Lynx Ai Junior Golf Club Set from All Kids Golf Review By Addison Boland

My name is Addison, I am 9 years old and going into the 4th grade.  I have been playing golf with my dad and papa for about 3 years.   I live in Bakersfield, CA, and am currently on vacation in Ogden, UT.  I will update this post when we get home.  Thanks to MyGolfSpy for the opportunity to test these clubs.

20240718_131644.jpg.3fa24ec2257e750b5f46d55685b75444.jpg

We returned home last night and I wanted to get into my box to see my new clubs.  My dad said I have to wait until he gets home from work today.  Sometimes he can be such a meanie.

While on vacation we went fishing, I finally caught my first fish!  It was so exciting!  The shirt I am wearing is from the Willy Wonka Jr. play I was in earlier this month.  I was also in a Wizard of Oz play this year at my school.

My dad, papa and I used to go to a little 3 hole course that had near us, unfortunately they removed that so we mainly just hit range balls or into my dads net in the back yard.   My first set of clubs my dad got me I had outgrown, my dad had got me some old clubs he had to use until I could get a new set.  So happy for this that I have a new set that will fit me.

Looking forward to opening that box tonight and hitting some balls this weekend.

My dad finally let me open my box, hope you all enjoyed the little happy dance.

I was very excited to get my new clubs.  The clubs were much prettier than the ones I am currently using.  They came with an actual driver, that thing is so big compared to what I am used to.  I did notice that the clubs were shorter than the ones I am currently using.  I grew out of my first set and have been using an old set my dad had in the garage, was mixed in with the many bags of clubs he has out there.  I think these clubs be a better fit for me than my current set.

I also got a very fancy looking bag to go with the clubs.  It seems to be sturdy, and the stand works very well.

I am hoping to get out to the golf course with my dad soon to try these out.  Hopefully we will be able to make it out to the course this weekend.  So far, I have only hit them into the net in our backyard.  One day we had to cut it short because I got chased by a bee.  I really don’t like bees.

Aesthetics:  18 out of 20

I really like how shiny the clubs are and think the camouflage design on the bag is pretty cool.  I did however have an issue with the bag.  I had my dad adjust the straps multiple time but every time he did the clubs would weigh down and start sliding out of the bag.  I finally made him carry it for me.  It was not a big deal because we usually ride in a cart.  He said he would try and adjust the straps more when we were at home before next time we went out the golf course.

Also, I was not crazy about the color green on the clubs.  Again not a big deal but green is just not one of my favorite colors.  (being a girl that’s somewhat important)

20240902_103818_800.jpg.78557a87c7383a1901657aabb05f8b7c.jpg

The Numbers:  19 out of 20

I don’t have much data on my swing, Dad did bring out the launch monitor on one day and it said that I hit my 7 iron 87 yards, which is pretty good for me.  Also, my Smash Factor was 1.23 (whatever that means)

I really like the irons and feel they are easier to hit than my old set of Nitros.  I definitely hit the ball further and have an easier time trying to get the ball in the air.   That is except for the driver, more about that later on in the review.

On the Course:  19 out of 20

Playing out on the course I feel I have improved with the Lynx Ai clubs.  Even though I still have not figured out the driver, the hybrid off the tee has really helped me enjoy the round.  I also think that playing and practicing more has helped me improve my game.   With the Lynx Ai irons I am getting the ball up in the air more consistently and getting closer to the green where I can use my sand wedge and most of the time I am able to get that club on the green.  I have also came really close to making some long putts, my short puts still need some work but my distance control and keeping the ball online have improved greatly with the Lynx Ai putter.

20240902_102619_800.jpg.bc4cb1142f512504eb1353b61c61417f.jpg

The Good, The Bad, the In Between:  19 out of 20

The good here far outweighs the bad.  I am hitting the Lynx Ai clubs much better than my old Nitro clubs and I am enjoying going out with my dad and playing golf even more than I did before.

The only real bad here is the driver.  It is probably not so much the driver itself I just can’t hit it very well.  It just seems harder for me to swing than the other clubs.  It seems heavy to me and my dad thinks its just too long for me right now.

