Wow, those are my exact specs! Unfortunately, those are a bit too much of a players profile for me. I am all about forgiveness at this point in my life. Good luck to those that apply.

That's awesome! Kuddos @Tom the Golf Nut! I am sure there is a spy who can utilize the opportunity and put in the paces with them for data

These are Forged Tour Irons, but fit into a players distance iron category. According to Cobra’s website they are for a 7 or less handicap. Small head profile, thin top line, and reduced offset.

Tom, you're a man that just keeps on giving lol.

Unfortunately I'm about a year away from being able to bag these clubs to do them justice, otherwise I'd jump at the chance to try-out my Cobra King-Tec One-Length idea with these beauties.

What I will say is do not be afraid of these irons as a mid handicapper. I, too, was initially intimidated by the stated 0-7 handicap range Cobra lists on their site. However, I'm really enjoying them so far. Are they easy to hit? No. But there is still some built in forgiveness.

If I can play them, anyone can.

I ain't skeered!

What has me dissuaded from trying these is that they Will have to be shortened to at least stock length,  if not a bit shorter, to fit me.

I could learn to play them, I'm sure, but then, would they really work for me?

So here is me, NOT applying, but hoping that that this may motivate and encourage others to do so.

Thank you for this amazing opportunity to be able to retest these irons.

A little about me I am 52 years old. I play currently at an unregistered 14 handicap and I am able to play Golf year round. This will be my 3rd year learning how to play golf.

I am not sure that I would prove worthy or that I am even capable of using these clubs to their full performance potential, but I would give it 100% effort.

I have never played a "player's iron". I have only recently begun to remain consistent with my game over the last 6 months.

What is most intimidating to me about these is the fact that I would have to work on building up my confidence again. Knowing that these were designed for someone who is a better golfer than I am, there is an inherent factor of intimidation that will accompany this new journey.

Sure. I have read where plenty of people started out playing with player's irons versus game improvement. And most of them here have all stated they wish they hadn't. At least I have that going for me.

The community here at MGS has brought me a long ways in purporting my development as a golfer, but I suppose at some point I would have to take a leap of faith on my own.

While I am surely not the most qualified person to be selected, I would absolutely relish this gracious gesture of having the opportunity to be part of this "play it forward" experience.

With regards,

Rob

Nope I was so moved by this heartfelt application I just can't possibly take the opportunity away from you by applying, or it could be that my wife has told me if I bring anymore golf clubs into our house she will Elin Nordegren me with them - I knew I shouldn't have told her that story about Tiger so I guess that's my fault.

Ok, ok... Here's why I would be a good choice.

1. I love to test equipment, I also like to get other spies around me involved in my tests.

2. I have a unique way of writing and apply it to my test reviews and to my blogs.

3. Those irons are dead sexy! Get into my bag irons!

4. I am thinking about transitioning to graphite shafts and also wondering how regular flex shafts would work for me. As I age (gracefully like milk 🤣) I have developed some pain and suffering, I am really curious to see if graphite would help alleviate some of this.

5. ^^ I am willing to change to a stiffer shaft if needed, while still using graphite.

6. I appreciate a smaller club profile and can play them.

7. If these clubs don't like me, I am also willing to pass them on to the next person, though I doubt they and I won't get along.

8. I appreciate Cobra and think they are underrated. I would give them a fair shake down.

9. I am very active in my review and report multiple times a week.

10. While they are only 1 degree flat, and I am 2 degrees flat, I think they are close enough to my fit, minus flex, that I wouldn't have to change much to get a desired result playing them. I think they'd flex down enough based on my swing to negate the 1 degree difference.

11. With my official USGA season closing, that doesn't mean I won't play golf. I have access to simulators, and I have a course in Cheyenne that stays open year round, weather permitting. I can also play in Colorado, as they are warmer than Wyoming.

That's my speel. I really appreciate @Tom the Golf Nut and @GolfSpy_BNG for providing us spies a unique opportunity like this. Whoever is chosen, I look forward to reading their review and hope they can appreciate what this opportunity has to offer.

I could play golf every day and learn something new each round.
