Hello everyone! My name is luke-donald-duck. No, actually it isn't, but I won't be giving my real name away for the sake of my privacy ;)

 

If you couldn't guess from my screen name, I'm a Luke Donald fan, and a Donald Duck fan. And what better way to get a screen name than to mix those two together?

 

I'm a relatively casual golfer, but I'll be attending a boarding school starting this fall (next week, actually) where I'll hopefully be playing competitive golf during the spring. I wrote down my handicap as 13, but quoting GolfSpy T from an old post, "I have good days, I have bad days, and I have days where I'm completely useless." Take my last round for example. I hit a grand total of... (drumroll please) 6 drives OB and 1 into the hazard. When I have one of *those* days with the driver, my game basically falls apart (oh, I shot 100 exactly that day, in case you were wondering). As long as I keep my driver in play throughout the round, I can at least scrounge up a mid-80s score, low-80s if my putting and iron games are good that day.

 

If you look at my bag (in my signature), it's kind of messed up. Mixed up wedges (they're both 3 years old), and no fairway woods. BUT I'll be getting new wedges this fall (52* and 58* MP T-11s please?) and hopefully a 3-wood before the season starts next spring.

 

Well, I think that's enough of an introduction for me. Hopefully I'll reveal who I am to everyone as time goes by and I make more posts.

Welcome!

Interesting enough to see how my game is very similar to yours.

Last week I shot 104 with 6 drives OB as well. People say how much putting and short game is where you shave strokes, but for us it's the driver that kills us.

stevenhw8, wdgolf, haha yeah, it's the driver that kills us, isn't it? Although I've never had a round THAT bad before... oh well. Better to experience it in a casual round like that rather than one that really matters....

Welcome to forum - you'll have to tell us about your school. I actually have a good friend who works at the Hill School - a very fine boarding school, in Pottstown PA - that would be a hoot, if you were there.

revkev, I know a guy from my old school who goes to the Hill School - don't think he plays golf though. As for me, I go to Westminster School, in Connecticut. I haven't really been able to post much for the past two months or so because I've been getting used to school life... plus there's just so much to juggle around!

 

It seems like my bag will be undergoing some changes in the near future, but in the flatstick department first. :lol: We'll see what happens.
