I paid full price for quite a few things this year unfortunately.. it may be the temu golf shoes that I got honestly but that doesn’t really count anyone could go to the app and get them.

I picked up my Titleist 16.5* for $125. It has one scratch on on top but was barely hit.

However picked up a TSR2 off of our local ebay type spot. It had been on Buy and sell for for over a month and went off, I think they had given up. However when you have it saved it shows as "unlisted, but not sold" and can make an offer.

I offered 150, as it had been listed at 200. They accepted right away, great. A nice backup driver and while the photo didn't really show the condition or list the shaft (it said reg) I figured it was worth the chance and I could swap out one of my current shafts if needed.

Well we finally met up to get the club (about an hour or so away) and they had another driver which didn't sell. A Callaway Paradym Triple Diamon 10.5 degree. Price - free, never sold and they didn't want the effort to sell it.

Now I checked their rep and all that, great history and reputation so no worries on them being fake or stolen (that did come to mind).

After I show you the photos you will see that they are near new and only look like they have a few hits on both. There is even some plastic from a new weight in the back of the port of the TSR2.

The shafts are both 5.5 HZRDUS (CB Red on the TSR2 and white 50 gram on the paradym).

Both very usuable and solid shafts. So now I have another extra backup.

So essentially nearly $1000 of drivers for that price?! I'd let my wife be mad at me for spending the money if that deal came across my screen!!!

Just a few days ago I bought a Cobra Aerojet that was in 8/10 condition for a real bargain at the golf store while I was having my shaft re-tipped.

Did I need it? No! But for the price I was willing to see if it would be an improvement from the 910D to a just over a year old model. It's definitely lighter!

Miz ES21 wedges. They're only (??) years old but on sale, and I am really liking these! For me much better performance and feel vs the CBXs I'd been gaming for a few seasons.

I got some great deals in 2024. Retail wise, the best deal I got was US$85 for this used Mizuno Pro 22 deg hybrid in Tokyo. It came with the GD Tour AD DI hybrid shaft. Both looked basically unused. Came with a Mizuno head cover too. Hard to beat when the shaft alone is way more than that price.

Actually there were a couple of "best deals" for me this past year.

1. Estate Sale - Cameron Putters & odyssey Jailbird (long model) putter. I did not need them, and before I bought them all, asked the members here if they would be interested in them.

All 4 putters were "spoken for" by various members, and I made the purchase of them and shipped them to the members who bought them. The were all WELL below retail pricing including shipping.

2. Most recent, and no pictures yet, independent golf store "going out of business" sale. Bought these yesterday with SWMBO also present, and not too much grief from her about getting both of them at the same time.

Bought 2 sets of Mizuno irons with the Modus shafts that I currently play. Mizuno Pro 243 and Mizuno JPX923 Forged irons, both sets 4 - Gap Wedge and I gave $1200.00 for BOTH sets total. Hoping to play with the Pro 243 on Tuesday next week.

My putting stats have been just on fire since this Scotty has gone in the bag. It was a Scotty Champion's Choice putter with the Teryllium Inlay. It was brand new and just gorgeous!

... I bought a Ping G430 #4 hybrid that has found a permanent place in my bag. Used my Dicks Reward Coupons so it was 1/2 price and solidified that rotating spot in my bag.

(Honorable mention: I know APH said no testing clubs but the autoFlex Dream 7 was such a HUGE game changer for me, every other equipment change seems almost inconsequential in comparison.)

I actually did not do any club Hoeing and trading this year until Thursday. I actually sold a lot of accumulated stuff since I lost my storage warehouse to a State Highway project at the first of the year.

Now my purchases are not as expensive or glitzy as others but I buy and trade for what I like. Thursday looking around a local golf shop I spied a Mizuno 54* wedge in the $10 barrel. It was in good shape with a new GP CP grip. I liked the grind and the way it sat. WTH spend $10. bought it and took it out to see. Found out it was not only good out of various lies but great out of our crappy greenside bunkers. I hit several great shots with it that paid off. Won double what I paid for it in Friday's game.

