Best swing transition ever!!

Recommended Posts

Read posting from Brittany, and the idea of left pocket back, just a little bit, at start of transition to downswing!!!
pure genius.

At the range, at first, it was no way, but as I worked into the just a little bit, not a whole bunch, my direction control went strangely correct!!!

thank you for posting helpful tips.

update in a couple of weeks (or more often if I win the simulator).

PS if things go well, I will be wanting tips on how to hit irons high enough to hold the green

Hit it hard and hope to find it!!

I was about to ask where you found it.  I kind of figured it was on the main site but wasn't 100% sure.

I believe you're talking about this article: Best Golf Transition drills

And I agree, these 4 videos, while they may not be the best out there & available based on preference/opinion, were a very good combined 4-video series to remind us of some key ways to review & critique our swings to see if we are doing what we need in order to make sure we are giving ourselves the best chance at perfecting our swing tempo's for our best shot results.

I don't understand any of this. It's been years since I thought anything about transition. I keep my left heel anchored, three quarter swing  (left arm parallel to ground max backswing) and swing at 80% max of my capability, usually around 60 or 70%. If my timing struggles I work to keep my upper arms closer to my chest starting down and through the follow through. Hogan said turn the hips. That never worked for me. My goal is to make no unusual move anywhere in the swing.

Settled clubs: Epon 50/8, 45/6, 40/5, 35/4, 30/4, 26/3 all with Zelos 8 stiff, 1/2 degree flat. Mizuno CLK Hybrid 20 degrees. Putter: 37" rife.h Hbore xl 2wood (the unicorn)--16 degrees, 420 cc?

Not settled: 54/10 Vokey

Not settle: 12 degree Mizuno stx 12* set to 11.

Well, what do you consider unusual?

All a swing transition is, is just the process of using your body movement, in tempo with your swing, to help gain as much potential energy as possible in your swing. The more energy you can add in your swing, the more power you can impart into the ball on impact.

This can result in better grip with the grooves in your irons & wedges for better spin control in your approach shots, or more distance with your driver & long irons/hybrids. Shifting your weight during your swing just allows you to use the natural body movement, that your body wants to make anyways during your swing, to add more force in your swing, while reducing the amount of force you need to use in your arms to replicate the same shot without transitioning your body during the swing.

Staying static with your body during your swing is fine if it works for you, but your losing out on additional potential power in your swing. Also, allowing your body to move helps reduce strains in various joints and ligaments that you would most likely tense up in an effort to keep your body stagnant while swinging a metal weight on the end of a stick that is just trying to move your body off-balance anyways while your swinging it around.
