If they are good enough for the legend himself, they must beer good enough.  Heard nothing but good things about the brand, yet to try any myself.

I only know of Sub 70 from YouTube videos, which is to say I have not hit them.  They are on my radar for new irons when I retire (and treat myself) in 2026 along with a few other DTC clubs, first on the list.

Sub 70 gets my recommendation. I currently game their 699u ProV2 driving iron.

Customer service = 5 stars
I placed a custom build order on a Saturday night. Sunday morning I had an email confirming my order and clarifying details of my order. I traded emails with a real person that day to make sure they were building my club to my specifications.

Customization options = 5 stars
Plenty of no cost customization options. Lots of upgrade options. I hear that if you call there are even more options not listed on the website.

Build quality = 5 stars

Product performance = 5 stars.
I have been using my driving iron for several month now. It is a go to club for me. I use it as my fairway finder off the tee.

As a lefty I have been overall satisfied with their LH offering however I would only give them 4 stars in this area as there are limitations to their LH offering.

Their pricing is very good. They offer periodic discounts that make it even harder to resist buying their products.

They also have a preowned eBay store where you can find some great deals.

I’ve quickly became a fanboy of Sub70 during this 2024 season. Started playing the JB Forged full groove wedges in 54° & 58° this past spring and absolutely love them. The aesthetics, feel and performance have been great for me so far. I might be looking for new irons in 2025 and there are a couple of models from Sub 70 that are leading the list of potential candidates. The 699 V3 has definitely caught my attention along with the 659CB and 639CB irons. Being four hours from their facilities means that I might just plan on heading over for a fitting when the time comes.

I am really intrigued by this brand.  They have had great success with a few clubs in their lineup.  Their Hybrids/fairway woods and wedges have been at the top of near the top of your testing here.  The irons have been well received too.  It’s a strong possibility that I will be buying some of their product in the near future.

I have no experience with Sub 70, so that's my baseline.  I do really like what they're doing, and where they're going.  The new wedges, for example, have edgy good looks, even if a bit polarizing, and I'd love to give them a try next time around.
At least locally, there's no fitting opportunity, and I've become convinced, as a long time MGS reader, that fitting is critical.  So far, I've gotten fit for my irons and driver, but not my wedges, so I guess I'm more open to Sub 70 wedges, but not necessarily other clubs,  because of that experience.
Regardless of all this, Sub 70 is important in that they address a need in the golf equipment industry.  With drivers at $600, and price points for other clubs escalating commiseratively, there has to be a value option simply for the future of the game.  I played with "off the rack" clubs for many, many years, and wouldn't be a golfer today if having fitted, expensive clubs were the only option available to me as a novice golfer.

Go Sub 70!

I have been using a set of the version 1 699 irons for 3 years now.  I have enjoyed using them, but realized that I likely need more of a game improvement iron, so recently picked up a set of Mizuno JPX923 HL irons.  I also have a Sub70 TAIII putter and one of their 949x hybrids.  As a company, I think they are excellent.  I have nothing but great things to say about Jason and the team at Sub70.  The only reason I went in a different direction with my new irons is because I was looking for game improvement irons, did not feel like waiting for the new V3 699s and am not a fan of the look of the V2 699 or the 749/799 lines.  I am sure they are all great clubs, just did not catch my eye.  I was also able to get fit locally for my Mizunos vs purchasing my Sub70 irons over the phone, so that makes a difference too, IMO.

Maybe we can put a link to the thread with the pictures of the upcoming offerings in the first post?  Just a thought.

Big fan. Easy communication, easy return/exchange policy. Quality product. Cool customization options.  I started w irons, added wedges, then a hybrid, finally a driver, then another hybrid. At their price point it’s hard to go wrong.

The draw back, of course, is how to get fit. Yes, they have a try it before you buy it - and that helps if you want to take the time. Yes, there are some fitting carts out there, if you can find them. And yes you can make the pilgrimage to The Seventy (I have). But can they grow on that model?  I hope so. I selfishly hope so.

I’m anxious to see the new driver head. I’m fortunate that at that price point I will probably just buy it without trying it. Probably…  But how many can or will take that risk? But to keep that affordable price point they have to be commercially successful.

The little things they do to build their reputation certainly helps.

My reaction is mostly second hand. I have been following them for a while and certainly noticed the good reviews from MGS and others. Irons really looked nice. Recently a couple good friends that are very good (and long hitting) golfers made the trip to the Chicago area for a fitting. The ended up with different models but both of them are pleased. They complimented the fitting experience and felt they well fitted. I have played with both of them since they've had their clubs and they look good at address (I held them) and they played very well.

All in all I have a very positive feeling about Sub70 and their brand and irons and fitting.

Big fan of Sub70, and consider them one of the best DTCs out there. They have a wide range of options for all sorts of players, and their designs are unique.

