Galway Bay Thermal Water Resistant Sleeves

I took advantage of a discount percentage offered in late September to get a pair of thermal sleeves from Galway Bay.  It is something I've wanted to try for a while because I don't particularly like the way a long sleeve jacket feels when I swing.   I prefer to play in 1/2 sleeve jackets or vests so I don't get the stiff bound up feeling when I swing.  But that leaves my arms either bare or with only a long sleeve shirt for covering.  I hoped the sleeves would give some warmth and allow for a free swing.   It has been very warm here this fall and there hasn't been an opportunity to try them out until this past week.

We had two days of golf with temps in the low 50's coupled with a 2 or 3 club wind.  Both days I layered with the GB sleeves, a long sleeve henly shirt,  along with a vest and the GB 1/2 sleeve rain jacket.   I was very comfortable temperature wise both days.  The first day I wore the sleeves from the car at the very start of play.  We went right to the first tee, no range balls.  The 2nd day i didn't put them on until after hitting range balls to warm up a bit.  I immediately felt the warmth when putting on the GB sleeves.  So on the temperature side of the equation these are a birdie!

More importantly, with the sleeves my swing felt free and loose unlike when wearing a long sleeve jacket.   I had a lot of mobility to turn on the backswing and follow through after impact.  If you have the same aversion to long sleeve golf jackets like I do then I highly recommend giving these sleeves a try when coupled with a 1/2 sleeve jacket.   GB marketing says they are water resistant but since we haven't had any rain during daylight hours since I got them that part remains untested.

Great review.  They sound great for golf.  How was the fit?  Do they come in a couple of sizes and colors?

These are awesome!  I'm not a fan of jackets either and this is right up my alley.

They come in sizes Small thru XXL.  They say to order the same size as a jacket and it worked for my sizing, a medium.  They are tight enough to stay in place when playing but dont cut off circulation.  Once i put them on i did not adjust them all day.  I dont see an option for different colors, only black.

They come with a small pouch that now stays in my bag.
