This past weekend I burned a Te Amo dominicana blend with a wonderful 2008 Peachy Canyon Zinfandel. The cigar really pulled out a lot of the flavors in the wine. I always like to enjoy a big red wine with a cigar, I feel that you get more out of the wine and I can have a couple glasses of wine vs. a couple glasses of scotch.

This weekend I had one of Pete Johnsons L'Atelier with a Fireside Red from Vahling Vineyards (we were at a wine festival in eastern IL). I prefer a Oliva or Rocky Patel Connecticut with either Woodford Reserve or Angels Envy on the rocks. It really depends on what I'm drinking; if I'm drinking top shelf stuff, I go with a mild cigar, so it doesn't over power the drink, I pair a medium cigar with pretty much anything else.
