Don’t know if a podcast episode constitutes an article of interest, but I listened to the latest On the Mark Golf Podcast with Lance Reader from Krank Golf. There was a lot of interesting bits in the episode but what I found most interesting was a discussion about coefficient of restitution. USGA limits COR at 0.83 or 83% energy transfer from the club to the ball, but most manufacturers achieve that at swing speeds of 115 mph. Krank has developed thinner faces to achieve that same COR at much lower swing speeds. They equate it with choosing a driver head like you would a shaft stiffness…anyway, interesting stuff all around.

I won’t rehash it all in a oost here.

But i had nearly an hour long ohone discussion with Lance about this very topic 2 years ago.   Lets sum up the call by saying i was dizzy afterwards from all the Spin he was throwing at me about his clubs not being on the USGA approved list and they aren’t. So take what you may have heard with a very small grain of salt.

After listening to the podcast and watching Bryson's YouTube channel one can only wonder if these drivers and woods are the next best clubs in golf.

The Krank website does say the Krank Fire Pro driver and Pro Tour are USGA conforming and so does the USGA. You can download a list of conforming drivers from the USGA website.

THanks

I'm a 74-year-old seventies shooter who (twenty yards ago) could easily count on a few drives nudging 295-300 every round.  Now, despite being solid, healthy and fit, sadly....those days are no more.  Since I no longer play in tournaments, keep a handicap or bet with friends, I had no reservations about buying a Krank NON-CONFORMING driver.  For me, at a swing speed that's now probably just under 100 mph, it's given me probably another 15 to 20 yards that I had lost simply due to age.  Years ago, Arnold Palmer took a LOAD of crap for promoting Callaway's "illegal" ERC driver but he wasn't suggesting that golfers CHEAT.... only that they have more fun.  And today, obviously, I agree.  There are companies out there who will shave the face of your current driver or sell you an OEM with a shaved face but the Krank product is a forged, cup-face piece of equipment that makes sense for a LOT of golfers.  And it goes without saying that Dechambeau's Krank clubs are completely within the bounds of USGA guidelines for competition.