The next one will be hard for some to fathom in the modern world. It is a 1950-1953 Macgregor Tommy Armour pyratone shafted Ironmaster putter. Those are rare and have an uncanny feel to me. I had looked at it and debated on the price and went home and checked prices. I went over there after golf Friday and made a deal. Ended up trading an original Odyssey Sabre Fang for it and a Original Anser with the Original grip and sticker for it. I took it out to our practice green and putted well with it despite the slick worn out GP Tour Wrap. Brought it back home and put my last Lamkin leather wrap on it and my ball pick up cup. Did an extensive session with it yesterday at both my home course and the Par3. Really putted well fo me going back to my old style way of putting. I have it in the bag for today for the Monday game. Like I say not new and shiny but that is the way I roll

I retired from my career earlier this year and recently started a "lifestyle" retirement job working at Dick's in the golf shop. I quickly found out that working there opens up ludicrous discounts with most of the brands we all know, like anywhere from 50-70% off on clubs, balls, rangefinders, etc. I picked up ZX7 5-P with graphite for $335.

Picked up a Vokey 58.08 wedge for under a hundred dollars at my favorite golf shop. Was a demo and in premo shape. I say clear of eBay purchases, especially on golf equipment. Too many fakes on that site. I only purchase from brand accounts and people I know and trust. I usally on purchase new equipment.

I went to Walmart to buy a battery jump starter for my car. I just cruised past the sporting goods aisle to take a look for a chance discount. They had a row of TP5 but there was no price tag. Only other Taylor made price tag was for ‘distance plus’ or something like that for $19.99. I brought a box of tp5’s over to a clerk and asked for a price check. He said they were on clearance for $29.99 but that the price was supposed to go down every week. He punched some keys on his handheld gizmo and printed a $19.99 sticker. I said thanks and asked if I could get more, no problem he said! I went back and got three more boxes. I took 4 boxes up to the register and they all scanned at $19.99!

I have to exchange my battery jumper so I’m hoping I find some tp5x’s at that price. Thanks nice (rogue?) Walmart employee!

Idk if anyone can beat this, but I got a Qi10 10.5* head-only for $300. The guy used it for only one round and only hit it like 6 times, I could see every ball mark on the face. He even threw in a brand new headcover for the new head he ordered. I just had purchased a shaft that came with a TM tip on it that I was going to swap onto my Callaway, but I have never hit a driver so well I am in awe of it.

I always have wanted to love TM drivers, but I could never hit them, so I figured I'd hate it and resell it, but that thing is firmly entrenched in my bag.

I also got a dozen Maxfli Tour X for $29.99 with a coupon I got from a scramble we won. That was also a great deal.

Glad you got a great deal. Actually interested that you were at the curling hall. In Baden? Have you been to the Baden Masters? We don't get any big time events near us.

We are just moving out of the golf season into curling season. Unfortunately broke my ankle a few weeks ago so once I get a little more healed up I'll have to start the season being a stick curler.

Anyway as I said good bargains.

A major impulse buy, I purchased my Callaway Ai Smoke Max 16.5 3HL off Amazon because it was slated to be delivered in 2 days prior to a golf trip. After 2 weeks went by, it looked like it was lost. Amazon refunded the purchase price due to it did not meet their Prime shipping expectations, but about a week later right before I was gonna order another one, it showed up! I reached back out to them and said it did arrive and they said not to worry about it--it was still super late so they ate it. So while it's not necessary a "deal", free is pretty lucky.

Yup, the Baden masters is one of my busiest weeks of the year. Normally put in between 80 and 100 hours that week. Pretty routine event now and since it is at my club isn't that stressful compared to the other events I have done in the past. I have been here for 4 or so years and have made ice for 5 baden masters now.
