Flv02
This is going to be the topic where you will post your favorite cigar and we can talk and compare. Alec Bradley The Fix. It is a very thick Robusto with filler tobaccos from Colombia, Nicaragua, Mexico, Honduras and Costa Rica rolled in dark, Nicaraguan Habano wrappers. Thick and full-bodied is how I like them haha. You guys can make a couple of jokes from that one. JBones
I've only found it one time, in a hole in the wall shop in the mountains of TN; it was a Oliva Champagne. I can't even find any information on it online, all I know is that it was the best cigar I've ever had (should've been for $30) and I can't find anything about it all. I'm a Oliva/Rocky Patel guy. RookieBlue7
Don't have a favorite, but I did go in and buy 4 last night for golf today. I spent more than I should've ($53 on 4 cigars), but I only smoked 1 of them. That one? A Rocky Patel 15th anniversary. I bought a Romeo y Julieta anniversary, an Acid KubaKuba, and one other one I can't recall right now. I pick cigars out by their smell in the store, bot by type or anything else. Smoker the Rocky Patel today and it was a damned fine smoke. I'm on vacation next week and will want to have a couple of cigars on the back porch during the course of that time. Along with a glass of scotch or two. The ones I bought were unbelievably smooth and balanced (I guess that's how your describe it). They lasted a while too, slow burners (6 holes or so). Don't ask me to get technical cause I just buy ones that smell good in the humidor and then either love them or hate them for their flavor and smoothness. Stogiesnbogies
A Favorite cigar is a bit like a favorite wine or favorite beer....really depends on any number of variables. I prefer to refer to several "go-to " cigars which are all favorites depending on mood and circumstance. I separate "go-to" cigars from golf gars as they tend to have distinctly different purposes. A "go-to" cigar is one that you focus upon exclusively and savor while sitting with a beverage while a golf gar is pleasant but not obtrusive. Go-To: Mild to medium: Perdomo Champagne, Perdomo lot 23 natural, Casa Torano, Alec Bradley Star Insignia, Family Blend and American Blend, Rocky Patel The Edge, Romeo & Julietta Reserva Real, Montecristo White Label, San Cristobal Elegancia, Padron anniversary series... Golf gars: Patel Edge Light, 5 Vegas Gold or Classic, 5 Vegas Gold maduro , Hoyo De Monterrrey Excalibur, and yes , even Macanudo makes a fine golf gar -especially for early morning tee times on a partially empty stomach! This is a partial list but hopefully provides some indication of my cigar preferences. Link to comment
Stogiesnbogies
1. La Gloria Cubana - Serie N 2. Ave Maria 3. Punch - Punch 4. Anything by Oliva 5. A tie between Man O War - Ruination and Alec Bradley - Prensado Ave Maria is something of an under the radar quality smoke. Oliva's are good and reasonably priced for the most part....like the G Series...and the V Classic Blends are usually worth the extra money as well. Almost anything Alec Bradley blends turns to gold....but alas, don't care much for anything from Punch BTW: I have a Ruination that's been sitting in my humi for sometime....just may need to spark it up this Sunday while watching NFL. Fivesome
Being from Kentucky i have to throw my hat in and say the Maker's Mark cigars are my favorite. Gotta love the glass tubes and red wax sealed tops - makes opening the cigar an experience all its own. As far as golf course cigars i have no real favorite. As long as they last nine holes and are cheap enough to share I am willng to try anything. Link to comment
