MEMBER TESTING! - Carnahan Forged Vintage Wedges

 

We have been contacted by Carnahan Golf and asked to select 3 MyGolfSpy Forum Members to participate in a review of a full set (52,56, and 60) of the Carnahan Forged Vintage Wedges. The members who are chosen will be asked to do the following:

 

Requirements

• Post an "unboxing" complete with a 3 photos and your initial impressions.
• Write a full review using our "official" review template. This will help ensure a consistency of layout for each of the 3 reviews (and any reviews that follow).
• Post a follow-up to your initial review.
• Participate in ongoing discussion and/or answer follow-up questions from the community about the product you reviewed.

Qualifications

• While we have not said a hard minimum on the # of posts you must have to qualify, you must be what the staff considers to be a contributing forum member
• Demonstrated ability to write a review following a specific template (including formatting)
• Demonstrated ability to take and post quality photos of golf equipment
• Must be a resident of the USA or Canada, 25 years or older
• Must be Right-Handed
• Must have access to a golf course, driving range, and/or indoor golf course facility for the duration of the review period (if you can't play because of weather, please sit this one out)
• Access to a launch monitor is desirable, but is most definitely NOT required.
• Ability to calculate averages (basic math)

Carnahan Golf is a unique brand of forged wedges and milled putters from Portland, OR. Our boutique line is tailored exclusively to green grass pro shops, so it creates an old school offering that is not available at the 'big box' stores. The customizable clubs are built in-house at our on site production facility. Players can individualize the entire line by adjusting shaft length, lie angle, and loft angle. In addition, our Vintage wedges can be hand stamped with numbers and letters akin to the users liking.

 

Our use of True Temper Dynamic Gold shafts and Golf Pride Tour Velvet grips contributes to the quality feel of the wedges that starts with the forged steel head. The increased softness over a cast wedge improves feel and confidence for everyone regardless of handicap. Our triple grind sole is designed to provide the versatility to attack all different types of shots, while keeping the bounce consistent. Lastly, the tour weighting of the club heads adds to the quality feel of the club as a whole. The 52 and 56 degree wedges are +2 grams and the 60 degree wedges are +3 grams over industry standards. Wrap all of this in a timeless design with a white chrome finish and you have found the last wedge you will ever need.

First, these wedges are designed to give the average golfer a top quality wedge at reasonable price point. To get a forged wedge at our price point is extremely valuable to consumers and we hope you will agree. If you don't know the difference between a forged wedge and a cast wedge, we encourage you to please do some research to find out. Second, we hope that you will take a minute to compare the Dynamic Gold shafts on the wedges to those that you have played in the past. It's a high quality shaft that we think adds to the playability of the wedges. Lastly, be sure to test the wedges in a variety of lies and shot types in order to accurately get a feel for the versatility of the wedges.
