As you would imagine, there is quite a bit of suspended water in the air, and I do t think my go to grips are going to cut it here.  Getting a lot of slip…. I don’t want any l thing weird looking… but I need a grip for humid weather.  Anyone have any suggestions?

I've been searching for a good answer myself as humidity & sweat add up real quick during my rounds on my grips.

I currently use the Lamkin ST+ Hybrid for my irons; Using that and switching out my gloves ever 6-9 holes for a fresher dry pair has left me with no issues really, even on some of the hotter humid days here in Texas.

I do played the Lamkin Crossline Full Chord grips as well on 2 of my wedges, and they, truly, grip too & through anything. But I couldn't imagine playing those grips on all my clubs because damn they are rough on the hands after awhile.

Full cord.  Texas has all the heat and humidity.

The other thing you can use but will need to clean the grips constantly is this.  Then just about any grip will work just fine.

The only other thing that works and hear me out because you are going to call me crazy, but, if you put cold water on your hands and then dry them with a towel.  I didn't believe it when I was told to do it but did it and hands stayed dry long enough until the next water station.

Living in Coastal Georgia we deal with high heat and humidity for a good portion of the year.

I have switched to Claw Daddy Pro gloves for most of the year.  Breathable and very grippy unless they get really wet.  In that case I switch to rain gloves.

For the few cold days of the year I switch to leather or winter gloves.

Instead of the grip what about your glove. I researched and wound up buying one of the Mokom golf gloves to try. Believe it or not it is still in one piece after three seasons. It took a couple rounds to get used to it. Check out my review below.

MCCs are what I use

That’s what I have.  They probably are overdue for replacement.  I have the green light for new irons… I’m holding out for possibly a few months to see what’s getting replaced for next year.  I really don’t need new irons, but a heart wants what a heart wants….

A re-grip and lie angle adjustment would probably get me 2-3 more seasons out of the current irons.

I've used MCC+4 Mids here in the Midwest for years without any issues. I do replace them in appropriate timeframes, so I've never really had slippage issues from sweat or rain. An old glove will cause more issues than sweat will.

I've tried the CP2 Pro and Wraps, but they did feel a bit slippery when wet, so I stopped using those.

This thread makes me really want to try the Star 360s. I liked the Dry-Tacs for years but poor life on them imo. The MCC+4s have held up great, but do like a tackier grip. Hoping when the ZXi5s release I can order some without grips in the Spring once in the new house--got a great workbench with vise clamp for a re-gripping area and can give the air compressor trick a stab and see how they are!

Down here in Coastal SC it gets as hot and humid as you guys are in Texas.

Now I admit in hot humid weather I sweat like a Prostitute in a Baptist church. I have been using Crossline Cords for years now. Now those grips do eat up gloves but I use cheaper Wilson gloves from Wally World. In hot weather I do rotate out gloves like 5 times a round. Now I do not take off the glove when putting either. Hey if it was good enough for Jack Nicklaus then it is good enough for me. Now I do scrub my grips weekly. I did try the Tour Wraps some and I have like 2 sets I switch out between the vintage clubs some.

One not that is an old school trick. To get cord grips more "aggressive" when you take them out of the wrapping grasp the butt end and the mouth end and pop them. That exposes the cords more.

I play in the Great Lakes region, in all conditions, including high heat/high humidity.  I also play without a glove.  I’ve tried many different grips (decade, tour wraps, microsuede tour wraps, full cord/half cord).  Last year, I put on the Golf Pride CP2 Wraps - they’re the best grips I’ve used so far.  With about 250 rounds, plus a winter of SIM practise and play, I only now have to replace my driver grip.  The durability and tackiness of the the CP2 Wraps are great.

There used to be a great 'tweener - the GolfPride Tour Velvet Super Tack.  For some reason, GolfPride canceled this grip.

I am on the hunt to find a suitable replacement.

b. Driver specs (loft/flex). PXG Gen 6 10.5*

Hybrid.  Not fan of wearing a glove unless wet or humid.  Cords are okay, but enjoy the Lamkin hybrids a lot.  They last long time, with a little cleaning they feel soft and grip well forever.

Came here to say Iomic are great. I've also seen a lot of people shout out Star grips and I agree they're good if you just want a solid grip. I find that their vent hole is too large for my arccos sensors to reliably stay plugged into the butt end and thats why I've switched to Iomic. If you don't use arccos sensors though the Star grips are very good and significantly cheaper than Iomic.

I've tried all sorts.  Had very good experience with the Lamkin UTX grip.  You get the benefit of cord, but doesn't chew thru gloves like the MCCs did.  These days I use the Lamkin Crossline 360 and it like it.  If you're interested, try the Hirzl golf gloves.  Something about the Kangaroo leather that they're made from gives them great grip in humid and/or sweaty conditions, and the things are bulletproof, can't wear them out.  They're also washable (truly).  More expensive than other gloves but given the grip and durability they're worth it IMO

If you use a glove, look into the Finger Ten gloves on Amazon.  They are made from some sort of cloth.  I live in Mississippi and these are the only gloves I've ever used that really guarantee a non-slip grip in the heat and humidity.  They last forever and when they get dirty I just throw them in the wash.  And, they're cheap.  Right now a 6 pack is $34.

I don't work for Finger Ten.  They're just that good.

I have been a convert from Golf Pride corded grips to the Lamkin Genesis Crossline Cord. I find the Genesis Cord to have at least as much grip but with a slightly softer feel that isn't as harsh on your hands when practicing for longer spells. In Humid weather, I find that the Genesis material never gets slippy.
