There are some smooth swings like Freddy Couples...but what we want to know is...what do you guys think are the worst swings on the tour? Let's rank'em!

Off the top of my head (ugly): Rickie Fowler, Jim Furyk (as much as I love him), Kenny Perry, Chris Dimarco.

Bad: Camilo Villegas, Phil Mickelson (though it has gotten better).

Those are just quick ones, not too in depth.

Here is one writer's opinion back in 2005. With a few exceptions, I believe most of the guys are still on tour.

I didn't really think about Kenny Perry earlier. That two part backswing - not pretty. But like I said, there isn't a "bad" swing on that list because all those swings have tour cards.

Atypical maybe, bad/non-productive none.

Perry should be presenting the jacket in a couple of weeks...

Look, I'm going to say first that I shouldn't be saying anything about anyone elses swing, compared to mine but I will lol.

Dustin Johnson, no doubting it works, but its fugly. Fowler's I like but no way he is going to be able to do that in 10 years.

I have a revolving WITB policy.

He looks like he is just warming up, getting a little stretching in, and then he starts swinging, seemingly out of nowhere.

Yeah, if he hadn't crapped himself thinking about a playoff...

Fowler's ugly??

Wow! It's definitely quick, but I don't know about ugly!

Wow, I like Fowler's swing. I like his aggression through the ball - almost like he is trying to go for it every time (except in Phoenix where he seemingly loses his sac).

Of course, any pro swing would look good compared to mine.

Looks like it might be easier for you to list the swings you do like, haha. If I was good, perhaps I would have a more discerning eye, too.

It's not that I don't like these swings, in fact I like swings with some "personality" to them. However, they are not the type of swings that I would want to try and teach other than from a foot before impact to the follow through, from there they are text book (as you would expect from a tour player).

Understood. Who has the swing that you would teach someone else?

Lucas Glover has one of the simplest swings out there, nothing overly athletic about it other than the very strong wrists/forearms. It is a fairly easy move to make for almost every one, great lines and few moving parts, very repeatable.

Thanks. I'll have to pay a bit more attention to him the next time he's on TV to see what you're talking about.
