So many putts that were missed. A lot of opportunities to go real low this morning. Amateurs' event was held there yesterday....tee boxes were back and pin positions were a little harder. One hole - Par 3 7th that usually plays 180 was moved back to a rarely used tee box, through a chute and played 232 yards. I gave it go with my driver and came up short front in the approach area....bogey.

72% GIR and 64% Fairways...32 putts.

Blue/Green combo tees with the Monday Group. Course rating 67.2 and slope 118. Did not play my best, but yet this day could have been better. Hit 6 fairways and 10 greens. Near greens was better. However, had 32 putts. That was deceiving. Hit 3 of the par 5’s in 2. I legitimately lipped out 8 putts and 1 chip. The round that could of got away!

The course was fast and dry today. The ball was really rolling even for first thing in the morning. Had a good round today. I shot 1 over on the back. I missed several birdie putts, but that happens sometimes. I’m not sure if they cut or rolled the greens today. They seemed slower than usual. They were putting down a wetting agent on the green this morning. My ball was blue in the dimples. My fingertips got blue too. I washed them off really good after I finished.

I had a good start to the golf week. Historically, I tend to break 80 3-4 times per year. Today, I shot 78 and it's the third time I've broken 80 in the last four weeks and the seventh time this year.

Overall, my driving accuracy was about average at 71%. Only one miss to the left cost me a stroke as my ball went swimming! One of the big differences was that I doubled my normal greens in regulation. Hitting 28% is the most I can remember in a long time!

The five up and downs for par is a little above average. But it was the up and downs for bogies that really saved my butt! The sixth is our number 1 handicap hole. I was in the left trap in three with a tough pin placement. Fortunately, I was able to get up and down to salvage a bogey from a certain double. On the par four 12th, I drove it in the water, took a drop with 200 yards from the pin. I flubbed my five wood leaving me 87 yards to the difficult front pin. I hit an approach wedge within 18 inches to save a bogey. "Never give up!" is the phrase of the day.

After bogies on the first two holes, I proceeded to par eight of the next nine holes. Not bad for a 10 handicap.

Below is my shots gained. It was a good day for my approach, short and putting game!

I can only hope this trend continues for next week's mid-season VCT tournament!

What a difference a day makes and golf is a funny game. Hit the driver poorly yesterday so made a change. Put my Titleist TSR 3 at 8 degrees with Hzard Blue shaft into play on a last minute decision. Hit 12 fairways and hammered the ball off the tee. Front nine was just sort of cruising and not hitting my irons that well. However, short game saved me. So, after 13 putts made the turn at 1 under. Then on 10 hit the worst iron of my life dead right. However, did just enough to hold it together till number 14. Drove the green and hit the pin to make eagle. Changed the entire day. Sat the time,I was plus 2 on the back. So, after going even on the back and 1 under made a bunch of good pars and birdied 18 to shoot 2 under. Blue tees, slope 123, rating 69.1. Overall 12 fairways, 11 greens and 28 putts. It's pretty crazy on some of the holes. The 9th is a par 3 and is prob 70ft drop or more.

My depth perspective isn't that great..I imagine I would've went long or short lol.. Played a hole like that yesterday except it was a par 5 so I just hit the driver straight and crossed my fingers bc there was a water hazard about 270 out lol

It was a bit of a Jekyl and Hyde kind of round. Started off -2 through the first 7 going 7/7 GIR to start. Then came one of the dumbest triple bogeys I’ve ever made. Followed by another bogey on 9. Was definitely a little miffed posting a 38 front and hit an errant tee shot on 10 but was able to get out of the long grass and had 60 yards left on the par 5. Played a perfect bump and run with a 9-iron to 4 feet for birdie. Two more bogeys and then a strong run to finish out. Approach shots were much better and the putter was solid. Tee shots were hot and cold. Curious to see what tomorrow will bring.

Nothing could go wrong. Short game, drives and putting was at a level that I have not experienced in 4 months!!!

Course handicap was 16. Net score= 64!!!!!

My wife, however, had a poor day....83 net.
