I am 72. Was a 3. Surgery on both shoulders, both knees replaced.  Played Mizuno Quads, Vokey Wedges, Taylormade driver, callaway fair way woods, all stiff.  Thinking about playing again as I feel better.  Looking for ideas for clubs to put in new bag.

Welcome to MGS. Seeing as you have experience with clubs, and live in o e of the golf meccas of the US, I think going for a fitting may be your best bet. Especially with new hardware all around.

Do you still have your set handy to see how they perform for you?

our pro shop has new rental sets that you can take out to the range, for a fee. Surely somewhere near you may have that option? Also, any free demo days may be available  near you to sign up for?

Welcome to the forum! For an affordable option that has tested as well if not beat out the big guys look up Sub70 for irons. I can't personally vouch for their woods but the irons and wedges are as good as anyone's and at a great price!

Welcome to the forum @TBear333!  Maybe try your prior clubs if you still have them, or go to a shop and try some different options/do a fitting.

Let us know what you end up doing…there is an entire thread for new purchases (under CHA).

Welcome!

Personally, with all the procedures, I would probably want to get fitted for clubs that help optimize everything.  If rotation or movements are restricted, it's probably the best way to get back to enjoying the game.

Being a little older than you I would recommend shafts that are easier on your joints. Getting to be more of a problem each year older. Definitely some kind of graphite and as soft as you can play. I’ll be 79 next month but we don’t all age at the same pace.
