Longest you've went without trying a new purchase?

Just wondering what the longest you've went is after buying some sort of golf equipment before trying it out? I'm not counting buying something in the winter for those of us in northern states when outdoor golf isn't an option.

I purchased a set of KBS C-Tapers in mid-March and I have yet to put them in my irons. I was so excited to play them, but then golf season kicked in and I was just too excited to golf to actually take the time and swap out my shafts. I keep looking at them sitting on my work bench and thinking I should really install those, but then I think about actually doing the work, and having to redo all the ferrules (which I also bought at the same time) and the project keeps getting put off.

The worst part is that I actually think they would help my iron play, but I still haven't done it yet.

So I'm on 4.5 months and counting, how about the everyone else?

I can go the other way, I have received a club and been on the course in 4 1/2 minutes. I could not find my knife to open the package so I was delayed.

I installed a set of Pure Grips, 10 of them, got 13 but only needed 10 at the time. I started at 7:50 am and was hitting balls on the range at 7:58 am.

Other than that I have waited a week or so for other parts to arrive.

By the way, the grips were installed on C Taper shafts and I love both of them.

Well, I went about 3 months or so this year without buying anything. Then I bought a RT Technologies Zeus (75g), It is hte all silver model and the profile is different in the Zeus LT (68g) that I play now.

RT Technologies Zeus LT (68g) (Copper / Silver) ~ Stiff Butt, Medium Mid, Stiff Tip ~ X-Stiff is 264 raw roughly

RT Technologies Zeus (75g) (All Silver) ~ Stiff Butt, Stiff Mid, Stiff Tip ~ X-Stiff is 278 or higher raw roughly

The 75g Zeus X-Stiff only recommended for 120+ MPH swing speeds, I went with the Stiff which will play about the same as my LT in X-Stiff.

Other then this buy I don't see myself getting anything again until the end of the year or next year, all my stuff is very new, most of it was bought this year.

Callaway Epic Max 12.0 (-1/N) @ 44.50" w/ Graphite Design Tour AD IZ-7 Stiff

Callaway Mavrik Pro 23.0* @ 40.00" w/ Graphite Design Tour AD IZ 95 HYB Stiff

HCK I am in about the exact situation as you. I bought new shafts, grips, etc. to try my first iron "blueprint", but have delayed that for probably 4 months at this point. If I have that much free time in the weekend, like you, I would rather just go out and play with my current irons. This is certainly the longest I have waited on using new equipment, but I have a feeling this will end up being a winter project.

1) Can this be done w/out screwing up my irons?...

2) Who should I order them from?.....

Thanx....

Fairways & Greens 4ever.....

It can easily be done, by yourself or any club builder.

For the grips I would go straight to Pure grips. For the ferrules, I'd go to eitherCell Parts or Vibrant Golf.

I'm not counting buying something in the winter for those of us in northern states when outdoor golf isn't an option.

If we let winter completely stop us up here we'd be bored for 9 months ;)

I shovel snow for a "tee-box" near the back door to hit a few into the woods during the long, cold winter.

When I say a "few" I really mean 400-500. I go for a walk and try to pick them up in the spring :)

Since I moved to Florida I doubt I've gone a week - I will purchase an xcaliber shaft for my driver and then have to wait to have it installed so this could push that to a couple of weeks - but we'll see.

Taylor Made Stealth 2 10.5 Diamana S plus 60  Aldila  R flex   - 42.25 inches

SMT 4 wood bassara R flex, four wood head, 3 wood shaft

Ping G410 7, 9 wood  Alta 65 R flex

Srixon ZX5 MK II  5-GW - UST recoil Dart 65 R flex

India 52,56 (60 pending)  UST recoil 75's R flex

Evon roll ER 5 32 inches

It's our offseason so auditioning candidates - looking for that right mix of low spin long, more spin around the greens - TBD

Thanx JB...Yea, I just got my customized Pure grips(pics are in Pure review thread) & I'll go on the site that you recommended to pick out the ferrules..Im gonna have my club guy do 'em...I love the blue Pure grips!..

Fairways & Greens 4ever.....

Sounds very similar to my setup. I went with light blue ferrules with white rings and the light blue PURE grips. Then painted the "S" logo (Scratch irons and wedges) light blue to match the grips and ferrules. They turned out awesome.

Now if I could only bring myself to swap out the S300's for the C-Tapers...

H, could I get the pink lines on the blue ferrules, to match the pink accent/initials on my grips or is white standard?....

Fairways & Greens 4ever.....

White seems to be the standard on their website. I'm sure you could get pink through their custom order process, but I'm guessing it's more expensive and there is probably a minimum order.
