I don't have a favourite ball anything with Urethane cover I think is good for me, Bridgestone Tour BXS I do think is good ball andTaylermadeTour response for my HC more expensive balls doesn't matter much at the moment, buy mostly lakeballs or used balls.

Greetings
Christof

This year I upgraded from Noodle and recycled balls to Bridgestone e12 as my main ball. I definitely get better distance and spin with then over the Noodle. I've tried some Vice Pro I was gifted and they are much less forgiving than the e12, I keep them in my bag for Par 3s, but my slice on my driver is still erratic and I often send them into the woods if I play then on a Par 4 or 5. I still have a few Cut Grey floating around in my bag from a box I got a couple years ago. Those treated me pretty well too, but the e12 works best for my game.

My game isn't good enough to be ball sensitive, I don't think.

The primary reason that I play Pro V1s is that I can order my own favorite ball number on them.
I've also taken to playing the Penfold Ace on par 3s, just for luck, and it seems pretty much the same to me.
I could probably buy whatever is on sale at Dick's and play pretty much the same.
One consolation is that I don't hit balls far enough to lose many of them anymore.

On these pages, I've read about balls from companies like Snell and Vice.
I've never seen them in person, they don't sell them in our pro shop,
and I don't recall seeing them in sporting goods shops..
Are they from overseas?

@RetiredBoomer for most of the time I play ProV1s since I receivemthemmss gifts, etc. But lately, I played a few holes with the Callaway Supersoft and the Chrome Tour X.  Interestingly I played well with both, and perhaps better than the ProV1. I’m guessing that they are significantly different balls in terms of who should use them. Would appreciate any thoughts.

  • 2 weeks later...

I play Vice Pro and Pro Plus mostly now, coming from ProVs. I love ProVs but the Vice are cheaper and frankly, more fun, with colours and such. I haven't noticed a difference in performance, especially on the green where it matters most to me. Most people that I've introduced to the them end up with some. I still love a ProV though.

Snell’s HQ is in Massachusetts (where Dean is originally from) while Vice’s is somewhere in Germany. Balls for both brands are produced in various white label factories in Asia.

Thanks for updating;  not sure why I thought Snell was Canada.
