Hey fellow golfers,

I've been struggling with consistency on the course lately, and I realized a big part of it was forgetting my pre-shot routine and a few key points i take before my shot. How does a note holder built into your golf glove sound? Any suggestions or general feedback would be great, i have a couple prototypes and i believe they help me quite a lot already.

Hope someone out there can let me know their thoughts.

Cheers.

Why not? As I was learning to play I kept a little three ring note book attached to my bag - I used to have lots of stuff in it.

Do you use a tracking system - I’d imagine there would be a way to plug some pre shot reminders into those that you could view at a glance as well.

Driver: Taylor Made Stealth 2 10.5 Diamana S plus 60  R flex   - 44.25

Fairways:  Ping G410 5, 7, 9 wood  Alta CB red 65 R flex

Hybrid:  Ping G410  26 degree  Alta CB Red 70 R flex

Irons: Ping G430  7-PW, 45, 50 Alta CB black 65 soft R flex

Wedges:  Ping 195 S54, E58

Wedges and irons are - 1/2” and one degree flat

Putter: Sacks Parente Duke 32.5”

Ball: Titleist Pro VI or Callaway Chrome Soft X ls

While not at the same time I was fit for every club in my bag as well as the Pro VI ball. I use the chrome soft x ls on my league course.  It has much softer softer greens than the club that I belong to.

I’m on a mission to shoot my age - lifetime lowest round is 66 and I’m currently 67.

It's a solid foundation to have.  Especially if you have an errant shot, get frustrated,  and don't use your routine on the next shot, causing more frustration , etc

Bridgestone went that direction by incorporating it onto the mindset logo on their balls

Just an old newbie golfer, trying to learn and improve 1 club at a time.

I am also developing golf apps and may come up with something new soon.

Cheers.

If you have prototypes, it might be worth testing them in different game conditions to see how effective they are. Maybe consider adding this feature into the app to make notes easier to access. Happy developing!

I wish I could find the pic. But it showed a driver where the owner used a label maker to put his swing thoughts on the top of his. I still don’t know if this was serious or a joke.

I have written them on my glove before. Worked til they changed. Now I take and index card with my daily remainders and keep it folded in my left pocket. I feel it everytime I go for my ball marker.

I've done this pretty frequently and it works.

If I'm playing a course new to me, I'll plan out my round via Google Earth and write down on an index card potential clubs/start lines for every hole

I'll  typically take an index card with me each round with 2-3 things I want to be sure to focus on for that day

....

Staying in play off the tee might as well be sharpied to my arm at this point though

football arm band with the playcalls could be something too if wearing it doesn't bother you

Yep. My first card notes:

Fairways

Greens

These two are game changers for me.

My first 2 are typically along the lines of

  1. Have a 2nd shot
  2. 50 yrds and in .... be on the green

3rd one varies pending what I've been working on ... maybe it's set up oriented, takeaway, bunkers, etc

I'll admit that I haven't had a card on me in my last several rounds .... but after multiple bad mishits off the tee, it's coming back my next time out

Not a bad idea at all. I'm a constant over thinker, so I try to limit my thoughts to 1 or 2 key ideas per club each round and have those thoughts written down on my phone in case I need to reset mid round. Here's my current one:

Screenshot_20240814_151701_SamsungNotes2.jpg.2e32ce90100c47d00616b7efb444e533.jpg

Then in my stance limit it to the four things I say every swing:

"Cowboy" - the particular look and feel of the stance I have apparently makes me look like I'm on a horse, and my playing partners make fun of me for it, but it keeps me stable.

"Grip" - firm, comfy grip that's not white knuckles it.

"Core" - making sure I'm keeping my core tight or else I sway and fat it.

"Tempo" - not swinging out of my shoes.

Having them written on a glove or elsewhere would work just as well if you dont want to say it every shot.

Rag tag bag, but it does the job.

Taylormade R1 driver.

Ping G400 3 wood.

Cleveland Halo Launcher 3 hybrid.

Cleveland CBX launcher irons (5-PW).

Assorted wedges (48, 52, 58).

Odyssey White Hot Pro 2.0 putter.