Maybe soon I will be able to hit the driver well but for now I am really enjoying hitting the hybrid off the tee.

Play It or Trade It:  20 out of 20

Will definitely play it!  I have been having so much more fun with the Lynx Ai clubs than I have had before.  Nobody is taking my hybrid from me, lol.   Hopefully I will be able to hit the driver before I grow out of this set and need another.   Since the weather should be cooling off soon I hope to get out to the golf course with my dad much more than before.

20240902_101445_800.jpg.c9d1871b2b928d1a1da4f889b2e2bdc7.jpg

Conclusion

I am really happy with my Lynx Ai golf clubs.  Other than the driver the clubs are shorter than my old set, that just goes to show you the right size of clubs makes a big difference.  I have been hitting the ball farther and it has been much easier for me to get the ball in the air more consistently.  I really appreciate the opportunity and give thanks to All Kids Golf for allowing me to have so much fun with my Dad and improving my enjoyment of the game.

Lynx Ai Junior Golf Set for Ages 5-7 (Kids 45-48" Tall) Blue – Official MGS Forum Review by Liam Lydon

PushCart.jpg.4bcede91d2815e0579507bb4ca05026d.jpg

Intro

Hi everyone! My name is Liam Lydon, I am 6 years old and live just outside of Philadelphia. I am 46" and I am super excited to be testing the Lynx Ai 5 Club Junior Golf Set for Ages 5-7. I have been going golfing with my Dad since I was three, where I spent most of the time eating my snacks and riding the cart. Golf is one of my favorite things to do with my Dad, my favorite golfing memory was playing glow golf in my back yard for my birthday.

Backyard.jpg.9281ab2fec9c240d0e8607ede1878074.jpg

Outside of golf my favorite things to do are play wiffleball and soccer with my older brother Ian, jump on our moon bounce. I also enjoy fishing during the summers.

Testing

What I am most excited for about the testing is thta my Dad told me we will get to go play the big guy course more, I am also looking forward to getting a new driver since my old one is too small for me now. I will be doing my testing at a few places:DrivingRange.jpg.7ef902261027050df082935d8cf250e5.jpg

1. My backyard- my Dad said he will cut it into a chip and putt again.

2. Skramble House KOP the indoor simulator.

3. Big guy course(The Club at Shannondell -  Audubon, PA)Course.jpg.ddfeb5b2856fbdce967b110d7cbb4e87.jpg

I am excited to get my new clubs, I am hoping to get the 5 club set so I can have a 7 iron and hybrid like my Dad. Thank you MyGolfSpy Forum and All Kids Golf for letting me be a tester like my Dad.

Unboxing and First Impressions:

My first thoughts when I got my new clubs was "YAY! I GOT THE 5 CLUB SET DAD"

PXL_20240716_200335568.jpg.24cb76c06d82cab3d0e5f50caf4476d9.jpg

I was so excited that I got the 5 club set and then my Dad made me wait to open he said he needed some pictures first so I kept reading all the new clubs I got on the side of the box.

PXL_20240716_200949403_MP.jpg.6a5768bf11d775e8a6db2405ee0ba5a0.jpg

When I finally got to open the box I was really excited that I had club covers on my hybrid and driver just like my Dad, my old clubs did not have those when we bought them my Dad said the small fabric ones were just to protect the clubs when they ship and I could get rid of those, something about not needing iron covers

PXL_20240716_202022142.NIGHT.jpg.3fa88f7171c7190b016ae13d2772ba8e.jpg

The first club I grabbed was my driver and what I loved most was it has the same pattern (my Dad said carbon fiber) that my Dad has on his driver. This driver is longer than my old one but I can swing it faster already so I know I can hit bombs with it. My Dad let me play with it for awhile before he took his pictures, I think he knew I was excited.

The next club I got was my 4 Hybrid and I haven't had a hybrid before so I was really excited to get a new club, my dad said it should help me get the ball up higher and go further so I can't wait to test it out, he said I can't use this one outback but we can play in the garage tonight.

This one also looked just like my Dad's and it has a cover like his too. The clubs all seem to be lighter than my old ones to I think I'll be able to swing them faster.

