Bag the Shag Bag?

Okay, I must admit that I'm a sucker for trying anything that holds even a smidgen of promise to make my golf life easier and more productive, and if the Challicare Ball Picker hangs in there for a few months, it will have served its purpose well. Perhaps it's because I'm a former tennis professional who has been used to similar ball hoppers over the years, but when I saw this gadget on the Amazon Vine listing, we sangged it.

Thus far, I've been out with it at least a 1/2-dozen times, and only on the last time out did I experience the first signs that my concerns about the design might just be on point. That said, the picker is easy to assemble, is adjustable for length as well as picker angle, can pick up multiple balls at a time, and is a back saver for an oldtimer like me. I was surprised that it was able to pick balls even rough that would be tough to get a club through. I've only used it with about 20 balls, and I'm a bit skeptical about it being able to handle to handle as many balls as a shag bag without them falling out of the bottom.

Almost all pros with this thing, but the one con is that the springs at the bottom which allow the balls in and holds them in are likely to become stretched out and the balls will fall out the bottom. We shall see. If/when I start having issues I'll amend this little review, but for now, this little tool is an asset!
