Bang60 Posted October 4 Posted October 4 Not sure I can xpress my question very well, but here goes? I'm using a Demo 6iron shaft in a 7iron head and a 5iron head to test different model irons without buying a whole set, pure accidentally I bought the 6iron shaft it was cheap and had the demo adapter these Mizuno iron adapters are hard to buy if your not a Pro So if I put the 6iron shaft in the 7iron head or 5iron head I've effectively either soft or hard Stepped that club, my question is if I've soft Stepped by going down the Grip have I now hard Stepped that club? If anyone has tried this I'd appreciate your feedback Quote I’m a hacker who loves nothing more than to change how I play, be that grips shafts and heads its all fair game lol…

Hard and soft stepping is more about changing the tip trimming which has more of an effect on the clubs stiffness than the butt end.
