Some context for the title, I'm a Social Worker, in Canada that works with kids/teens who are on the autism spectrum.

Part of my job, is to help find these kids a positive outlet, and then help them do that particular thing. One of my clients LOVES golf, and I mean loves it! He chooses not to speak, and prefers communicating via choices given on fingers and he can pick the finger he wants to do.

You can quiz him on random golf questions, like who came in 4th in the 1967 masters, give him 4 options on your fingers and he knows the answer, it's rather impressive lol.

I say all this to preface this, he always wants to golf, twice a week with me. Be it going to the driving range, or indoor simulator as he doesn't hit it very far. We were driving to a new simulator place and I was driving by a course I've played dozens of times, but had never noticed the second entrance, which I took. It takes you to the turn, which has a 9 hole pitch and putting course, that is completely free, with no tee time needed and managed by the city.

I have grown up in my hometown, and.after returning to it from living out west and in Europe, I had NO idea this course existed, which it has since I was 7.

Needless to say, he is absolutely hooked and now that course is the only acceptable place to go lol

TLDR; accidentally stumbled across a free pitch and putt 9 hole course that has existed forever.

Is this a common thing elsewhere?? I've never seen or heard of it before! Genuinely curious to hear from people, from, well, everywhere!

Free is just another word for "somebody else paying for it".

So it's managed and maintained by the course staff at a city owned course, as it is right beside the turn of said course. It's really nice for people who can't afford to golf often or at all, or for people who don't have alot of distance and still want to golf!