Before my Dad could get pictures of my 7 iron and PW I snuck out back to try them out with my brother.

MaxLight's Review of the Lynx Ai Junior Golf Club Set from All Kids Golf

Introduction

My name is Max, and I am 8 years old. I live in eastern Pennsylvania. My dad introduced me to golf a few years ago, right around the time that he started playing himself. I’ve been going to the driving range and the course with him ever since. I’ve also gone to a golf camp, taken an after-school class, and been to two USGA championships (US Senior Open at Saucon Valley CC in 2022, and the US Women's Open at Lancaster CC this year). I am pretty good instinctively with my driver and putter, but need to work on my short game.

image.png.24a20a3728975a7013370005cc830d88.png

My dad tries to coach me, too, but I prefer to figure things out by myself. We recently played our first full 18 holes together (he usually teed me up around 100-120 yards from the green). I’m very competitive, but also sometimes get distracted by my attempts to master trick shots and be silly.

I also play soccer, baseball, basketball, and basically any other sport you can imagine. I've become really good at disc golf this summer at camp, too! I’m excited to try these new clubs out to see if they fit me better than my old ones, which I probably have outgrown. I can hit the ball decently for distance but need forgiveness as I continue to learn and get better.

I’m planning to test my new clubs with a combination of practice and on-course play. I’m going to use them at home (we have a net and a SkyTrak in the garage), at a full simulator that I have access to, and also on the course. I want to compare them to my current clubs to see if they are longer and/or more consistent. I also want to see how they feel in terms of weight, grip and flex. I also am hoping I’ll have more total clubs (currently just driver, iron, wedge and putter) to choose from based on distance and lie, and I’m curious to see if this will be beneficial for me at this point in my golf journey. I’ve only ever known one set of clubs in my life until now! I am actually at overnight camp right now and am returning this weekend, and was planning on focusing on golf in the second half of the summer anyway.

image.png.632b6a1e90c7b14a4c2e7c8615d266b7.png

I’ve never heard about All Kids Golf in that past, so I’m interested to see how these clubs fare. If they are suited to my height and weight, provide the options I need to hit the shots I know how to hit, and provide reasonable length and forgiveness, I’m hoping that these will become my new gamers for the next year or two (and for my two younger brothers in the years after that!).

Unboxing and First Impressions (9 out of 10)

I’m back from a month at camp! I’ve gotten really good at Frisbee and played a lot of soccer and gaga, but haven’t swung a golf club in over a month. My dad wrote me a letter to tell me about my new clubs and the fist thing I wanted to do when I got home was to try them out!

PXL_20240721_220804234_MP.jpg.4bcc0f441e6b332a6ceb37229a3d958e.jpg

My first reaction was, "Wow, these look so cool!" I loved the colorful design of the bag. My old set of clubs had just a wedge, iron, driver and putter, so I’m excited to now have an additional iron and a hybrid added to the mix – especially since I’m now playing full holes and could use some longer clubs for second shots on par 5 holes.

PXL_20240721_221314534_MP.jpg.5dfebfd24df3ec66b3356c295e993093.jpg

Since my dad had the golf net and launch monitor set up in the garage, I gave the clubs a few swings. I definitely need to work out some kinks in my swing after this long layoff to get a true feel for how these compare to my old clubs. The first thing I noticed is that they are much longer, and since I’m the bottom of the height range for this model, it means choking down, which I find to be a bit awkward at first.

Another thing that I noticed is that my bag kept falling over when I pulled out clubs. I think this has to do with the fact that one of the slots, when the stand is out, is vertical and the two clubs I had I that slot thus sat on top of one another. When I pulled out a club, the grip rubs against the hosel of the other, pulling the entire bag forward.

The club themselves look really nice, just like my dad’s. The cavity back design is cool, and I like having clubs that look just like adult clubs. My dad took a few practice swings and tells me that they felt good when he hit them in the center of the club face (eventually). Once I do a little practice and get back into the swing of things (pun intended, never too young for wordplay), I really want to test these clubs (which are maybe a little big for me) against my old clubs (which are a little small for me) to see if I can hit them farther. Stay tuned for some on-course testing and results soon!

