MGI Zip Navigator AT - remote freezing

Hey team - I am hoping somebody can help me with a problem that I have with my remote. I have bought a lightly used AT from  a local golfer, and it is performed flawlessly for 10+ rounds now. 

However, recently the remote froze, became unresponsive and the buggy drove away out of control. Luckily it crashed into a deep bunker, and I was able to catch up to it and pull the battery out. It seemed to reboot, and the remote control worked normally again. 

I hoped this was a one-off - BUT fast forward to today, about 5 rounds later – and the same thing has happened. The buggy has driven away out of control across a fairway – and fortunately, stopped by a tree.

This is absolutely ridiculous and completely dangerous. 

Any idea what is causing this? The green light on the unlock button remains on when this occurs. 

After pulling the battery today the remote was still frozen and causing it to drive. I needed to use the manual drive dial - to allow it to move. Once I did so - the remote ‘lock’ button illuminated red. I put it away and went full manual.

Any ideas what the issue is here or how could fix it?  Or is the remote faulty?

I’ve lost confidence using it now.

I am having somewhat of the same issue.  Remote has a mind of its own - stops, turns right, etc all on its own.  DOES respond however to stop.   Tried to “re pair” the unit.  Same issues.  Ideas?

Was also going to suggest trying that. 

I have a Zip Navigator and .. fortunately so far .. have not seen this problem. I have not had reason to connect their customer service so cannot say if they could be helpful, or not. 

One thing to watch out for is if the remote is in a pocket and a button gets pushed inadvertantly .. causing the cart to move... (eg a back pocket and you bend over on the putting green).

At least one other user on here has said he wears the remote clipped to his belt with the buttons facing out, and away from where he might touch them.
