The ‘Knockdown’

Today I felt like I was in a wind tunnel… anyways I gripped down the club quite a ways.  Similar to what Tommy Fleetwood does.  I hit every single iron and wedge smack dab on the sweet spot (aside from the one hole).  I think I’m going to use this going forward, it doesn’t really go any lower on a standard shot, and had enough spin to stop a 7 iron dead on a par 3…

I love knockdown shots and understand your felling, but I've found the benefit of using that stroke all the time is fleeting. I've tried it before, and eventually old habits will start showing through again as you try swinging harder or you start losing the flexibility you had with the full swing. Plus, I find it hard to flip back to a normal swing when a shot warrants it. I would recommend sticking with the full swing and incorporating more knockdown shots into your round. I personally use multiple knockdown shots every round to better control distance and spin.