Final Review

Aesthetics (18 out of 20)

I’ve learned that something looking “cool” is just as important, if not more so, than how it actually functions for kids. And since our main interest at this age is making golf fun and enjoyable and creating an environment in which they choose to play it among the bevy of athletic options they have, something that is designed with kids’ interests in mind is very helpful. In that regard, the camo-type bag pattern with bright color accents is great.

PXL_20240902_232408520_MP.jpg.5861b5a20ee48ee79e7fc9e3786cc843.jpg

The shiny chrome catches their attention, and the cavity-back pattern on the irons bridges the gap between club as toys and clubs as serious athletic instruments. These clubs had Max wanting to pick them up, strap them on his back, and hit the course.

PXL_20240902_232350186_MP.jpg.5883d0d5a23460c43df778be31291d6f.jpg

The Numbers (10 out of 20)

We have a SkyTrak (OG) that we use to hit off a mat into a net in the garage. While the SkyTrak is solid, I’m not fully bought into its accuracy for low swing speeds, especially as the turf interaction from the mat likely impacts a low-swing-speed swing more than an average adult swing speed.

Testing Max’s old iron (no loft information available) against the Lynx Ai 7-iron (also no loft information available) on the SkyTrak shows marginal gains in ball speed, and marginal decreases in launch angle and spin using the Lynx Ai iron. The result was a marginal increase in distance. This could be solely due to the club possibly being a lower loft.

Short game and putting seemed to be a strength of these clubs. Using our BirdieBall putting mat, some indoor testing implied them these clubs outperformed Max’s old putter from medium range, as Max sank significantly more putts from this range with the Lynx Ai putter. Both the old and new putters performed similarly from short and long range. But medium range seems to be where most people have the most opportunity for improvement, so this was good.

On The Course (13 out of 20)

On the course, I couldn’t convince Max to hit the driver. It was just too big for him, being at the bottom end of the height range for this set. He used his old set’s driver, which was actually similar to the Lynx Ai set’s hybrid in size and loft.

The hybrid proved a difficult club to hit. I don’t think Max really had any on-course strikes with the hybrid that really got airborne. This seems to be similar to most folks trying to hit a 3-wood off the deck. I would question the need for kids this age/height to use a hybrid club at all, instead of just focusing on their irons. And since they hit it shorter and thus have less dispersion, they tend to find themselves in fewer “rescue” situations than us adults!

PXL_20240830_183606072_MP.jpg.c11fa71e7c9e4b07c59efafd6a0d1704.jpg

I noticed something with the putter. It has an alignment line on the top which goes across both the top edge of the head, as well as the bottom part of the blade. The result is that, unless you hold the club at the exact right angle—which seemed steep to me—that the two lines will not match up, which may be worse than no line at all.

PXL_20240902_232303750_MP.jpg.19ff5dee34c5e4f0136121d71994f13e.jpg

The irons, however, really shined on the course. Max struck both the 7-iron and 9-iron significantly better than his old set’s iron. Having two options for different distances allowed him to pick the right club and then use full swings (since realistically he doesn’t have another swing he practices). Both clubs launched higher and landed softer than his old iron. By the end of his third round, I decided to move his tee distance back 20 yards because he had become so adept at using the irons to approach the green. It also brought the element of decision making into the gameplay equation, forcing Max to think about what club his situation warranted, making the game feel more like “real” golf as opposed to a pitch-and-putt.

The Good, the bad, the in between (8 out of 10)

It’s hard to find a perfect “Goldilocks” set of golf clubs for kids since they are, by nature, going to need to fit a range of kids (height, ability, strength, etc.). Heck, our kids likely grew from the time we gave their heights until the end of the testing period!

The stand bag has an odd divider design, which seems to lead to club grips rubbing when being pulled and the bag collapsing as a result. This seems to be a case of edgy style taken too far to the point where it negatively impacts performance. In fact, Max’s #1 piece of feedback was how hard it was to get the clubs out of the bag.

