PXG Black Ops Irons - 2024 Forum Review

I know I posted my review, but thought I'd add a quick thought here.....

I struggled at first, but these will remain in my bag. confidence is such a thing for me as the worst part of my game is in between my ears. I would suggest anyone in the GI market to give these a rip!

Since I knew u were my height so I added the length of the 7i they fit me at.. Hard to hold it still but 39 1/2" is accurate from tip of shaft.. Seems to fit extremely well! Back feels better after 18

Thank you for the measurements! I’ll compare them to my current set. Ever since I tried the Black Ops irons, I can’t stop thinking about them!

Question for the testers coming from XCOR2 irons - how much more forgiving did you find the BO irons in comparison to the XCOR2? I realize the XCOR2 isn't a true game improvement iron, but I'm curious to know how much more or less forgiving the BO irons were in comparison.

Just reading this.. Honestly, it was more then I anticipated.. The distance was close but the forgiveness was on another level! I would give the xcor2's a 5/10 and the B.O. an 8+/10

I'm my opinion, if ur a solid striker, go with the xcor2's simply bc of the price! They are like $79 a club and get extremely close to the same distance.. If ur like me and are grateful u made the ball hit anywhere on the face then BO is worth the extra dough

I've been curious about the PXG speaker.. Does it use an app for gps? Is it worth the $100? What all is involved with the app if it has one? Can't find any reviews of it online.. Anyone know anything about it?

I haven’t seen anything about the speaker.

BO slightly beat out the xcor2, but I personally think it's bc the mishits are straighter and longer

Would love to see Josh or Hayes distance with the xcor2 vs BO.. Think it would be identical with a solid ball striker

Judging by how good their other products have been I'd say the speaker is probably pretty solid!

Found my groove with the Black Op irons today.. Every swing had confidence behind it! Today was what I've been looking for out of a fitting.. Could feel the sweet spot on just about every swing.. Even was pulling the 5i out on 200 yard shots and leaving the woods in the bag.. It just felt right.. If not for my my putter having a record day (the wrong way) I think I could've been in the low to mid 70s, but it wasn't meant to be and ended up with an 81.. Still walked off more impressed with these irons than I have been (and that's saying a lot!)

Can you compare these to the 0211 XCOR2 sizes? I'm curious about how different or similar they may be on the sole width and blade length. I know the top line is thicker, though.

Another solid day with these irons! The sound of the sweet spot was turning heads today.. Such a beautiful sound.. Had a couple strangers stop me and asked about them so I let them swing em a few times.. Didn't really work well for them bc of the length of the irons but they loved the feel and seen what they could do.. Didn't even notice water hazards or sand bunkers today, just focused on the greens.. went over a tall oak 35 ft in front of me to hit the fringe 40 yards past the oak with the GW..a stinger with the 5i to work to below a pin oak and set up for an easy chip.. They do it all!

I'm still impressed with these irons. The feel is incredible when hitting the sweet spot. Granted, I don't do that often....so I know when I do haha

I agree that the sound these irons make when hit is fantastic. The feel compared to my current irons isn't even comparable.  Distance with the BO irons is also unreal.

I’ve tested the irons twice.  I gave them a go today…I hit the 7 iron with a stiff shaft.  They are so buttery smooth and fun to hit.  I started hitting the 7iron 184/185 yards consistently but then I really tagged one and….wow! I’ve included pictures below.  I plan on buying them in the new year.

I haven't forgotten about you.. We have been on our annual outage for close to a month without a day off so haven't had time to post.. My phone is acting crazy so will post pics when I can but the length is the exact same in the xcor2's and B.O. and the BO are about 5/16 thicker at the fattest part of the sole
