The “pause drill” ruined my game

I spent the last week (ish) on the range trying the “pause drill”. (Hideki Matsuyama style swing?) 

 I hit approximately 15 balls with each club, starting with PW, 8, 6, 4, 5W then driver with any balls left.

IT RUINED MY GAME!!! I played the worst round in maybe 4 years.

yes, every club was almost arrow straight, But also was on average 12 yards farther (GPS app numbers)!!!

I have to totally recalibrate my bag!

for real, if you have a slice or distance (short) issue TRY THE PAUSE DRILL!!! It made my worst round so much fun seeing the ball go straight and farther.

I used to pause back in the day. I may go back to it, but it did help me when I did pause. It wasn’t very popular 20 years ago, and a friend of mine was trying to get rid of his pause, but he went right back to it after a couple months.

Probably should have been.  It was Tigers least favorite drill that Butch made him do to work on his body synchronization. Talked about it back in 2000 on Academy Live.

I saw a player do it so I tried it. It helped my inconsistencies back in the day.

Can be a great drill to help with inconsistent strikes.

Nothing better to get your swing in sync. That drill/feel always works best for me with driver.
