based off of my auditory response, hopefully throwin the tape on will "soften" the sound.

Thanks for posting and I hope that ya have a great season :)

My Best,

Richard

Ha Ha tape over the slot old school all the way of course I would not expect anything less from you RP. I still have my origional Anser that has lead tape on the slot to muffle the "Ping" hope you get to feeling better

Richard, if you want to soften the sound, take some lead tape and roll one edge over in the slot and smooth it out.  Leave the slot open.  If not, it'll feel firmer because the audible pitch change from the slot is what makes the perception of it being softer. Bonus is the lead tape protects the finish.

One thing I can add to that and this is strictly old old school. When coming from an old 8802 style putter to those early Pings with the slots and sometimes double slots the face seemed hot and taping over the slot and directly in the cavity seemed to feel like it deadened the face some. I dont know if that is scientifically correct or not but it seemed to work for a lot of us old timers or at least we thought so

I usually slide it in from the sole side, not all the way through, just partially. Then I take a knife to smooth it down inside the slot. The rest of the tape rolls over onto the sole.

Hey everyone just a quick question,

I'm trying to remove the black finish on my used Scotty Studio Design 1, because the previous owner wore away the finish on the toe and left it out of it's head cover which caused some speckles of rust to form.  Any tips or tricks on removing the finish and rust?  Anything is welcomed, and if you can't think of anything, that's alright too.  Thanks so much, and cheers.
