7 wood

What are some 7 woods to consider to fill in some gaps instead of a 2 or 3 iron?

I have the Callaway St Max 7 (and 5 and 9) with an Aldila Rogue White 130 MSI 60 R.  The other two have VA Composites 65 R Nemesys shafts.  This one is a little more draw biased than the 5 & 9.  Great club.

Try a MacGregor MacTec if you're thrifty. It's been great for me.

I put a 7-wood in the bag for the first time last year, basically the cheapest one I could get hold of (I wasn’t sure it was what I needed). Picked up a Cleveland Halo XL and love it both off tee and fairway - way better than the driving irons and hybrids I have used in the past.

I carry a Ping G 7 wood in my arsenal of fairway woods.  However, I have to say that my favorite and most used fairway wood is a Callaway Epic Flash Heavenwood.  I like to think of it as a robust 7 wood.

It's nominal setting is 20 degrees loft (one shy of their 7 wood and adjustable +/- 2 degrees), with the length between a 5 and 3 wood, and a club head size 14% larger than a typical 7 wood and slightly larger than a 5 wood.

I actually deloft mine the 2 degrees and use it as my 5 wood.  The adjustable hostel gives you flexibility to find the perfect settings to successfully fill your distance gap.

Ping G430 Max driver 10.5 degrees with an Alta Quick45 gram senior shaft
Callaway Epic 3 wood, Project X Evenflow Green 45 gram senior shaft
Callaway GBB Epic Heavenwood, with a Mitsubishi Diamana 50 gram senior shaft
Ping G 20.5 degree 7 wood, with a stock Alta 65 gram senior shaft
Ping G 26 degree hybrid, stock Alta 65 gram senior shaft
Callaway Paradym X irons, 7-AW with Aldila Ascent Blue 50 graphite shafts
Edison wedges:  50, 55 and 60 degree, KBS Tour Graphite A flex shafts
Putters:  L.A.B. Direct Force 2.1 putter, 34.5" long, 67 degrees lie

I have a aerojet max and ltdx 7 wood.
both are great but the Aerojet max is way way too draw biased for me.   The ltdx is more neutral biased so the left miss doesnt happen as often.

partial to the cobra bottom turf rails(bafflers) so im going to sell the aerojet max head for like $120

I do play callaway in my woods generally, so this is good to know.

Also keep in mind some are not adjustable.  I think its extremely important if your a tinkerer.

A really good one that's easy on the bank account is the Sub70 949x. I play the 3w & 5w and love them. And under 2 Ben's, they're an incredible value especially for new clubs. Lots of shafts to chose from too.