I would have jumped on a set of 699s a couple years ago if not for the Cobra challenge. My favorite part about their brand - their demo program. I love being able to try out a club before jumping into a full set - I wish more DTCs would do this.

Very excited for their 2025 line!

I had not followed DTC brands before coming to MGS, but must say I’m pretty impressed with Sub 70.  They have some really good looking products (looking at you the all black 699 Pros!).  Products seem to perform for the testers.

I start with, I never played them.  However, I have read almost universally great reviews about them, and importantly, their customer service and the whole experience.  I am loyal to PING as it is family owned still and dedicated to the game and high quality engineering.  If I was to go elsewhere, then Sub 70 would be my next stop, as they tick all of the "other" boxes that are important to me beyond making a high quality golf product.   Personally I think you cannot go wrong with their products from all of the videos and articles I have had a chance to read.

I have several sub70 clubs, a 50* a 46* a 5w and a 3i. I toyed with all of these as speciality clubs to add to my bag. Although none are still in my bag, the performance was there with the big OEMS. To me it came down to visual preference. I am a Ping/Srixon guy for the most part and visually it wasn't the right fit for me. Very good chance the 46* goes back in my bag I just need to match the shaft with the rest of my irons to get more consistent flight patterns. Love sub70, they come from a neighboring town of my college (Northern Illinois in Dekalb) and will continue to buy their apparel and clubs, hoping to get my hands on some more of their irons in the future.

I tried the wedges, didn't care for them.  The weight distribution didn't feel * right *, and I couldn't get consistent/repeatable spin and control on my shots with them. They seem well-built and reasonably-priced (it's golf stuff, nothing is "cheap"!), just not for me.

I took my son to get fitted in Illinois at Sub70.  It was a fantastic experience.  Kevin got him in the right set and took time to help him on his swing.  He absolutely crushes these clubs.  His senior season is coming up this spring and I just ordered him a 5 wood from there.  Arrived in less then 2 weeks.  No complaints about the products or customer service.  Both top notch.

I have no experience with Sub 70 yet.  The forum does seem to have positive thoughts about the brand.
I'm looking forward to trying some clubs at some point

Kinda unusual for me to have not ever heard of a golf brand as much as I read and research about golf and golf products. But I can honestly say that I’ve never even heard of the name Sub 70 relative to golf!

Never got fit with Sub 70 but have owned the 699 and the 659 combo set.  Still have the combo set as a back up.  The Sub 70 line is real quality with of course a great price.  I game Cobra Forged Tec because they have more of the blade look in the hollow body design.  The new line of Sub 70 looks better than ever.

I have a Sub 70 005 Wide Blade Center Shaft Putter. So far I really like it. The price of it was great, it has a great look and has a great feel. The quality of everything is great. I love that they gave me the weight set without charging me extra for it.

I tested out a driver, it felt good, but I didn't end up going with it.

I will for sure thing about getting more clubs from them in the future.

Just recently purchased a 3 Hybrid club which was easy to order online and arrived within the allotted 10days. On unwrapping the club felt great with a decent weight and feel and design was very smart as well. Having now used the club both at the range and on the course I’m delighted with my purchase; feels really comfortable to hit and ball flight is excellent which has added to my distance also; and decent ball dispersion range too; even if you don’t hit one flush. Overall I have been very impressed with my club and would certainly recommend them for both quality and price which I think are excellent. I did contact them with feedback as felt the headcover which came with the club wasn’t great and let the product down ; and was surprised but pleased when I received a reply from the company and they said would take this onboard … something you’ll never get from the bigger brands. So yeah big fan of Eleven golf 👍🏻

I have two Sub70 clubs in the bag currently (699 ProV2 driving irons) and will definitely be looking to get more as other clubs in my bag age. The buying experience is incredibly easy and they make the complex (shaft selection, loft angles, etc.) simple. I also feel that the clubs I have perform as well if not better than other off-the-rack options from Taylormade and Callaway and they are a fraction of the price. Big fan here, would highly recommend anyone to check it out!

I am a local so might be a bit different of an experience since I did an in-person fitting.

Having a relaxed fitting (and swing session) was worth a lot for me. Have enjoy the clubs and overall customer service experience.

I gave Sub 70 a try and they quickly won me over.  I went from Gen 3 PXG irons to their 699 Pro irons.  They are every bit as good and look SO good! I was fit for my driver (PXG Gen 6) and putter (Edel) so those will be staying in my bag.  When I need new wedges I may give theirs a look.  Love Sub 70 as company and their customer service and personal attention are second to none.

One of the best if not the best company as far as customer service. Products are very good and at a reasonable price. Not very many companies that the owner will call you or take your call to help you make a shaft choice. I recommend them anyone who asks about my bag and clubs

Big fan of Sub70. They seem to have worked hard to carve their own lane in the DTC landscape and make truly unique clubs vs just buying heads and slapping their logo on them. Definitely need to make a trip to Sycamore to check out their fitting studio and HQ.