As probably with all clubs, the number one thing that matters is, can you put a good strike on the ball? I have not seen that there is any technology in these clubs or any kids’ clubs that will otherwise appreciably change the result of a strike. Having clubs that kids feel comfortable with—that feel good in their hands, that are light and easy to swing, and that make them feel cool and capable—is probably the best thing to help them strike the ball well. Most of the rest is probably noise.

Play it or Trade it? (18 out of 20)

We will absolutely keep these clubs. The fact that the driver and, to a lesser extent, the hybrid did not see extensive use is fine, because they give Max something to grow into over the course of the next year (or two). I find it doubtful that you will get better performance in a set of youth clubs unless they’re custom built.

The list price seems reasonable, although I would suggest that it would make sense to cut out a club for this age group (perhaps include a 3 wood—which another Lynx Ai set comes with—in place of the too-big driver and the hard-to-hit hybrid) and knock a few bucks off the price.

Conclusion

The Lynx Ai youth golf clubs are attractive enough to pique a child’s interest in golf, and functional enough to meet the average child’s needs on the course. They seem to function only marginally better than Max’s previous kids’ golf clubs. That said, the vast majority of young golfers will likely not strike the ball well enough to be able to discern any meaningful performance differences between clubs. All around, the clubs seem about “average” with some high points and some low points, and this is reflected in the overall score. The most important thing at this age is that the clubs make the game fun, both through aesthetics and comfort, so that the kids keep coming back. The Lynx Ai youth golf clubs accomplish this goal admirably.

Final Score: 76 out of 100

Grant AFG's Review of the Lynx Ai Junior Golf Club Set from All Kids Golf

Hi copy.jpg

Hi everyone! I'm Grant, and I'm really really excited to be getting a new set of golf clubs to test from All Kids Golf!  I'm 10 years old, turning 11 in October, and I'm 58" tall. That puts me into the Lynx Ai Junior Golf Club 7-club set for kids 57-60" tall. I can't wait for them to arrive!

image.png

My Dad really really likes golf, so he's been taking me out on the course for 9 holes since I was 4. At first I would just hit a few shots and was mostly along for the cart ride and snacks, but now I'll play a full 9, sometimes more, and I'm even playing from the forward tees now! My Dad has had me (and my little brother and sister) in US Kids Golf clubs for years now, but I've outgrown my current set. Guess now they'll go to my little brother!

Old Clubs copy.jpg

As far as my golf ability, I really only play for about 2 months every year.  My Dad likes to brag that I'm a really good athlete; he even jokes to his grown-up friends that he's not convinced he's actually my father, because I'm such a better natural athlete than he is! 🤣  Anyway, the point is, I play a lot of baseball every year and I'm a really good hitter. But, that means my Dad typically won't let me play much golf during baseball season because he's worried it will mess with my baseball swing.

Baseball copy.jpg

Baseball season is over though, and while I'm about to start football season, there are a lot of twilight 9's in my future over the next couple of months!  Let's go let's go!

There aren’t enough emojis to like this intro Hayes.  I hope you and Grant get a ton of rounds in together.

Grant, don't beat up on your old man too much.  He gets enough crap from his friends on here already.

That being said, I can promise we're all rooting for you to kick his butt around the course!  Good Luck, and enjoy the test!

Liams Unboxing post will becoming soon I just need to find some time to piece it all together. Since the clubs have come in I don't think we've experienced silence in the house, hes been wearing his golf glove around including during a mini golf round. We took them out to the driving range last night to get our first testing session in.

PXL_20240720_012852209.jpg.10ead0b163233458372314657a42288f.jpgIMG_6850.jpg.457e2867f6833cb9255d8a5a770aa4c6.jpgIMG_6871.jpg.0cd2ffba5f6696d499b429e7c1a0b757.jpgIMG_6885(1).jpg.50c701c11e7bb73103bbe4f333c4a6b2.jpg

His first impressions after hitting them "My driver is my new best club beacuse I can hit high bombers now." , he also saw the kids golf balls on the box, that Lynx has to offer, lighter and better for low swing speeds so we will be purchasing a box of those. Well be cutting the backyard into a chip and putt and will have updates to follow.
