Hey PJaxx - Nearly fell out of my chair when I saw -17 net....math might be off though...pump 13 in the "Gross Strokes Over/Under Par" box vs. -1....(that is your net stokes over/under par).   Three under net is still awesome!  Nice Shooting.

One of my best rounds of the year so far.  Lessons and dedicated practice working.  Short game on fire. The new L.A.B. DF3 putter is working very well.  Absolute money on 6-8 foot putts for par or bogey.  A little more fickle when it was a 8-10 foot putt for birdie.  i.e. when you want to make it the most.

Thanks!  The long game is finally coming along.  If these greens will get consistent, I may just hit some low scores. Super happy with 12 GIR and the mistakes I made were silly, rushed mistakes.

Thanks. They roll better than they did 6 months ago without being punched. Haha. So much improvement since they got rid of the old super. 

They are about to redo/fix 5-7 which will be nice.

Actually hit the ball really well at times but a few sloppy bogeys and almost no birdies made it a bit of a slog today. Can't all be winners and I am encouraged by some of the shots I hit with a small change I am trying to force into my swing.

Checked off a milestone this week - I have shot 79 twice, but both were par 71s. Today I shot 79 on a par 72! Not the longest course (played it at 6,100) but super tight, tree lined course. Pretty pumped to hit this milestone and how the 2024 season has started! Nerves got to me on hole 18 and almost blew it, made a mess of the par 5 18th but scraped together a 7.

SG benchmarked against a 5 handicap. Still negative strokes gained, but my pest putting performance of the year , hit my irons well and shot at center of greens all round. Lag putting was solid. Not sexy golf but safe golf and it paid off.

Front nine: miserable. Putting was off. Back nine started out MUCH nicer, putting calmed down a lot, ran into a buzz saw sand (actually soft concrete) trap on 17 that I couldn't negotiate to save my life, but did manage to one putt that, then couldn't get my brain straight to finish 18 strong. Frustrating as heck going into 17 hitting a 33 and finishing the last two holes with 16.
Oh well... still a work in progress, as is every day on the course, but slowly getting there!

Down in 30A with the family and was able to get away for 1 (of 2) rounds today.  Very fun course (apparently its one of the longest in Florida at 7800 from the tips) and different from most Florida golf out there.  

Unfortunately, didn't play my best - was quite rusty and the greens were VERY challenging (slow at first, then sped up very quickly in heat).  I defintely struggled all day with Chewie, but I'm still very confident I'll eventually turn a corner with it.

Wow, complete 180 from yesterday's round - everything def came together in my second round this week.  The biggest bright spot? Chewie defintely came through on a number of holes including ZERO 3-putts and only 32 putts today.

First round back after a week in Las Vegas.  Our greens are starting to recover from our first aeration/sand top dressing of the season.  We rushed to the first tee and I had no time to practice my putting.   Needless to say, our greens were slower than most of the Las Vegas fairways!  It took four or five holes to even get a putt to the hole.  Overall, I really didn't play that bad.  It was just one of those days that you shot better than your score reflected.

Most things were "normal" for me.  Fairways hit was 79%, which is about where I typically am.  One miss was by inches.  My greens in regulation was again about where it typically is, but I had some more left and right misses versus short. 

The four up and downs is about average to a little lower.  The ball just didn't seem to roll out as long as it typically does.  The twenty-nine putts is slightly higher, but that's primarily due to the time to necessarily get to know one another.  By the end of the round, my speed was better and I was all around the cup (but not in).  

Overall, it was an average round.  Hopefully a little better come Thursday.

Back on the horse that threw me yesterday. What a big difference a day makes and having the wind out of a different direction. Hit 9 fairways, 12 greens and had 29 putts. 3 birdies and 2 bogies. Good day! Slope 118 and rating 67.2 from the blue/green.
