RoverRick
The new B330 has larger core, softer cover, new dimples. Supposed to spin more around the green and go farther and play better in the wind. You know bigger, better, stronger, faster etc.... Maybe he bought them new on eBay. TWShoot67
I was just curious since the Tour Van posted the Ball as NEW B330. I'm sure it must be something different then just the 2012 version. That would be strange if it's just the 2012 ball as then every ball thats being used by every winner this year should have which year model they are using. I can remember that Davis love used the 2005 version of the pro v1x for years later until he went with B-Stone. RoverRick
With so many versions of the Pro V it is not uncommon for the pros to play a certain version. This is the case with most balls. I think Tiger is still playing the Nike One Tour D which is no longer availible to us mere mortals. Bridgestone is probably just wanting to get the fact that they are new and improved. revkev
I'm so bummed about that Nike One Tour D - I don't like their new offerings nearly as much. I've also noticed that several of their players are still using the Nike One Tour D. I wonder if Tiger would send me a few dozen. I could always put my revkev over his TW. It is amazing to me that the advestisements tout how much better the newer version of a ball is and yet you see players staying with the older version - I think it's almost always a trade off with balls. The older one has the atribute that a particular player prefered. The older one has the atribute that a particular player prefered. As an engineer, I can promise you that unless it is some revolutionary material, everything is a trade off because the ball must be a certain size and weight and the properties of the material are finite. I spend days looking at a certain aspect of my project and finally decide on how to do it and what materials to use and then show someone how brilliant the design is and I can see in their face that it does not look one bit different to them than it did the week before. And if they really get into it then they will ask why it does not do such and such went that was one of the things I eliminated early on because of certain trade offs and limitations. The discussions we have here about changing the rules on equipment to make it easier for the weekend hacker is sort of funny to me that they think it is the rules that are holding anything back. It is physics that is the problem. I loved the Nike One Platinum but for every one else it was 10 yards shorter, For me it was 10 yards longer. TWShoot67
Can't really comment on the Nike Balls as I only played two the Platinum and the Tour D and if I were forced to play one it would be the Tour D. But since I can choose what works for me I choose either the Prov1X or the Penta 5. Just depends on course conditions as to which I play. Sorry for getting of the Original topic , but after reading the last two posts I just felt complelled to add my 2 cents.... LOL.
